As a traveler to Lancaster, it's hard to beat the location of this hotel for easy downtown jaunts. It's just close to everything....shoppes, restaurants, the Fulton Theatre, Central Market and cool coffee shops. I've never had a problem with my experiences here. The accommodations are clean and modern and service has always been pleasant. Each room has its own Keurig single-serve coffee maker, which I enjoyed having. The ONLY thing to keep in mind is the parking arrangement with the adjacent parking lot. If you're going to park there, be sure to get a "ticket" at the front desk. Parking there is $12 a day with unlimited in/out allowed. A big PLUS: the Imperial restaurant on street level and the beautiful bar attached. Nice to have a nightcap downstairs and return to your room via the elevator instead of by driving.

We were staying in this area visiting family for an important event. This location was close by to our family and the event we would be attending. The hotel was neat and clean. They still had a number of COVID steps they were taking. We had been had been gone from the room and I had asked about housekeeping not coming to the room. They told me at the front desk that I should have been informed they were not cleaning rooms every day, but we were not. If I wanted clean towels or anything else I needed to call or come to the front desk. We were also not informed there was no breakfast or coffee in the mornings (which we had had at another Holiday Inn we stayed at in PA the night before). However, when I came down the first morning, there was a collection of "to go" breakfast boxes on a large table with a sign to take only one per person. I went to look and was asked if I had pre-registered for a breakfast with the group. Apparently, this was for a specific group, but there was no sign indicating that this was for a specific party. Otherwise, I would have never gone over to check. I felt a little embarrassed.

The hotel restaurant is not open yet and those in the immediate area seem to close around 7pm. So, we tended to have to drive a little bit to have or pick up dinner in the evenings. There is also construction going on right next door. Even though we were a few floors up, during the week we could hear it early in the AM.

The hotel itself is well maintained. The lobby is very spacious. The rooms also look like they may have recently been renovated. There were a number of charging ports for mobile devices. I like the fact there is a table that pulls out that you can use as a desk or move to other areas to sit and use rather than having a fixed desk location.

My dad and I both had rooms, and since I know he won’t write a review, I’ll include both our experiences…
Dad- He specifically asked if there was daily housekeeping and was told yes. He asked twice. The first day he did not get it. Second day he did but also got a non functioning toilet in the process somehow. One of their keys did not work after checking in and a new one being made then caused the other one to stop working. He was particularly upset there was not coffee available before the restaurant opened at 7 and was super annoyed it was only grab and go breakfast Monday and Tuesday.

Me- Since my dad was told there was housekeeping I didn’t ask. Big mistake! I have two toddlers which lead to huge messes when eating that grab and go breakfast in our room and a lot of smelly trash! I tried calling the front desk to ask about it and the phone did not work. My room was not ready until 3 hours after check in. I was told they’d comp parking but did not. Speaking of parking, the structure is a nightmare! It’s not run by the hotel, but staff did know the steps and elevator were out of service and did not warn us. Walking through that with two toddlers was scary. The cribs I requested were not in the room when it finally was ready. I had to remind them at check in that I paid for breakfast, and the restaurant hostess told me they often forget and it’s a hassle for her. My husband asked the night front desk person a question and he basically said he did not know because he just worked night. What?!?! Our bathroom tub stopper was broken, shower made a terrible knocking noise, and the door would stick so bad we tried not to close it. Another minor issue was the pool was not heated, but their site claims it is. If the front desk staff had been kind and maybe even just better trained I would’ve forgiven the rest and given 5 stars. But their rudeness really just makes it hard to give a good review or recommend this hotel at all. The woman who handled my check out was the only one who did seem to know what she was doing and was nice. The other three people we dealt with sucked.

This location is great, stayed here for a volleyball tournament. Staff is friendly and helpful, especially Jeffery. I had to make a change to my accommodations and he was so kind over the phone, but even kinder in person. The hotel was bustling with people checking in, he was so calm, and efficient.
Highly recommend!

The rooms were clean and looks like they've been renovated. Small room fridge looked new but it had no thermostat. Fridge could have been colder but no freezer compartment which comes in handy to freeze ice packs or whatever for traveling. There was also no room safe.

No hot breakfast because of the Big Covid experience but you did get a muffin and bottle of something to drink upon checkout if you want.

