Detailed Reviews
Mariah B wrote a review Jul 2024

I have mixed feelings about my stay. I paid extra to book this hotel through Sesame Place, as it was highly rated and a lot of people said it was very clean. It was also very close to sesame place and seemed very family friendly as there were a lot of other families visiting. Here are the pros and cons:

Pros: Hotel was clean in general. The patio area looked new and a nice space to relax. The staff were very nice. Breakfast buffet had a lot of choices and the food was delicious and fresh. I liked the sesame place decor and the gifts that my children received was a nice gesture.

Con: There was a big stain on our bedsheet and on 2 towels. They both smelled clean but the stain was just off putting. I brought it to the attention of the front desk and requested they please change and give us new sheets and towels which they did. The manager asked me to become a Marriott Bonvoy member so he could put 25,000 points on my account for the inconvenience. I didn’t even know what that was since this was my first stay at a Marriott. He explained and signed me up. I logged in to check a few days later and it says I have 0 points, so he never added the points.

They advertise on the website the new pergola and fire pit, but the fire pit did not work and when I asked the front desk about about it the gentlemen said it won’t be working because they don’t have gas for it (I think he was referring to propane). My kids wanted to make s'mores and we went and brought the supplies only to find out we couldn’t use the fire pit.

There’s no microwave in the room and the mini fridge is very tiny with no freezer.

I booked the room for 2 adults and 2 kids, but we were only given items for 3 people (3 washcloths, 3 towels, etc) and I had to keep calling the front desk for extra items.

Lastly, they did not clean our room and refresh towels daily. It was only every other day.

Overall, we had an okay stay. Wasn’t phenomenal, but wasn’t the worst either. All issues are easy changes that the hotel can make to ensure a better future stay. Still up in the air as to whether I will come back here again. We have sesame place season passes but live 2 hours away and plan to visit at least 5 or more times this year. I sent the review directly to the hotel and got an email from Antoni Fobbs that the information was being forwarded and my claims reviewed but never heard back after that.

I wanted to stay at the hotel across from steamer place but their pool was down for construction so I chose this one less than 5 min away from awesome place I chose it bc it had a pool and I need to constantly keep my kids active until they go to sleep we did not use the pool bc it was mirky and dirty under my standards so we hung out in the courtyard the staff was very accommodating and turned the fire pit on as it was a chilly night the food staff was absolutely amazing food was expensive but delicious we had dinner and breakfast and it was great they were extremely accommodating and they probably should be getting paid a lot more than what they are bc they truly went above and beyond to make sure we were good and had everything we needed. Front desk gentleman was grey at check in and the woman who checked me out they made sure my e-gift card was used for my stay and food purchases as I requested. Room was clean although we did find hair in the shower I just washed it down I don’t blame the workers they just don’t get paid enough and I know they prob have to rush to get all the rooms done did I like or appreciate seeing that of course not but it is what it is the beds were extremely comfy!! I’m only an hour away and I wish I would’ve driven home and used my e-gift card for maybe a more luxurious stay in Manhattan or something but overall everything worked out awesome place was cute very small park half the rides were closed opened up later in the day as we weee there in a weekday (Monday) my daughter got hurt on the blue roller coaster she hit right under her eye the park did nothing to accommodate her except for offer ice I don’t think I’d be going back to this hotel or to sesame place.

We were driving quite awhile, from Ohio to Philadelphia and beyond (a total of 2200 mi) to see my sister, family, and friends. We hadn't made firm hotel plans and I was able to log onto the Marriott site, for which I have been a loyal visitor. I found their phone number and was able to get a reasonable rate for our night's stay, to be refreshed, before visiting family, who were dealing with major health issues. We got a great room, were treated very well for our late arrival, and got a great nights' rest for a challenging couple of days.

Disgusting Disgusting Disgusting. Only talking their customer service. Had a room booked for a wrestling tournament and my son suffered a concussion the night before. When I called to cancel our room I was told there would be no refunds 24 hours prior to check-in. The call was made at 4:14, check-in is at 4 so exactly 23 hours and 46 minutes. This is a decision that is solely at the discretion of the property and front desk so not Marriott Corporate. Karma, oh please

Some parts look updated but needs some maintenance.

