The Double Tree Resort by Hilton in Lancaster, PA, is a hidden gem. It is a little off the beaten path but still accessible to the surrounding area. It is surrounded by rolling hills, golf course, and open fields while at the same time has conveniences close by. Across the street is a Giant supercenter a la Walmart with everything you could need. Next door is a CVS, nearby is McDonalds, pizza restaurant, pub, Starbucks. All while being only minutes away from the attractions of the area. In our case, we were there for the trains in Strasburg.

This hotel has an expansive lobby, cozy restaurant with delicious breakfast and dinners, and an amazing indoor water "playground" in addition to a huge indoor pool. The incredibly helpful front desk staff helped us with two children under 5 and recommended where to get everything we needed for Mom's birthday celebration (Giant). There was plenty of parking and many luggage carts. The connecting rooms were large with refrigerators and coffee makers. The beds were comfortable and the AC was quiet. It turned out to be the perfect place for our multi-generational family trip.

A short 15 minute drive took you to the "tourist" area where you could enjoy the usual chain restaurants and local attractions.

Stayed here for a couple of nights recently. The hotel has a very nice lobby and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was very clean and modern. They have two pool areas next to each other in separate rooms, one for children that is about 2 and a half feet deep with lots of fun things to do and a larger deeper pool which is more for adults and bigger kids. They have a restaurant and bar lounge area on sight. We ate at both and found the food to be good and the staff was excellent. We tried the Prime Rib Special which was excellent. At the bar we had mixed drinks for about $5 or $6 each which is very good
Compared to what I’m used to at most places outside of Lancaster. Breakfast was also very good with a buffet available or you can order from the menu. We were diamond members and breakfast was free so I don’t recall the prices. The buffet included made to order omelets that were excellent. Parking is ample, the hotel was full when we went and the parking lot still had many spaces available. Would definitely stay here again.

We took our grand daughter here for a getaway during a school break, and we all couldn't have been happier with the hotel. Online checkin and the virtual key on the Hilton App made choosing and accessing our room a breeze. We opted for a bit of an upgrade to a room with a sofa and got it no-charge since we are Hilton Gold members. The room, and the entire facility are in great shape, spotless, and unobtrusively observing the virus guidelines. Everything in the room worked, and with the exception of a smallish bathroom it was perfect. We were on the back side, 2nd floor, to be close to the pool and the view from our window was of the golf course and wedding chapel and was just lovely. Our primary reason for choosing this place was the pool for the kid, and although there are limited hours during the Covid rules, it was clean, warm, and overall well maintained.
All of the staff was helpful and friendly, the restaurant and lounge convenient with excellent service and good food. Room service is suspended but they do a nice job with takeout. There is a small shop next to the lobby with some essentials, and complimentary coffee at the front desk.
Be aware that there are several entrances that all work with your key access so you can park closer to your room than just at the front lobby.
Definitely recommend this hotel and we will likely stay here again.

Stayed here for 1 night by Presidents Day weekend. Had a $250 Hilton Aspire card credit to use up at a "resort", and this is the only resort within a 3 hour drive of the NYC area. Was pleasantly surprised. Rooms are large, resort is well priced, drinks at the bar (except for bourbon/scotch which was overpriced) were reasonable (beers $3-5, fun drinks $6, etc), pools are amazing for kids in the winter, gym is well stocked, and they even have a small arcade. They had a free reptile show the night I was there which was nice (though hard to hear as it was in the atrium which has a huge echo). Breakfast was free as a Diamond member for 2 adults and 2 kids under 5, and even for our 3rd it was only $5. The front desk was helpful and very courteous. My one complaint was when the heat/AC goes on and off, it makes a rather loud noise - it's only for a second, but each time this happened (and it happened many times in the middle of the night), it woke me up. But it's nice to know this resort exists within driving distance, and since it's not too far and not too expensive, I'd definitely look into going back.

We had an ok time here, mainly because the other activities we'd planned in the area were lots of fun. I'm questioning why Doubletree has decided to call this place a "resort." I suppose if you like playing golf, you might consider this a golf resort. Other than that, it's just a hotel with high prices, just ok food that's often not available, and a fun pool that's closed at random times, causing tears and heartache if you're traveling with kids. And for all this, you pay way above what other hotels in the area are charging.

The menu at the one restaurant is quite limited (think burgers and sandwiches), and the restaurant is fully closed Sundays and Mondays, so you have to find your own food. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, so it's not an issue to find food, but it would've been nice to be able to get a quick meal in the hotel between trips to the pool or a late night bite after a swim with the kids. No such luck on Sundays and Mondays.

