Our first time staying at this hotel and we were very pleased. Cute and kind of quaint. They were in the midst of a remodel in one wing of the hotel but there was almost no noise or interference. The front desk was fast and friendly. The entire hotel was spotless anywhere you looked. The room was surprisingly large, only one disappointment…no fridge in the room. 24 hour free coffee and tea available. Big plus, it was Ellis coffee which is still one of the best around. They offered a nice little complimentary breakfast in each wing so you didn’t even have to leave your area of the hotel. The pool/hot tub was very nice. Check out was quick and again a friendly young man at the desk. Great location to area attractions as well.

I stayed three nights at the Country Inn of Lancaster and have never been so impressed with the service or cleanliness of any previous hotel. A lot of the credit goes to the Assistant Manager, Emily Opple, who made it her personal mission to ensure each and every guest was treated like royalty. OBTW, I have no previous relationship with Ms. Opple or any of her friends or family. Check-in at the Country Inn of Lancaster was the first time we had met. Nor do I have any affiliation with Country Inns of Lancaster. The cleanliness of the rooms and common areas is impressive to say the least. Our bicycle touring group enjoyed great breakfasts in the hotel’s restaurant and the staff there was just as service oriented as Ms. Opple. The cleaning staff followed suit as well. For example, I let my key card get too close to my cell phone which rendered it useless for opening my room door. One of the staff noticed and, after letting me in my room, informed the front desk. I did not ask the maid to do that. She did it of her own volition. Within a few minutes Ms. Opple knocked on my door with fresh keys. That’s service you don’t get at premium hotels and service that will make Country Inn of Lancaster one of my absolute favorite places for future stays. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Away from the hustle and bustle is the country inn. There is a lot of things that have changed about the hotel over the years. Certainly now with the coronavirus One thing is certain is that it’s away from the noise. Choose a balcony and enjoy the relaxation of the rocking chairs.

Although wine is no longer offered as an incidental in each room because of the pandemic, ask the front desk and they will sell you a bottle of a local wine. If you need a refrigerator – – ask for it and they will get you one.

Meet the resident hotel cat Known as gizmo, red, and Garfield. Don’t be afraid to pet him because he’s very friendly.

Because of the virus, the country and no longer offers breakfast. If that’s a disappointment I’m sorry but we are in the middle of a pandemic. There are plenty of restaurants that can serve you breakfast, lunch and dinner.

If there’s a problem or an issue with your room, contact the front desk and they will fix it as soon as they can. Because of the virus The rooms are not cleaned on a daily basis. However, ask the front desk for new linens and towels if you need them.

Enjoy your stay and the opportunity to get away from it all.

We have stayed here several times. The Staff are the most friendliest we've ever come across and very helpful. The hotel has a warm/heated pool and a hot tub and has the feel of swimming in a greenhouse, which allows an outside view from all angles. It's really cool when your there in the winter and it's snowing outside. The decor is very country style and homey and always VERY Clean. Rooms give the feel of being in a very homey clean cabin. The breakfast area is well manned. And having coffee and juice 24/7 is great. The hotel is right on Rt 30, and has a traffic light to get in and out of safely. And the way the parking lot is layed out gives it the "almost secluded" feel. With the restaurant next door, it would be a good place for a quick get together for small type reunions, rehearsal dinners and afterwards.

We had stayed here before years ago and remember liking it. This time however was awful!
First they put us in the 2nd building which had an awful smell through out.
We asked to be moved and had to take a room without a balcony and refrigerator…for the price you pay per night they should all have refrigerators.
Then when we went to go to bed there were long black hairs on the sheets.
We had to go get sheets and make the bed before we could sleep in it.
Again for the price you pay, it should be ready to use when you arrive.
The breakfast was grab and go…
The only good thing was location to where we wanted to go.

Came here with a group of friends. After seeing the pictures online we were excited to try out what looked like a quaint hotel. Sadly, it was more old and dated than quaint. The lobby was "homey" but dated. Overall the main building had a musty smell throughout. Two of my friends had difficulty breathing in the room. They had to check out 7 rooms before they found one that did not have as strong of a smell and didn't affect their breathing. One of our rooms was in the second building. I read a review that it was a slightly long walk. I can't say I agree with that. It takes about a minute to walk from one building to the other. What was confusing is that the room was a 400 numbered room but those rooms were on the second floor. More confusing is when you step off the elevator and read the signs as to which direction your room was in, they were wrong. Found the room and happy to say it was not musty smelling. However, the bathroom sink was slow to drain (filled even when simply washing hands) and there were ants crawling on the table. The room was definitely dated but it was clean. A big positive, in my opinion, was that each side table by the bed had electrical outlets on the wall just above them. That made charging cell phones easy. Another positive was the front desk staff were friendly and helped answer any of our questions. The bucket of chocolates was a nice gesture too! The lobby has 2 seating areas to enjoy. Coffee, tea and popcorn were available to the guests. Bottled water was available at the front desk, upon request.
All in all, it was not terrible but, unfortunately, it is not a place I would recommend to friends coming to the area.

Full disclosure, my daughters though she was booking Country Inn And Suites, This ain't them.
The property is located off the roadway and not clearly visible from the street. When you pull in it it is just a tired looking motel in the middle of the parking lot. The lobby is dark and overfull with Americana. The front desk staff was not overly welcoming and she ran though the beverage and dinning information so quickly that neither of us knew what time breakfast was served.
We were assigned a 400 room. That is not the fourth floor, it is the second floor of building two located a slightly long walk or in our case move the car from the front building. We were given two keys, only one worked to access the building.
Again, entering this building was like entering a cave. VERY dark, no clear signage.
Our room, again very dark. The building has a wrap around covered porch with rockers but the end result is no natural light in the room.
2nd impression of the room as a moldy smell. ( the front desk said there was no mold, the smell was there because people used the A/C (Huh???)
No "hotel" book in the room, but was in the drawers were socks and under ware from a previous guest. SO the big question is how clean was the rest of the room?
This was also brought to the attention of the front desk, no apologies, no rate reduction, we were told that they were there because the hotel had a major upgrade pending. HUH???
There are two many options in the area, give this one a skip.

We have stayed at Country Inn of Lancaster for years and have highly recommended it to others in the past. However, this stay was the worst!! So disappointed. The room was dark and dreary, The light on the dresser did not work. On our second day the beds were not made...I can live with that. But the waste baskets were not dumped (they were full), the dirty towels were never removed, clean towels were not left, we had to go ask for clean towels. They no longer offer morning coffee. When asked about it the desk attendants comment was rude.
The only reason I am not giving it just one star is because the halls and pool area was clean.

Very popular and very busy but staff very helpful. Rooms although dated were comfortable and the lobby very welcoming with free drinks and snacks .
Downside was facilities for breakfast which was very loosely described as continental ( we clearly have not been there yet!) . Only 2 very small dining rooms for over 200 rooms mad breakfast a bit of a rugby scrum and food on offer kept running out with very few staff on hand. That aside good nights rest.

This hotel is located right beside the very busy road and it is hard to get in or out of the property. It is old and needs serious updates. It does NOT offer a microwave or mini fridge in the rooms. I had to have them switch my room so that I had a refrigerator. The mattresses are lumpy yet soft and it was hard to sleep on them. I took a vacation with my wife and two sons aged 7 and 12 years. The "breakfast" was a bare minimum and do not count on them having much. The selection is meager at best. That said the pool was clean and fun. This property is beautiful yet in a bad location. There is not much for a kid to enjoy here.
