We had an absolutely wonderful time! Al & Denise's hospitality is very gracious. They make you feel at home. Denise's breakfasts are out of this world. Very tasty and very elegant. She even went out of her way to accommodate my food allergies. The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. This B&B is located close to many things which makes it very convenient. We will be returning again in December with friends.

The owners are very friendly and welcoming. Their home is beutifully decorated and very clean.

Our breakfast was fresh, abundant and delicious. It was served in the charming dining room with pleasant music. This is great place to stay when visiting Lancaster. We had a wonderful time ! Thank you so much Denise and Al for a wonderful stay.

Over the years my Wife and I have stayed at many B&B’s in the USA and quite a few in Ireland and the UK but nothing compares to “A New Beginning” B&B. There’s a sign on the wall of the dining room that you see as your Host Denise greets you that says “Enter As Strangers, Leave as Friends”.
Many other B&B’s that we have stayed at we were customers, here we are guests, then friends, Denise and her husband Al make an effort to get to know you and share our adventures and lives, they also make the introductions with the other guests and before you know it there are lively conversations all around the breakfast table.
Oh and the breakfasts, all have 2 juices, coffee, teas, the meals usually start off with cut up fresh fruits followed by a breakfast entrée made with local ingredients such as stuffed French toast with local bacon or sausage. One morning we had an egg frittata with mushrooms and tomato, home fries and bacon. The meals are concluded with hot scones or muffins.
There is a guest sitting room with a couch, easy chairs and recliners where soft music plays all day, it’s a wonderful place to sit anytime and especially in the evening when Denise leaves out a plate of fresh baked snacks (my favorite the oatmeal raisin cookies) and juice or apple cider, there is also a Keurig if you wish coffee, tea or hot cocoa.
There are 4 rooms to choose from, each beautifully decorated with Americana, each room has special qualities, our favorite is actually the smallest and coziest and it’s appropriately called “Serenity”, but here’s the secret, it has the largest bathroom with a 1 person whirlpool tub.
Denise and Al are a treasure trove of local information, be it touring the Amish countryside, outlet shopping or finding a great place to dine.
As I said, Enter As Strangers, Leave as Friends.

In August, we stayed at A New Beginning for the second time. Al and Denise once again provided us with a quiet room and superb breakfasts. The B&B has an excellent location that allowed us to access the many Lancaster area destinations quickly and directly. Denise provided us with great recommendations for places to eat and stores to shop. We stayed at A New Beginning three years ago on our brief honeymoon and had been wanting to return. Our second visit was as wonderful as our first. This is a great place to stay when you visit Lancaster.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Denise and Al’s BNB. The location was convenient to a number of attractions, the rooms were comfortable and clean, and the service was wonderful. The front room (The Country Suite) was able to accommodate the three of us perfectly with my husband and I in the main bedroom and a little side room for our son, providing some privacy. Denise was able to accommodate our gluten free diet with ease. We even enjoyed afternoon gluten free chocolate cookies - a nice treat after our afternoon excursions. Our hosts were able to recommend good restaurants and attractions and were enjoyable to chat with. Highly recommended!

This place is absolutely wonderful! It's such a beautiful home, easy to see it's lovingly cared for. We stayed in the Victorian room which was very spacious, comfortable and beautifully furnished; there is also an attached balcony you can sit on. Denise & Al have thought of everything a guest might need, including body lotion, body wash and homemade soap, cold drinks in the mini fridge upstairs in the hallway, chocolates in your room, and coffee and tea. Besides all that, Denise cooks absolutely delicious breakfasts, she is a wonderful cook. She also sets the most beautiful table I have ever sat at. For breakfast, there was always a fresh fruit cup and at least two juices; one morning we had a cheese omelette, bacon and oatmeal raisin muffins; another morning, stuffed french toast casserole with blueberries and cream cheese, sausage and cinnamon pastries. She also made a baked treat for the guests every evening, usually served with cold lemonade. Besides the great food, Denise is a lovely, warm person and we had wonderful conversations after our breakfast. She was so helpful with suggestions about where to visit, etc. We are so happy we got to meet her and we recommend that you stay here next time you are visiting the area, you will be so glad you did. We definitely intend to visit Denise & Al in the future!

My husband and I had to be in Lancaster for a family wedding, and I am SO glad we found this beautiful stay right next to the venue. Denise was efficient, communicative, friendly, and made goshdarned delicious breakfast! I am quite "bougie" with my food but felt it necessary to take home an extra cranberry muffin (thanks for allowing that! ;D)

The room was so spacious and reminded me of what American Victorian style might be, if that were a term. The owners have adorned the house with such lovely and welcoming charms. Our bed was so comfortable, and I appreciate the in-room bathroom. Some older B/B's have bathrooms out in the hall.

Denise was a delight to speak with at breakfast. She also, thankfully, understood that we were in a rush to get to the wedding and also came back a little later so our timeliness for breakfast wasn't perfect, but she was grateful that I came down to let her know that we were still interested. She gave us great recommendations for stops in Lancaster as well. I didn't get to meet her partner, but I know that this is also their home. If you stop by, treat it well! I'd definitely recommend it, especially at a competitive price.

After an afternoon hiking Peters Mountain, checked into a cozy room at New Beginning B&B. Al and Denise were charming hosts. Everything we needed. Americana Room was appointed with themes items like family veteran photos. The delicious breakfast was stuffed french toast with cream cheese and strawberry jam and sausage. We had won a gift certificate at a Christian School silent auction, so we enjoyed the novelty of this delightful prize.

Al and Denise provided us with wonderful rooms (2) and outstanding breakfasts. They were not only tasty but beautifully presented. For our other meals, Denise gave us spot on recommendations for restaurants in the area. Sadly, many of them have gone out of business but Denise gave us names, addresses and often coupons for other restaurants in the area. They are very family oriented and eager to please in every way. The home is around 100 years old but they have completely redone the inside with antiques everywhere you look to maintain the atmosphere of the period when it was built. There are some quirks as with any older home. I recommend you select one of the rooms with a larger bathroom or the one with the porch. The hot coffee and tea were ready for us each morning when we got up and we had no difficulty navigating the cable TV or the WiFi. The parlor was very comfortable but unfortunately it didn’t get cold enough to start up the fireplace during our stay! Al provided us with turn-by-turn written directions to the airport to avoid morning traffic as much as possible!

We cannot improve on the rave reviews printed by others below. At first we were suspicious, but now, after staying with Denise and Al, we now believe those reviews! We stayed in the Victorian Room two nights. Each evening having our cocktail on our private porch and then an excellent dinner at the nearby Brasserie Restaurant which Denise recommended and provided for a meal discount. As you will read below, Denise’s breakfasts are spectacular. We loved the stuffed French toast! Conversations with Denise and Al truly draw you in and make you feel like family.

We saw a play at Sight and Sound Theater while in Lancaster. Next time we will make reservations for the theater through Denise, who can help with the best seat selection.
