Pam and Dallas were very accommodating. We were allowed to bring our 65 lb dog into a room not usually designated for pets. The private bath was great. The home itself is decorated beautifully and feels very comfortable. We stayed the weekend before the July 4th holiday so the property was fully booked (or nearly so). We had a blast with the other guests. There appears to be considerable variability in room size so be sure to specify your needs. Breakfast was very good but be aware that during the week, only a continental breakfast is served. We would return if the occasion presented itself.

Pam and Dallas, owners and hosts of the BF Hiestand House, made us feel right at home for our two night, midweek stay in their lovely historic B&B. Their location is great for exploring the Marietta, Columbia, and Elizabethtown areas. Historic Market Street provides lots of architectural interest, walkable dining options, and access to the river and Northwest Lancaster County River Trail. A short drive takes you through beautiful farmland and on to lots of interesting venues and activities - bike trails, hiking trails, breweries, museums — we needed a longer stay! The B&B was comfortable and well accessorized, with a front porch that screamed “sit and relax”! Breakfast was hearty and served at time of your choosing. Our room featured hand painted french tilework in the home’s original bathroom, stained glass windows, and cozy bathrobes. Pam and Dallas were very thoughtful in offering suggestions about the area and accommodating our bicycling storage needs in the torrential rain that hit on day one of our stay. We hope to return!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay. We love staying in B&B's as they offer a much more intimate stay and the Hiestand House offered exactly what we envisioned: a nice historic home with the eloquence of modern hospitality in an easily accessible location. Pam and Dallas are excellent host. Pam was especially helpful in identifying and suggesting things to do in Lancaster County. We really enjoyed "Sight and Sound" theater which she was able to get discounted ticket for us. Specifically we stayed in the Susquehanna Room. The bed was comfortable and the rain shower was wonderful (I didn't want to get out). Each morning we had a great breakfast and conversation. Yes, a very relaxing two night stay.

A nice family run bed and breakfast in the historic Rivertown of Marietta, PA. Clean rooms with amenities are complimented by a great breakfast selected from several offerings served in room or in the Dining Room. B&B is located three blocks from the Northwest River Trail and Historic Musselman-Vesta Iron Furnace building and site located along the Susquehanna River and blocks from the historic business district with shops and dining options for visitors to this scenic town. Owners are friendly and helpful to their guests in this pet friendly accommodation. Well worth a return visit when in the area.

The innkeepers are very hospitable greeting you at the door when you arrive with a fresh plate of cookies to escorting you to your room.
The rooms have modern amenities without ruining the historic details (as in these rooms have REAL keys).
Cleanliness is very important to us and this bed and breakfast is pristine. Special orders are considered for the breakfast and no one leaves the dining room hungry.
My husband and I hope to have another event out that way to stay there again!

Nothing but good things to say about my stay here. Enjoyed chatting with Pam and she was very kind and helpful, and welcoming to both me and my dog Charlie! I stayed two nights and had two very delicious breakfasts prepared by Pam. She was understanding of my vegan lifestyle and offered blueberry muffins, baked oatmeal, and even non-dairy yogurt, plus fruit of course! Comfortable room and private bath. Lovely porch perfect for reading.

Location very convenient to Lancaster, and for great food I recommend Prince Street Cafe and Rachel’s Cafe & Creperie in the downtown area (watch out for street sweeping, lol) and Upohar (great Central African meal). Loved the bus tour with Amish Farm and House, and dogs are allowed to ride too! So lovely to get away and soak up the beautiful countryside.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in The Cottage at this delightful B & B just this past weekend. Everything from the beautiful house, to the Cottage itself was full of charm and comfort.
The main house is warm and welcoming. Lots of tall ceilings and beautiful mouldings. Lots to appreciate in the decor. The dining room was very inviting with coffee and tea offerings of many varieties. Outside, many comfortable seating areas and tables for gathering outdoors on the wide porch. We actually enjoyed a nice bottle of wine with a great cheeseboard and watched bunnies chasing one another across the lawn. So peaceful and relaxing.
Our Hosts Dallas and Pam were so friendly, and nothing pleased us more than knowing they both genuinely enjoyed caring for their guests. Dallas would join us for conversation during breakfast. Which was delicious by the way. Hot fluffy pancakes, blueberries and cream, an amazing sausage and banana muffins. Yummy from start to finish. And Pam graciously offered seconds if anyone wanted them.
Our cottage room was so well designed. The bed was very comfy (a huge plus because I am quite wary of beds other than my own) and the pillows that perfect balance between supportive and soft. The multi head shower was a real treat. Along with the jetted tub big enough for two. When we first entered the room it took us both a moment to notice the toilet area itself wasn’t enclosed, so Thankfully we found the decorative wooden screen that was stored in the closet😃. But that also just added to the charm. The cute little table set for two in the corner was ideal! And the lighted window, that doesn’t open, gave just the right low lighting touch.
Honestly, I just can’t say enough good things about our stay. Everything was wonderful. I even took some amazing photos of honey bees climbing on the beautiful flowers near the side steps.
Our heartfelt Thanks to Dallas and Pam for making our weekend getaway so memorable!

My husband and I stayed one night on our recent vacation in the Blakemore room. I wish we could have stayed longer. The room, bed was very comfortable and many extras, like a white noise machine, were included. The home is beautiful and innkeepers, Pam and Dallas, very accommodating. Breakfast was blueberries with cream, french toast, egg and bacon with choice of juice, coffee, tea. The only negative is accessability. There are stairs going onto the large inviting porch and also one flight of rather steep stairs to the second floor. Also, the inn keepers have a dog and although he is not often seen, he does go through the common living areas at times so those with allergies take note. All on all a wonderful find.

Booked Cannon Cottage for my birthday trip
First when I looked at the website it appeared like the place was totally booked which gave me feeling of being popular and I chose this place on that base where in fact we were the only couple most days of our 6 nights stay when looking at the pictures of the cottage it looked like a good size room what a surprise to find that the table that supposedly allowed to have breakfast delivered to the room could only accommodate one person even though there were two chairs but one was blocked by the very heavy armchair however the worst part of it was that there is no door to the bathroom area meaning one open space I don’t care how long one is married I don’t feel like going to the bathroom a front of my spouse grouse! Pam’s explanation was that they had to do it that way for the wheelchair however there is no way you can get through the front door with the wheelchair or maneuver in that room so it is strange design they provided a screen for privacy?!?!Seriously!!!
The breakfast was okay however one day it was oatmeal which my husband won’t eat he was not offered anything else I gave him my toast the last thing was the place is right next to very busy highway with heavy traffic starting 5AM super noisy they do allow dog in the cottage but no real space to walk the dog so it was disappointing experience
Our first trip to Marietta and probably the last

We recently celebrated our 40th anniversary at the B.F. Hiestand Bed & Breakfast and couldn't have been happier. This bed & breakfast is located in a well-maintained, gorgeous old house in the historical small town of Marietta very near the Northwest River Trail along the Susquehanna River. The bed & breakfast owners, Pam and Dallas Fritz, were very welcoming and made us feel comfortable throughout our stay. Pam's breakfasts were outstanding and she took time to chat with us each morning to start our days off right. We stayed in the beautiful Susquehanna Room which had an awesome rainforest shower. However, I have a feeling you can't go wrong staying in any of the bedrooms at the B.F. Hiestand House. I can't recommend this bed and breakfast enough!