The parking garage for the hotel is right next to the hotel. There's a place to park (limited spaces) temporarily so one can check in and unload the car. There was Handicapped parking in the garage but I didn't see them until I left the next morning when I left the garage. So if you need a Handicap parking space ask where they are when you check in. I parked on the 3rd level ( not fun). The garage elevator closet to the hotel lobby was out of service as of 6/5/21. Might be working now.

They also charge your credit card and extra $50 to cover incidentals but that credited after check out.

Arrived on NYE and was greeted by pleasant but clearly inexperienced girl on reception. I think it may have been her first day as she was reading from instructions stuck to the desk. Found it unfathomable that she had no management supervision with her on a busy night when the hotel was completely full. Also zero recognition as an IHG Rewards Club Member.

Checked in and asked to add breakfast for the next day. She added this to the pre-authorisation amount. Went down for breakfast the next day and was denied entry because we didn't have breakfast vouchers. We weren't given any on check in. Furthermore when we went to the front desk to enquire about this we were told there was no record of us adding breakfast. We were made to feel like we were lying. All the while there was a copy of our pre-authorisation just sitting there which would have confirmed we had added breakfast. Very disappointing experience.

Next day after an outing we went back to our rooms only to find the room keys didn't work (this even happened on going to our rooms after check in). The girl initially hadn't activated them and then when she did seemingly only activated for one night.
There seems to be a real lack of attention to detail on customer experience. I wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend it.

Hello Iammmattdoran, Thank you for sharing your feedback. I would like to start by apologizing to you for the inconveniences you faced during your stay. It is unfortunate though that we were not able to elevate your stay experience with us as a result of the service provided and the lack of efficiency. We have forwarded these concerns to our Management Team so that the necessary changes can be made, so we can provide a better experience in the future. At the end of the day, it is the smile that we see in our guests and the joy that you share of your stay that we always look forward to. I hope you will give us a chance by booking with us again to show you that your unsatisfactory stay was an exception. Again, thank you for sharing your comments. Safe travels. RACISM is real - this is my experience after staying at this hotel. Welcome to this racist hotel where you need wait for TWO hours to check in and receive no apology -- all just because you are not white!

Arrived on July 25 afternoon, was made to wait for two hours to check in with my husband and two kids! There was no apology or honest answer as why our room couldn't be ready and had to wait for two hours to clean it up.

During the two hour wait, many groups of guests arrived after us. Lots of them families, just like us, were able to check in no problems, no wait.

There were 2 or 3 groups who had to wait a bit but they were offered complimentary drinks immediately. We were only given two drinks after one hour.

When I asked the man in white shirt behind the front desk, why other guests arriving after us could check in quickly but we had to wait, his attitude was very offensive and offered no apologies at all.
The only difference I noticed, between me and other guests, were that I am not white.

If you are not white, be prepared to wait because this hotel will put you on the end of their list and accommodate white people first. Absolutely horrible!

What can I say?!I have never had so bad experience with any hotels. I would never choose this hotel again.

Not sure how to say this except to say: body hair on the toilet paper roll, no bag nor ice bucket, no cups and they ran out of soap. The bathtub was cracked in multiple places and it just didn’t feel clean or updated. The parking garage - that you will pay for - smelled terrible and wasn’t nice but did feel semi safe to park your car.

We decided to stay here for 1 night only to be close to the city. Room was facing a concrete wall (a new parking house has just been built in front of the back of the hotel, yay!), otherwise view would have been nice. Curtain half-broken, smell in the room is not that great.

Location is good, close to everything. Staff was helpful.

15 min long drop-off in front of the hotel, also parking is available in the opposite parking house for some extras.

We traveled to Lancaster as a family with many other families for a travel basketball tourney at Spooky Nook. This hotel did a great job w their Covid safety protocols and were also extremely friendly and accommodating to our entire group of families. Kim was especially wonderful, finding a safe place for my family’s bicycles and finding special areas for our team functions. She made our stay perfect. Our rooms were clean and just right. We ordered takeout one night from the downstairs restaurant and thought it was excellent. There is also a brewery close by (Lancaster Brewing Co) that we loved (outdoor seating, great food and beer).
Thumbs up on a great stay!

Hello thank you for your question and we apologize it has taken so long to respond. Absolutely all of our rooms have bathtub/shower combos. Although we do have a few handicap rooms that only have the roll-in shower which could have been what you were reading. If they are the only rooms left during a particular day we will rent them. Typically though they are reserved for only our handicap guests. I hope this answers your questions. Should you have any more feel free to contact me directly at: Tom Showalter Guest Services The Hotel Lancaster 717.394.0900 Ext. 1105
