This is your basic motel (room door opens to outside, not an inside hallway). We stayed in a room with a single king size bed, which was comfortable (advertised as all mew beds). The room was clean, but carpets were dated and worn around the edges / threshold. The wood paneled walls were also dated. Bathroom was small, with no shelves and a small vanity to put your toothbrush, toothpaste, etc., on. Also no towel bars to hang wash cloths on. The shower was old. Some rooms were advertised to have coffee makers, but ours did not, so glad I brought our own. The microwave oven and refrigerator in the room was nice, but no plates, cups, etc., so make sure you bring your own, if needed. Desk chair was very worn. Free breakfast in the lobby was basic, but nice. Other then the car alarm of the guest next to us going off, it was fairly quiet, but your could hear water running when the next door room took a shower and also could hear some voices, through the walls. Heat/ AC in room worked well. There is a nice book in the lobby listing near by restaurants, so that was helpful. We have stayed in motels like this severaltimes, in diffrent town and most are about the same as this one, some a little nicer and some not so nice. For the price we paid. We were happy.

My wife and I rode a portion of the Lehigh Gorge bike trail after arriving on Friday afternoon. We had an early dinner and checked into the Mahoning Inn about 7:30pm. I had reserved a room a few days prier online at a total cost of $158.05 The room was about what you'd expect for one of the cheapest places to stay in this area during this time of year. The place was obviously older, but the room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The shower was great with tons of hot water immediately and high pressure. A free breakfast was included. Held in the lobby, it included coffee & tea, cereal, yogurt, bananas, pastries and a few other things. If you don't have real high standards and are in search of a decent place to sleep and shower, you'll be satisfied. I'd visit again.

Stayed one night during a visit to Jim Thorpe for a Penns Peak concert and bike ride down the gorge trail. Super clean and friendly staff. Very convenient location. Definitely outdated but it fit the bill since the places in town have a two-night minimum which we did not need and triple the cost and we weren't there to sit in the room any way! Room 29 was cool on a 90 degree day and located in the back, a very quiet area. Felt like a time warp but again very clean room and a comfortable bed. All we needed.

This room was absolutely disgusting. It smelled
Of mildew and smoke all while attempting to mask it with a strong air freshener. The carpet was torn up all over the room which was a massive trip hazard. The thresholds that are to hold down the carpet between the kitchenette tile and the rest of the room is missing leaving spikes clearly visible and an obvious danger. The linens were stained. There were 2 peep holes behind the bathroom mirror which was loose. The sink was hovering a good inch above the counter top. I’m also pretty sure someone had busted in the door at some point because it was completely damaged and we had a hard time closing it and locking it. Oh and the continental breakfast is a nightmare because they are still using the excuse that the lobby is closed due to “covid protocol” it’s pretty difficult to bring 4 breakfasts and drinks back to your room which is on the other side of the motel. I absolutely do not recommend staying here.

When you check I. They have you sign a waiver stating no smoking in the room $150.00 fee. (Not an issue we don’t smoke.
The first room we were in trigger an asthma attack with in 15 minutes of my daughter being in it. Cigarette burn marks on the bed.
Cigarette ash in the dresser drawer.
Online photos are absolutely not anything like the room that we were in.
After complaining we were moved to a second room. The second room did not stink, the wooden floor was very dirty.

This is a small, roadside motel that suited our needs just fine. We were in the area for a concert and just needed a place to sleep and shower. It was quiet, the room was clean and looked like it was recently spruced up.The water pressure in the shower was excellent. The continental breakfast was a nice touch with coffee, juice, milk, cereal, pastry, bagels, fruit and yogurt. The staff were nice and very accommodating. Check in and out was easy and ice was readily available. Our only minor issues were that the pillows were flat and the dials on the AC unit didn't have any markings left on them so we kind of guessed at the settings until we got it adjusted. Once we figured it out, it worked fine. Overall, for the price we paid, we will consider staying again next time we are in the area . We will just bring a pillow or two.

I reserved a room for my wife and her friend to attend a concert. I went through Bluegreen reservation services. My assumption was that since it was through Bluegreen, it would be a reasonable place to stay. Additionally, the limited information on the web did not lead me to believe there was any problem with it

Unfortunately that was terribly wrong. The place is a dump. There’s no security because the door to the room is an indoor door very flimsy and easily knocked down and there’s only a chain and a turn knob to lock it. The rooms smelled. The carpet smelled. The bathroom smelled. Everything was dirty. It was freezing cold.

They were gas cans outside, right next to the living area and people that look like they were long-term residence smoking right next to the gasoline. It’s fortunate that they did not explode.

There’s no closet just wall rack. The microwave was filthy.

Basically don’t waste your money. Go someplace else. They have a hell of a nerve even charging people to stay there disgusting, smelly, filthy, unsafe, hellhole.

Exactly as the title of this review says, don't judge this place by the outside looks. It definitely doesn't look appealing but I had no issues with our room and for the price, I would recommend. We were in room 30, so the back room on the end. I was skeptical at first but once you open the door it smelt good and the room was actually really clean. I've stayed in much more exspensive places that weren't as clean as this place was. Jamie at the front desk was friendly and made sure everything with my stay was up to my standards. If you book this place, don't expect something extravagant. It's a room and a bed to sleep in, that's it. Even though I say that, I highly recommend this place and if I'm ever in the area again I will stay here.

Pleasantly surprised. Great and quick check-in. All front desk employees had very nice personalities and were customer oriented. We parked right by our unit and although the room was out of date everything was very clean. Bed super comfortable but could have used a heavier/nicer blanket. Fridge and microwave in the room as well as iron. The nicest surprise was the free continental breakfast offered in the lobby. Nice selection of fruit, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, bagels, danish, coffee and juice. Great hot water and water pressure in the shower.
Loved this location for its proximity to Jim Thorpe.
Also we just walked over to the Drive In Diner right next door which was super convenient as well as afforable.

Give this a 3.5. This is an older hotel. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and amenities are simple. The rooms are non-smoking, but there are receptacles for smokers, so the smoke travels. Our first room smelled of mold, when we asked to be moved we were. The staff was nice and accommodating.
