Lovely boutique hotel in the heart of historic Lancaster. They have a nice restaurant and bar. The rooms are lovely, clean and comfortable. We always choose to stay in this hotel on our trips to Lancaster. There are nice restaurants nearby as well. The hotel breakfast is sufficient but mediocre.
Hotel inside and out is really nice, a very welcoming feeling as soon as I stepped through the door. Room was pretty good, comfy, clean, just perfect. Great location for easy walking distance from the nearby train station. Loved the idea of a sketch pad in the room, sadly creative spark was a little lacking after a days travelling. Wish I had booked more than the one night here, as the hotel and area is really nice. If you stay here, I recommend a quick walk around the corner and check out The Fridge, especially if you like various beers and tasty pizza.
Interesting decor- greeted promptly at reception and checked in- Nice room but overpowering “freshener” odor- Weird location for fitness center but you can use the Y across the street- Overall ok but would try another hotel if we visit Lancaster again
We had always wanted to try the LAH, a gay-friendly boutique hotel/museum at the edge of the city. The 1880s structure was originally a tobacco warehouse, ironic now given the hotel's smoke-free policy. The WOW factor earns our five-star rating, despite thin interior walls and single-glazed windows. Brick walls and local art abound in the lobby, hallways, and elevator (okay, no brick in the elevator), and there are sketch pads in each room to encourage artistic expression. Mornings were met by a substantial "continental breakfast," including an automatic pancake griddler. I highly recommend this blessed haven. We'll definitely return.
This was a surprise overnight stay for my husband’s birthday. We are Lancaster locals who have stayed at the hotel in the past. The staff helped me with the surprise and shared in the excitement. The room was beautiful and the king-sized bed and pillows were so comfortable. I highly recommend the Lancaster Arts Hotel for any and all special occasion!
Not great, would pass. Customer service lacked went to the restaurant in attempted to get a coffee drink at night to warm up and they didn’t have any stating that they dumped it out already. Ask for a cup of tea and they said that it would take too long for the water to heat up. Rooms were average, we had the 2 bedroom suite. Some dings and dents and paint touch ups needed. Jacuzzi didn’t work fully. Kind of a flop 40th birthday stay.
Our guests enjoyed their stay very much. They would have liked to stay longer but our sales summit was only one day. Central location with well-appointed rooms, free breakfast but our guests had breakfast with the group on the meeting site.
What a great place to stay, love the character of the hotel. When my wife and I checked in (staying for our anniversary) we were greeted and since they were sold out we were one of the lucky upgrades to a suite, such a pleasant surprise!!! Room was spacious and clean. Later that night we had a few drinks and desserts at the hotel bar, our bartender was great she was personable and made sure we were well taken care of!
Disappointing, due to high expectations because of the reviews here. Not as clean as I'd like. Weary furniture and textiles. Breakfast not worth the calories. It is quiet. There is easy parking. The employees were well trained and kind.
I made a reservation earlier the same day supplying a credit card number. When I got to the hotel that evening, they asked for my driver’s license and credit card and started to physically copy both of them because their computers were down. I protested and asked for the paper copy to be returned to me, as did not want the documents sitting on a desk unsecured. Despite the fact that they could see my reservation in some part of their computer system and that I showed them my confirmation email with credit card information, they would not give me a room unless I let them copy my license and credit card. I left and stayed at a Hilton property. If you want your identity stolen or unauthorized charges placed on your credit card because your personal information is on a piece of paper left in an unattended easily accessible office in a lobby next to a restaurant entrance, go ahead and stay at this hotel.…
