Our $350 a night double room suite was located a floor above a loud roof top night club that closed at 2 am it was like sleeping in the middle of the bar. And they had no other double room . An absolute nightmare I had to sleep with the TV on . I could hear word for word people’s conversations. And then the music started . The glass was not sound or proof . An absolute nightmare
I'll be honest, I was nervous about staying here given some of the reviews I read prior to arrival. I'm so glad I took a chance because my stay was great! The hotel was busy with weddings and there was a line to check in--the reception desk had 3 employees working and the line moved swiftly. Room was clean, updated, and very comfortable. I will say the Marriott brand's choice of pillows could be better--they look nice and fluffy, but flatten almost immediately! Not a critique of this hotel specifically, these pillows are in other Marriott hotels I've stayed. Had a little difficulty with signage--a sign to the M club and hotel breakfast location would be helpful. Enjoyed the Plough bar and there was a nice assortment of beers on tap. Both nights, the bar was busy. Overall, this location is great and perfect for walking around. Don at the Bell Service was a pleasure, even though he seemed to be working alone and was very busy with arrivals. He was smiling and very helpful. Would definitely return to this hotel for future trips to Lancaster.…
Hotel is beautiful and very convenient if attending an event at the Convention center. Restaurants are decent (although very over priced) and the Starbucks on-site is convenient but way too small to accommodate a full hotel. Long lines all day long! They do not take online orders! Note: there is a Starbucks 2 blocks away that does. Rooms are tasteful and average size. If staying in the East Wing (3rd floor), we were directly across from a nightclub with loud music and bass blasting until 1:30 AM on Fri/Sat. The hotel offered an apology and ear plugs. The earplugs drowned out the sound but did nothing for the pounding bass. We got little sleep this weekend and had to be up by 6 am for a Volleyball tournament. Beds were comfortable. No housekeeping unless requested and don’t need use the Bonvoy app for requests, they were ignored. Shower pressure was awful. Hotel was just okay for the price. Wish we had a more restful stay.…
Room was very good. George and Steve at the bar in the restaurant Ploughing we’re absolutely excellent. My only negative comment is the false advertisement of in room dining. It does not exist. They tell you when you get to the hotel that you can order from the lobby restaurant, but there is no longer in-room service since Covid. But they could not explain why there is an in room dining menu online, or the Marriott website that says they have in room breakfast room service. The reality is you can only order and go downstairs to pick it up yourself. False advertising in my book. Next time, I will stay where they honor what they advertise. As a Bonvoy member, I am extremely disappointed! Seems like Covid is the excuse for every company for almost everything. I fully understand that Covid has affected us all, but be real (honest) about it!!…
From our entire trip to Lancaster, this is the only hotel on the journey that I felt safe and comfortable at. The outside of the hotel is absolutely stunning and a beaut. Upon check in, the staff were very friendly and a pianist was playing tunes in the grand piano in the lobby. Parking was a little confusing as signage wasn’t the best. The room didn’t have the best view of the city but the room was still gorgeous. I loved the hardwood floors. The mattress was a little noisy with the springs but I still slept very well. The floor has a tile coming up but didn’t affect my stay. Overall, I would love to stay at this property again. From the 5 hotels I’ve stayed at during this trip, Marriott takes the gold star!!!
As soon as we used the shower the drain was not flowing so you stood in three inched of water by the time you finished. One of the lights on the headboard of the bed did not work. The lamp on the desk did not work. Kinda thought they might give us a voucher for breakfast. Only got a “thank you for letting us know. We will tell housekeeping”. I think housekeeping should have known that there was a problem with the drain when they cleaned the tub. Had trouble learning where to enter the parking facility. Nothing on the web site and calling to talk to the desk I cloudless not get anyone to answers the phone. Only prompts to press one, press two, etc. to book rooms or sign up for their credit card. FYI: Parking entrance is not near the front entrance of the hotel, It is on the east side of a public parking deck off S. Duke Street and there is a pedestrian connector to the hotel via the second level. Just put this information on your web page, Marriott, or make it easier to call the desk.…
Hotel should be a Hampton Inn, not a Marriott. I’ve stayed there many times, each time it gets worse. I am a Bomvoy member. First there is no valet service n the hotel’s parking is really inconvenient. The hotel does not even provide a single bottle of water for its guests, room cleaning has to be requested, they don’t have room service, the breakfast, for $24 pp is often cold, the lobby bar closes at 11pm, the lounge for premium members is closed and the check out process is chaotic when there are several people leaving at once. In short, this hotel is a disaster with little interest in improving
We recently stayed here for two nights in a “Deluxe west corner king” room and have stayed here dozens of times in the past while visiting relatives. There have been many renovations in the past few years, but I continue to find many discrepancies during our stays. First the pros: One of the huge improvements is that they have added a second armchair where there was once only one in a 400 sq ft. room. I’ll also note that my request through the mobile app for pillows, and towels were fulfilled ahead of time for the first time ever. Daily housekeeping has been reinstated, and the cleanliness in common areas has markedly improved since our last stay. Now the cons: The fitness center is closed and under construction, yet there was no notice in the elevators that list the floor for the center. There’s an off-site gym available a few blocks away. The website description of our room notes that there is a shower/tub combination, but in fact there is no tub. The description also notes a desk with electrical outlet when in fact there is no outlet at the desk. It states that there are two phones, but there’s only 1. Aside from the description errors, I don’t understand why there is an outlet and charging dock on only one side of the bed. They have replaced small toiletries with pump bottles in the shower, but be aware that they are mounted quite high in the wall. I’m 5’6” and had to stretch to reach them. The M Club has still not reopened, nor is there room service. We received free buffet breakfasts instead at their Two Kings restaurant. I would not pay the $45 for two breakfasts when there are better options nearby. Be aware that parking is an additional $20/day. It’s included in one of their special “packages,” but that room rate is just increased by $20/day, so it’s really not a deal! The location of this hotel is ideal, but there are some improvements needed to warrant the cost and rating level.…
This is a perfectly fine hotel .. staff helpful, rooms adequate. However, the attitude of other guests (the people in the 2 right next to us arrived with kitchen equipment and trays of beers, proceeding to cook up a storm and have a party between the two rooms), the noise .. no insulation between the rooms and the convention of barbers shop quartet who thought it was fine to party outside our room and sing in the halls until 3 am (the hotel security did attempt to put a stop to them - but they seemed oblivious of anyone else and even became low key abusive when I originally I asked them to stop), has made our stay stressful and challenging. Not sure if this is the norm here or if we have been unlucky, but has felt more like staying in a zoo than a hotel… I feel sorry for the staff if this is what they are routinely up against. Can’t wait to check out! …
We just spent 2 nights at this Marriott while visiting both the Lancaster area and HersheyPark in late August. Overall our stay was amazing from start to end!! When we checked in, we got the warmest welcome from Kristen Lowery, the front desk manager. She was extremely friendly and assigned us two immaculate king rooms up on the 19th floor of the west tower. The view from both the rooms were stunning, they overlooked downtown Lancaster. (Rooms 1915 and 1917) The beds in both the rooms were comfortable, they were definitely on the firmer side. We also loved the fact that for security purposes you couldn’t use the elevators unless you had your room key to press your floor. That made us feel very safe and secure! The final morning we had breakfast in the M Club, the food was super good and the staff inside were very friendly! Would we stay here again? YES in a heartbeat!! This is our official go-to hotel while visiting Lancaster. To Kristen and the whole crew of this Marriott, thank you for making our stay super enjoyable.…
