We have stayed at the Hotel Fauchere many times over the last several years as well as several Relais & Chateau Hotels around the world. There are several major differences: Relais & Chateau Hotels are luxurious. This hotel is not - it is a quaint old hotel with small non luxury rooms, nice bathrooms but who still has ancient 15" non...

Dear RaiCharles, Thank you for posting your comments, although I am disappointed to read some of them. You are correct about the TVs, they are small and now 12 years old. They are all in the process of being replaced with larger screens; that project should be completed by the end of the month. I put in small ones in...

My wife, two dogs, and I stayed at Hotel Faychere on the way back from Thanksgiving. It is an adorable hotel in a sweet little town, and they took excellent care of us and our dogs. It was only a short visit, we got in after dinner and left the middle of the next morning, but the room was great...

The hotel and more importantly the people at Hotel Fauchere were absolutely incredible. They went above and beyond to accommodate our dog as well as myself as I required a special meal early in the morning before a marathon. The rooms were well maintained and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking in the area.

This place was amazing. It felt like a top notch very elegant bed and breakfast. It had a french/countryside feel. Exelent getaway from the city to a charming small town. Can't wait to return. I also reccomend their spa.. AMAZING!!

Everything about this hotel is lovely--it is a meticulously restored 1800s inn with 2 amazing restaurant choices (and a delicious patisserie next door). We have stayed here multiple times for get-aways because we love the area, the history, and all that goes with it. Our most recent trip did not disappoint; the staff and owners are very accommodating, especially since...

Joseph, who is the manager on duty during the day, knowledgable, courteous and professional. The rooms are comfortable, we recommend one of the corner rooms with more windows. Staff all very helpful. Only downside: restaurants in the hotel VERY expensive. And the promised free continental breakfast never materialized. (no one dined in the demonico room for dinner all weekend). Note:...

The woman who checked us in (I know her name but won't post it) told use that breakfast was free. When I got home the next week I looked at my receipt and the hotel had charged me $22 per day for two breakfasts that I was told would be FREE! I would not have paid $22 a day for...

Typically when guests check in, our guest services agent shows the guest where breakfast is served and explains the procedure for making sure their breakfast server is aware if they have a reservation that includes breakfast. This guest's reservation was at a special highly-discounted rate for federal government employees that does not include breakfast. Sometimes, those guests staying on a...

Only spent one night here on our way to another destination. So glad I didn't book a whole weekend. Not because the hotel wasn't lovely but because there's not that much there there. Maybe because it was the dead of winter but it seemed there weren't enough shops, bars, restaurants or other things to keep us entertained for a whole...

Not many quibbles about the Hotel Fauchère. In fact, only one. The insulation isn't great, so noises are disturbing of one's rest - both street noise and people in the corridors. That said, I like the place and would return here if I need a place to stay in the area. The staff members are helpful, friendly, and professional. The...

Hotel Fauchere is a jewel in the beautiful historic town of Milford, easily accessible by I-84 or Rt. 6, surrounded by outdoor activity opportunities, museums, and, just a walk down Broad Street, antique shops and art galleries. In operation since 1852, there is a photo gallery of guests in the stairwell down to Bar Louis that reads like a "who's...

“We have stayed in this hotel on several occasions and decided to stay in the compact room (#1) to save money. It's really not much smaller than the standard/premium room. We were warned that this room was right over the bar kitchen. Fortunately we didn't hear any noise from the bar, unfortunately this room seems like it's right over the furnace or boiler room and a few times during the evening the furnace/boiler would come on and hum loudly for about 10-15 minutes. So be warned if you want to stay in this room. ”
