My kids (2 & 4) enjoyed the experience, however I was slightly disappointed with several aspects of this high priced ‘hotel.’

I would like to note, upon our arrival, the staff was very friendly, warm and welcoming. We checked in an hour prior to check-in time without any confusion or chaos.

Sadly, this hotel shines online but is a thorn in your side in person. The mere fact that the rooms are outdoors was an absolute no-no for me. This was when I realized the location was a remodeled motel. The staff person tried to sell it but eventually said... They get a lot of families who are disappointed by the location of the rooms. Terrible.

I was told a $250.00 fee would be charged if a pet was on the premises, however our room smelled just like wet dog with spiders that wouldn’t die when we tried to kill them. Immediately, I contacted the front desk staff because I refuse to be billed for a wet dog smell and we don’t even own a dog. The front desk staffer she was ‘supposed’ to send someone but that never happened. Not to mention, the bedding was just okay.

The arcade is very small, I would think disinfecting spray would be handy at all times in the virtual game rooms and arcade but that wasn’t happening especially with such a tight space.

I will say, our meal from the Cartoon Kitchen was good but overall not the best experience. I do not plan to return. I came home and searched for children themed hotels for future surprises for my kids.

It is possible the location will get better but for that amount of money a night. I will not subject myself to finding out if things change for the better.

Wishing the staff the best of luck.

karenkS5688UN, Thank you for this wonderful feedback, and for your willingness to share your experience from your stay. We are a 100% pet free hotel and there is not a "pet fee" that would be charged for a pet on property. I am going to follow up with this with our staff and make sure that we are conveying correct information on property. As as is required, we do have service animals on property from time to time, but we do not allow pets. Thank you again for the feedback from your stay.

My family stood in this hotel this weekend. I wanted to give some pros and cons to this hotel and perhaps in the future they can make improvements.
Pros:
3tvs
Nice and clean rooms
VR experience
Nice staff

Cons:
*Rooms at not located inside hotel
*Game room is super small with about 5 games
*Food was not too good and overpriced
*Not much to do at hotel
*Inside pool was cold
*Outdoor pool was extremely small

Overall, I was expecting more since this is supposed to be a cartoon network hotel. My son didn't have much to do so we had to visit other places and arcades to entertain ourselves. There are many other hotels in PA that have so much more to do. The hotel should expand their acarde and have more for their guest so that they can own up to their name.

I wanted to love this hotel because I waited soooo long for it. My daughter and I came last weekend and I could not believe my eyes when the "hotel" turned into a "motel". Unless you can shell out $500 for a suite, you are staying in a motel room. The doors open to the outside and the parking lot is not pretty. That was the first clue that this was not a NEW hotel I mean motel. The rooms are clean, but small. The TV didn't work but the guy who came fixed it right away and was so nice I was very forgiving. Stuff happens right? Well the stuff happened at the pool too. The hot tub was closed and the indoor pool was so crowded we could not enjoy it. So, we went inside. Well, stuff happened there too. I am not sure how the staff isn't crying but they manage to smile while trying to fix all the things that are broken. we couldn't play the VR games (the people in front of us only got halfway thru theirs and the employee said they needed to "calibrate it". Super bummed. But again - Cat was the nicest person I ever met. We wanted to try an activity but the space is so tiny and they were all sold out So, with no pool no games no VR no activity no hot tub - we went to eat. Thankfully that wasn't broken! Food was amazing. The ice cream "flight" was so creative. Vinny our server was fantastic. His smile lit up the whole place. And Meg! The restaurant manager! They made us forget all the broken things for little. But at the end of the day the employees can't make up for a building that is obviously old and just remodeled. The outdoor pool is filthy and uncovered and the powderpuff girls water fountain looks like it will be fun but for now, not much to do! I talked to Matt and Diana when we checked out and they both apologized and adjusted my bill. Nicest people ever but the great service can't make up for a broken motel. Such a shame.