Also, the pullout couch is a twin, not a double or queen. The room capacity says 4, which would lead someone booking this hotel to believe that there is sleeping space for 4. This could only be accomplished if you put a rollaway bed in the room, or have a child sleep in the king bed with two adults.

We stayed here for a trip to Sesame Place. Certain things have been updated like the outside of the hotel, the lobby, and the bathrooms. It’s clean. Unfortunately, they were out of rollaway beds so we put one child on the pull out and the other on the couch cushion with a sheet. Not ideal.

The furniture in the rooms looks like it needs replacing and some pieces are torn up and stained. Also, room smelled musty when first went in.

As a frequent traveler this is by far the worst experience I've had at a hotel ever. The fire alarm went off at least 4 times between 10:00pm and 4:00am and when asking about it at the front desk the next morning, the smug faced clerk kept repeating "it's a faulty alarm and there's nothing we can do". Well, there's no way that kind of service deserves my business. Goodbye Courtyard Langhorne!!!!!!

Dear Chris, On behalf of the Courtyard family I sincerely apologize for the experience you had at our hotel. Contrary to what the agent stated, the fire alarms were working as they should. A guest in one of our rooms was smoking and it caused the smoke detector to clog causing a constant alert, as it should, letting us know there was something further wrong with that particular room. As far as the face of the employee I have spoken to her and I have also informed her of the correct response in those situations. I seriously hope you reconsider your resolve of never return to our hotel, I truly believe your next stay Kindest Regards, TonyGM

TV didn't work and they charged my credit card $270, when they had invoiced me at checkout for $154. When I questioned it Antoni, the General Manager, said it was a hold and he would credit it.
I checked in, and out, with the mobile app, I never authorized this charge. I've stayed there in the past and didn't have this charge probably wont stay there again.
Why didn't the receipt say anything about this charge?
Why did I have to ask for a credit?
Why was it still on my statement a day later?

Be careful staying here!

Hello Mr. RobertrL9143OG, Thank you again for this review and again after our phone conversation I do apologize for your inconvenience. With that being said when we spoke, I never said we "had to credit you back" anything. I said it was/is a incidental hold that every hotel has that will fall off within 3-7 business days. Your response was "if the amount was $20 you wouldn't call but because it is a $100 hold it's a problem because you weren't informed." Again, I am sorry about the TV we've awarded you 5000 points, but we are a hotel of integrity and therefore we do nothing underhanded and I stick by the policies we've developed. Best Regards, TonyGM

My fiance and I are getting married this May and found out on Monday, 2/17 that the hotel we had a room block with closed. We had already sent out our invitations with all our room block information and had arranged for shuttle service to take our guests to and from the venue and our hotel. We, obviously, were frantic to find a new hotel in such short notice and started calling and emailing around to multiple hotels in the area. We called the front desk after hours and were given both the phone number and email of the sales manager, Susan. I left Susan a rather frantic voicemail and asked if she could get back to us asap and my fiance sent her an email explaining the situation. The very next morning we both received calls from Susan who had already gone over our requests and was incredibly uplifting to the whole situation. They were able to accommodate most of our requests and helped us figure out alternatives to any request they weren't able to fulfill. We highly recommend this Courtyard by Marriott solely based off of Susan's quick and empathetic response to our unfortunate situation! Thanks again to Susan.

I reserved 2 suites and one regular room. My family arrived at 4:10 pm and none of the rooms were ready! The manager was offering all kinds of excuses: the hotel was sold out the previous night, there were late checkouts, the staff is working hard, she has worked 60 hours this week. None of this is my problem.
So 6 adults and 2 toddlers hung around the lobby until our rooms were ready. At 4:50pm, the last room was ready. We weren’t even offered a bottle of water during this wait. This didn’t end here. One suite had a clogged sink and the other suite had a non-working tv in the living room area.
After spending the day at Sesame Place, all we wanted was to relax. But that didn’t happen.