The pool is really fun for kids, especially young kids. It's actually two separate pools - one large kiddy pool with the buckets that dump out and water sprays and a small slide. The other is more of a traditional pool but it has plenty of spots where kids can touch, which is great for playing. The main problem is that the pool has weird hours. The first time we tried to go (and went to the effort to get 2 preschoolers and an infant changed into swimsuits), we found it closed. I have no idea why it has to close in the morning and for a few hours in the middle of the day. I didn't see anyone cleaning it. Why can't it be open all day? Another day we were there for an hour, and an employee came to tell everyone the pool was closing for 2 hours. Some of the guests weren't aware of the schedule and had just jumped in, only to learn the pool would be closing for 2 hours in the middle of the day. WHY?! The kids were really disappointed, and so were the parents, as we were all paying top dollar to stay at this "resort" that is far from top notch. On top of that, on our last night, they closed the pool because of weather. It's an INDOOR POOL!!! The front desk said it's a state law that they must close for weather because one wall is totally glass, making it dangerous when there's lightening. So Doubletree should definitely think harder about building indoor pools that are subject to outdoor pool safety rules, but ok, the law is the law and we want to be safe. What was really frustrating, however, was that the weather cleared up, and the hotel was in no hurry to reopen the pool. Kids were crying, it was our last night, it was terrible. And there was nothing else to do at this so-called resort.

So, to sum up, for potential guests - this is not a resort. If you have to wander around town looking for food because the only restaurant is closed 2 days out of the week, it's not a resort. If you have to hang out in your room for hours waiting for the pool to open because there's nothing else to do on the property, it's not a resort.

We could've had just as good or possibly a better experience at a different hotel for half the price. I'll pass next time.

My family visited willow valley every year for 20+ years. My husband and decided it would be a nice weekend away for 20th anniversary. I would say it is just ok. Nothing exceptional and we paid a small fortune for a two night stay. We did not realize until late into the second day that we had to request housekeeping services. There was no mention of this at check in.

I am not sure what constitutes this place as a “resort”. There are no amenities , the restaurant/bar picks and chooses when it is open, and the “spa” isn’t even on site.

The hotel itself is clean and but we have stayed at other hotels for half the price and have gotten the same experience/service, if not better.

They charged us $50 for amenities which I found to be laughable considering we didn’t have any interaction with the staff and didn’t even get a clean towel the entire we were there.

We left bummed.

When we called & asked if the pool area was open, they said they were conducting maintenance during the week, but would be open 4 Feb. Surprise we arrived and the pool is only open Daily from 4-10pm. There is no lifeguard so not sure why it’s limited, but I’m sure there were a lot of bummed out kids, including mine. The hot tub closed and drained, front desk stated there was no opening date for the foreseeable future. . We were so looking forward to soaking. We feel taken advantage of. When we booked they want to charge an additional $45 per day for breakfast for a family of four, when we already pd. $475 for 2 nights. Front desk alerted us no room cleaning during our stay so there was a barrage of wet pool towels and garbage people piled up outside their doors. The adult pool pictures online are deceptive. It appears to be an olympic or large size. It is 5 ft deep in middle, 3ft on sides. It has a funny inlet in the middle. I will not be coming back.

I had the pleasure of staying for 2 nights at the hotel. I reserved a King accessible suite with roll-in shower. The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very large and easy to navigate with my motorized wheelchair. There were grab bars placed conveniently around the toilet and in the shower. The living room was nicely decorated and there were two very large screen TV's, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. The rooms were soundproofed very well and the thermostat for the A/C was very efficient and worked very well. The only problem was that the door to the suite was extremely heavy so if you are traveling alone it could be very difficult to open. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Stayed at the Doubletree since my wife had a craft show at the hotel and we had Hilton Honors points.
Very clean and comfortable hotel with a friendly and helpful staff.
Breakfast was $14/person in the cafe but was very good and well worth the money, and saved going out of the hotel to the local diner for breakfast.
Great pool and play area for the kids, and there were lots of families staying in the hotel.
The room layout (at least our room) was very thoughtful, with the living room and bathroom between the hallway and the bedroom so there was no hallway noise in the bedroom.
Only real "complaint" was that there were no USB ports in the room so recharging our phones was difficult. Quite odd for a hotel room in 2022.

We were there in June. The kids pool area was renovated. It was nice but geared towards small kids (8 and under). We spent our time in the main pool area which also has a hot tub. All of it was really nice. Main pool is big.

I just checked an email they sent me prior to staying and they figure the renovations to the water park will be done by the end of May. The work was underway while I was there two weeks ago. I figured it may take longer but give them a call at 717-464-2711 for the latest update.