My son came across the Cartoon Network hotel
Post on YouTube. He is a huge Cartoon Network fan and we promised to make the trip from VA to the hotel depending on his grades. Grades came home on Sunday Friday and we decided to honor the promise. We were on our way when he received a phone call from the hotel to tell us they had upgraded our room at no extra cost to a suite! That phone call alone made the kids (8 and 3) super excited, we arrived at the hotel a little before 4pm and were able to check in right away. The hotel lobby is fabulous, the front desk staff are extremely friendly and courteous, we were informed of the amenities, the restaurants inside the hotel, the arcade. We had a stroller so we got to use a lift (not an elevator) the kids loved every single thing leading up to the room and then finally we got to our room... when I say I had never seen my children happier I mean it! Talk about perfection for the kids, the suite has 2 bunk beds (4 beds total) each bed has their own TV, there is a spacious living room with a big TV, a small dining room with super comfortable chairs, a kitchenette with a sink, fridge, microwave, coffee maker. There is a bathroom at the entrance of the room with a bathtub, then there is a master bedroom with two full beds, a tv and a very spacious bathroom. We were starving but the kids didn’t want to leave the room... finally we convinced them and headed to the Cartoon Network kitchen, we were the only customers there l, Victor was our hostess and waiter, he let us choose our table and we sat next to two screens were Cartoon Network characters cooked and were running back and forth, the kids were entertained the entire time. When the food came we were pleasantly surprised, it was delicious! The service was great and everyone found something delicious on the menu. When we left we headed to the lobby where they have a few free interactive games. We made it back to our room to change to go to the indoor pool. The indoor pool is at a separate building (bit of a bummer) but because we knew this already we took jackets and extra clothes so we weren’t cold. The pool was small but enough for the kids to have a blast. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back as my son says this has been his favorite trip ever.

I found myself asking “why?” a lot this weekend.
Why didn’t Cartoon Network build a brand new hotel?
Why oh why did a cool company like Cartoon Network choose to renovate an old motel?
Why is the hot tub closed?
Why is the arcade so small?
Why did I have to wait 40 minutes to check in? And then why did I wait 3 more hours until my room was cleaned?
Why aren’t there more things to do in a kids hotel?
Why is Gumball the only character I saw?
Why was the VR sold out already?
Why don’t they "cook" in the ”kids kitchen”? (It’s activities for like six kids at a time, cramped like sardines) and why were the activities also sold out?
Why did my room smell like a sewer?
Why did my heater blow cold air?
Why could I hear people talking in the next room from the bathroom?
Why is the indoor pool actually an outdoor pool? You have to leave your room and make a mad dash in the freezing cold to get there (and then come back to a cold room I hope we do not get sick)
And finally...
Why did I stay here?

Look...great concept, poor execution. I just cannot believe that the absolute first Cartoon Network hotel is not new. And is a motel. The employees are so, so nice but you can tell they are caught in a bad situation. They are so stressed and it's obvious. The wait to check in was unacceptable and then after 40 minutes of waiting in a cramped lobby I find out the room isn’t even ready! It was chaos and they had weird barriers at the check in and registration was confusing I did not know where to stand. Super awkward! Chaos! The lobby was so crowded with lots of other guests waiting for rooms, there is no place to really sit except these weird colored "benches" and having Gumball come out for like five minutes was not enough to keep us occupied. After dinner (which was the one good thing, the burger was actually amazing) I could not believe there were still people waiting for their rooms to be cleaned! 9 at night! They seem to be woefully understaffed and not ready to be open. They have a lower level that is not even open so I don't know it they are expanding, but the property has really ugly surroundings (see the view from my room) and I would much, much rather go to Great Wolf Lodge for the money and have more to do! Cartoon Network - why???

