As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I like to stay at different properties across the Hilton portfolio. On a recent visit to the Lancaster area, I decided to try this property. I could see that this hotel was near just about every restaurant imaginable, so it would be simple to walk to dinner, which I did. As I always do, I checked in online the day before my arrival and picked a room. I didn't do it fast enough, because I noticed that all rooms away from the street were already booked. The room I chose up on the top (5th) floor would have to do. Upon arrival, I could have gone directly to my room, but decided to stop by the desk to collect my water. The woman was kind enough to also give me two bags of popcorn, which later served as a nice post-dinner snack. Having never been to a TRU before, it was interesting to see how basic the room was. But it was functional. Plenty of room for one person. Yes there was traffic noise on busy US 30 adjacent to the building, but I've had worse before. Problem is that it's on a hill so trucks are noisy when stopping for a nearby traffic signal. TV offered a good choice of channels. WiFi was a bit weak, akin to the old dial-up speed. A small desk was available for me to use my laptop, and the one chair in the room (no wheels) I dragged over to it. Bathroom had ample counter space for toiletries. Everything in the bathroom (soap, lotion, shampoo, etc.) is in matching bottles. I was impressed by the breakfast. Plenty of cold and hot choices. The sausage and scrambled eggs were good. Checked out on the Hilton app, so no further contact with the front desk when I left the hotel. I would recommend this place for its being in the center of activity, retail, and restaurants, but if you have a choice do go for the rear facing rooms, where you'll see a closed former Bed Bath & Beyond store.

Hotel's Favourite
This hotel had a modern appearance with extreme cleanliness. It had a bright and welcoming lobby with comfy seating and foosball tables for entertainment. The rooms were spacious with a big tv. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

Absolutely horrible! It is next to a major highway/roadway… soooooo noisy!!! Do not stay at this place if you do not like sleep! I wish I would have known how loud it was …. It’s unfortunate a hotel would build a place so close to the highway🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ And the front desk staff… named Isaac was absolutely awful… so unprofessional, rude, immature… like I know there is a shortage of people working… but seriously… if you hate your job that much and have no customer service skills…. Don’t work at a place that requires customer service🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

This was a great location, decent size room but thats about it. It was stocked with expensive snacks, the pillows were hard, the bed was very uncomfortable and when I said the shower was out of shampoo, they gave me a new bottle and expected me to change it!. Would not stay here again.

We’ve started shifting our travel habits from Marriott to Hilton and thought we would give the Tru brand a try, given how frequently they’re popping up along highways. I’ll admit that, while I figured it would be sufficient for a short one-night stay, I was concerned it would feel like a bare bones version of a Hampton. I left Tru liking it more than I predicted and was pleasantly surprised by the value it offered - the “playful meets practical” and “minimal yet meaningful” taglines on the brand’s website really capture the property perfectly. One thing I immediately noticed was the room was in really good shape, despite the fact the property has been established for several years. Some reviews I read prior to our stay mentioned concerns about cleanliness, but we didn’t notice anything unkempt or out of place in our room; I even remarked how clean the floors were in the bedroom area. The room was well stocked with everything we needed - several towels, cups, makeup wipes, TP rolls, etc. were all left for us (more than I usually see in hotel rooms). The only things we wished the room had were a coffee maker and microwave (though it wasn’t the end of the world - both were available in the lobby). We really didn’t hear any noise from neighboring rooms, despite the hotel being packed; there was minor noise from the highway but nothing I wouldn’t have expected given the location. Where the hotel felt chaotic was the lobby in the morning - breakfast after 8:30 was a bit unhinged, with rude guests who were late to arrive pressuring those still eating out of their seats and some food / coffee running out quicker than it could be replenished (prior to 8:30 was fairly mellow, so try to go on the earlier end). The breakfast seating was the only area that I felt showed noticeable signs of wear. Katie at the front desk was helpful and accommodated a room request for a member of our party; the rest of the staff didn’t go out of their way to be hospitable. While we were initially concerned the property would be too basic, we pretty much had everything we needed in the end (including some added brand quirks, like disposable ice buckets and pancakes at the wave of a hand) and the shortcomings were minimal. We wouldn’t hesitate to return to this property or try another Tru in future travels.

This hotel appears to be the basic line in the Hilton chain. It was very clean but really small. The staff was very friendly and professional. The biggest issue was the close proximity to HWY 30, very noisy! We felt as though we were sleeping (trying to) next to the Daytona 500!

The King room was clean & the roll-in shower worked out great for our needs. Housekeeping staff did a good job. But the King room was too minimalistic for our needs: it only had 1 metal kitchen-type chair to sit on, no real bed-side tables, no desk, no microwave, no coffee maker, no closet. It wasn't what we expected or needed at our retired age.

Small, but comfortable rooms. Cute functional lobby. Decor is a littlle different than what you're used to. Convenient to everything the area has to offer. And they have showers as opposed to bathtubs! Pricy for this time of year, but used points to lower the cost. Will consider staying here in December when we are back for Sight & Sound.

I came to this hotel for one night for a stopper over to see family. It had a lovely reception with polite staff. Our room was small but clean. The beds were comfortable, and I liked that there was no carpet in the room. The breakfast was included, and it exceeded my expectations. I loved the fresh pancakes from a unique pancake maker. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations for the price.

I should begin by saying that I’m a big fan of the Tru by Hilton hotel chain (I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea!). I don’t mind the simplicity of the room design and appreciate the modern clean decor and amenities. Having said that, this particular property was a big disappointment and I would not return. The primary issue we faced was the lack of cleanliness. I don’t consider myself picky but it was obvious that our room had not been properly cleaned: hair, dirt, and dust all over the floors. Beyond that, the halls and common areas smelled and there was overflowing trash in several places. I’m not sure what the issue is but it was filthy. Additionally, there was not working AC in the lobby. Rather than addressing the problem, it seemed like the staff had just adapted and set up some box fans and acted like it was normal. It’s not normal. It’s hot. The lobby coffee was empty 90% of the time (usually refilled during breakfast but then that was it). The only positive I can name is that the staff, though clearly overwhelmed, were friendly. In short, there are so many good options in the area. Don’t stay here.
