We stayed in the Bowman Suite for our 23rd-anniversary getaway. The suite was delightful with both period artwork, comfortable furniture, and a cozy king bed. (And generous heating — necessary during a cold February!) Diane and Scott were excellent hosts and cooks; the first order of business upon arrival was a tour of the amenities offered. Breakfasts were tasty, filling, and beautifully presented. Scott is an excellent source of suggestions on local food and attractions; he even put us on to something in downtown Lancaster that we had walked by many times without noticing. Part of the reason for picking Bowman House was its proximity to downtown Lancaster and Lititz; the other was our curiosity about this lovely house that we had passed so often over the years. Curiosity happily satisfied, and we recommend Bowman House for anyone vacationing in the Lancaster area.…
The moment you enter The Bowman House you are greeted by the inn keepers. Their gentle nature, kindness, and ability to listen to detail will make your stay perfect. This was our second time at this beautiful home We look forward to returning this summer.
Beautiful home at an excellent location, close to many attractions. The rooms and grounds were beautifully decorated. Scott and Diane were extremely helpful and friendly, provided many suggestions for things to do. The breakfast was amazing and super delicious!
Absolutely wonderful stay! Scott and Diane are friendly and welcoming. The home and grounds are beautiful. Breakfast was the highlight of our day. So very good! Our room, Witmer Room, was warm and comfortable. In cooler weather, there is a fireplace and heated bathroom tiles. Plush towels and splendid sheets. Coffee , drinks and snacks offered 24 hours. We would love to visit again.
My husband and I have stayed in many bnb's over the years, but none have been anything near as perfect as the EJ Bowman House. From the beautiful gardens, the koi pond, near where we sat one evening to relax amongst the surrounding beauty of the landscape, the incredible breakfasts, the delicious cookies and other snacks available all day and night, our spotless room, and the many sitting areas scattered throughout the house in which one can just relax and chill, this is now our home away from home whenever we visit the area. Diane and Scot are friendly, caring hosts who catered to my husband's dietary needs without a hitch! We loved that they sat with us all at breakfast to chat and get to know a little about their guests. We can't say enough about this beautiful bnb. So glad we found it!…
Pre-Covid we spent 4 months driving around the country stopping at various hotels, AirBnBs, and B & Bs. Fast forward to 2022 and we’re doing it again. We left Seattle in early July and in late August we arrived at the EJ Bowman House B & B. After driving around the country for 20,000 miles we can say the E J Bowman House B & B is one of the best accommodations we have stayed in. The hosts are knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. The decor, history, and attention to detail is remarkable. Specific amenities available 24/7 that we appreciated are: Free Lattes Chocolate Chip Cookies Garden in the backyard Gourmet cooking Various munchies The one and only negative I can think of is there is no elevator. However I am 66 and I would gladly carry all my luggage up those stairs again just to stay there.…
One of the most pleasurable bed and breakfast stays we have experienced in our travels. Scott and Diane went above and beyond to make sure that our every need was met and made us feel like we were one of the family. They were very knowledgeable of the area and offered suggestions of sites to see. Scott gave us handouts of the various sites and had even developed a personal detailed guide for seeing the covered bridges and special stops in the area. The room was very comfortable and well stocked with amenities. Thoroughly enjoyed the snacks and drinks available throughout the day and night. Would highly recommend this B&B as the first option for anyone traveling thru the area.
We are just finishing a 3-night stay and it has been a fantastic experience. We arrived and walked through amazing gardens to get to the house. The yard is lovely with many different little sitting nooks. We were welcomed by both Diane and Scott who gave us a tour of the house and chatted about our plans and made recommendations. There are a lot of nice little extras, like home made cookies, carafes to bring water to your room, snack baskets, on demand coffee, etc. There are samples of handmade soap and lotions in the bathroom. Breakfast has been delicious, varied, and fun as everyone staying at the B&B sit at a large family table at the same time. So you meet people from all over, you talk about why you're there, what you've done, what you're going to do, don't eat at that restaurant, eat at this one. After breakfast is served, Diane and Scott sit with the group and answer questions about the area. We really enjoyed staying here. The bed was comfortable and quiet, the hosts lovely, and the location central. I would come back eagerly.…