We had a great weekend at the Cartoon Network Hotel. The staff are wonderful! We reserved a two queen room with shower. When you make your reservation you can request your preferred theme, it is only a request, but my son was thrilled to have an Adventure Time room. Everything about the room seemed brand new and was very clean. We enjoyed all our meals during a two night stay at the hotel. My son loved the themed food available and everything we had was delicious. There is a cafe where you can get a coffee, glass of wine and other snacks. They often had activities happening or characters were out meeting guests. We enjoyed the outdoor movie night! Both outdoor and indoor pools are very nice, they also have a large outdoor splash pad. The indoor pool even has a little kiddie pool. The gift shop is also very nice with a large variety. I felt the staff did a great job making sure everyone had a mask on, I often saw staff cleaning and the restaurant staff made sure everyone was socially distanced. We have not traveled much the past few months because of COVID-19, but we definitely felt comfortable here and cannot wait to return!

We went to celebrate one of my three boys’ birthday and they ALL loved it! They are 7, 9 & 10. The TVs on the bunk beds were a huge hit - the room wasn’t that big but for one night it was fine. You do have to walk from your rooms outside to inside main hotel where the food and activities are. Two of my boys are gluten free and one has Celiac and is very picky — but their GF food option were perfect. Our waitress was amazing and took the time to double check on anything we needed GF. We had the same waitress for dinner Saturday and breakfast Sunday and when she saw us she said she made sure to ask about the GF breakfast options in case she had us again. She took the time to make our stay personal. Our boys loved the virtual game. The indoor pool was nice, but only could stay for 1 hr due to Covid, we wish the weather was better so we could do the outdoor pool but it looked nice too. None of our boys wanted to leave and asked when we can go back.

Cons- the food was amazing GF and regular but very expensive & menus don’t have the prices. And game room was very small and only one prize machine which sometimes would back up. Bedroom was pretty small for a family of 5.

We came in the middle of COVID restrictions in PA, so we knew going in activities were limited. Felt super safe, but it was sad that arcade and activities were not allowed to operate. Room was fine, my son loved the bunk beds. No where to sit other than the beds, but didn’t spend tremendous time in room other than to sleep. The TV had an issue, not all channels worked, we had someone come look at it, they claimed it was a dish network issue, we stayed 2 nights it was never resolved. We did gingerbread house making with Lou, he is GREAT. He definitely loves working there and wants everyone to have a nice time, employees like that are few and far between these days. Food is not very good, we ordered breakfast and pancakes were very blond, and not edible. I did order a latte in the cafe, which was as excellent, I was totally expecting it to be overly sweet but it was perfect. I will come back because my son loved it, but definitely need to work on the food. Also there were no trash bags in the miniature room trash cans, we had to use our own plastic bags that were had with us. We left them outside our door and housekeeping walked right by them, had to call the desk to have them picked up.

It was so bad that we checked in and asked for a refund after 10 minutes of being in our room. First this is a Motel not a Hotel you drive up to your very small room. You have to walk outside to get to the outdoor pool(not mentioned on the website or when I called and asked about the indoor pool), so in 30 degree weather it was not ideal. I was willing to let that go but after going down to the pool it was nothing worth staying for. It was a small round pool nothing else, the water was foggy and you could see dirt on the bottom. Both hot tubs were drained and out of order. Also the arcade has about 8 games and they had no activities or anything else for the kids to do. Rather then stay stuck in a tiny room all day we went home. It really ruined our weekend plans and the kids were super disappointed. One good thing was that they were very understanding and gave me a complete refund.

I wanted to love it.... clean rooms were a plus! Cute themes but the indoor pool was awful. Murky water, hot tub broken and a kiddie pool that looked dirty! I really hope chlorine levels were up to par so kids dont get sick. Pool was very tiny and very very crowded! It was very cold in the the indoor pool area, heat should have been at 80! Also no lounge chairs and only just a few chairs if you were one of the lucky ones to grab them. We brought our own towels luckily and they didn't bring them out till at least 11 am! Food was ok very expensive! There should be some sort of continental breakfast included with the price we paid!
