Let's start by stating MY priorities for staying at a "business" outside the comforts of my home. It must be clean!!! (That of course should be the primary one.) I want comfort-who doesn't, convenience is always a plus. The Olde Square Inn has them all (and many more).
The rooms and living areas are well maintained. Nancy (owner) takes pride in her B&B-as she should! This was out third visit to The Olde Square Inn and it has always been second to none. Any persons(s) visiting the Lancaster area should consider this B&B. The location is pretty much centered to most tourist areas (a short drive) as well as many dining establishment withing walking distance.
You can check out the amenities on the website but to list a few: private bath, fireplaces in the rooms, outstanding breakfasts, coffee & snacks anytime, and a friendly owner always checking to see if you need anything.
Perhaps,what can best sum this up is a sign that is posted in The Olde Shoppe Inn..."arrive as guests and leave as friends."

In the bucolic countryside of Lancaster County, this B&B is located near the heart of Mount Joy. It's a wonderful property in easy walking distance of several good restaurants. The house is a classic example of high ceilings, large windows, radiator heat, hardwood floors, ornate woodwork, five panel doors, butler call bells, etc. An exquisitely prepared three course breakfast awaits you in the morning. We had spiced apple ring w/organic yogurt and granola, then Bravado toast (toasted english muffin, avocado, white goddess dressing, mozzarella, tomatoes, pickled onion), Frittata w/grilled onion, cheddar and asparagus, grilled pineapple and sausage, which was followed by a Martin’s chocolate fondue mini (with marshmallow, strawberry and cake cubes)
But the best part of your travel experience here is the owner - Nancy. She has been doing this for several years and is indeed a natural at doing it. She makes you feel like you have been part of her family for years even though she just met you. We look forward to returning!

This was our first stay at Olde Square Inn and we would recommend it to all our friends and family. The Inn was clean and beautifully kept; the Innkeeper, Nancy, was welcoming and charming. Her knowledge of the area was very helpful.
What I liked best? We felt pampered the entire stay. After a long drive to get there, we were happy to accept an offered 1/2 carafe of wine. Nancy not only showed us the common areas of the Inn, and our room, but also shared a little bit of our room’s history. The room’s fridge had a much-welcomed bottle of chilled water; the towels and bedding were soft and fresh. In the morning, I was tickled to find that the coffee/tea mugs were pre-warmed.
The included breakfasts were outstanding! The multiple courses were beautifully presented, and served on lovely depression era glassware. The tables were set with flowers, tablecloths, and cloth napkins.
We also appreciated that the Inn was set up to enable us to come and go on our own schedule, since we had a full itinerary. There were games and DVDs available to borrow, though we did not use them; a coffee/tea bar was available in the common area. We stayed in the Charleston room; in addition to a fireplace, it has an adjustable radiator, so we remained cozy during an early cold snap.

This was a wonderful b&b right on Main St in Mt Joy. The innkeeper was wonderful and definitely LOVES to cook. Breakfast both mornings were fantastic. We stayed in the carriage house which was just off of the main building and it had a whirlpool tub and 2 person shower. The bed was comfortable, 2 person sink in the bathroom and plenty of room. For other food and drinks there are a couple of small bars and restaurants within a mile walk. We would stay there again any time.

We have been coming to this Inn for several years. it is so great that we recommended it to our extended family and friends. Nancy Innkeeper always treats us like family. The homemade breakfast is fantastic with ample variety and portion size. The rooms are very comfortable and as soon as we check in we feel "At home". The Inn is within walking distance of several restaurants. Lancaster and Hershey are within a short drive.

My boyfriend and I had an amazing stay in the Third Floor Suite. The pictures don't do the suite justice - it's huge! The separate sink area was a great bonus that allowed us both to get ready for our day at the same time. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Nancy, who showed us to our room and brought us a half carafe of wine to help us get settled, then made some great dinner and sight-seeing recommendations. Breakfast was out of this world, and we loved that we could walk to a bunch of local shops and restaurants. This was a romantic, relaxing, wonderful stay, and we both agree that the Olde Square Inn is the best B&B we've visited! We would highly recommend paying Nancy a visit - there's a reason she has such fantastic reviews!

My husband and I recently spent time at the beautiful, historic Old Square Inn. We were immediately welcomed by the warm and friendly innkeeper, Nancy. She showed us around the inn and shared its history with us. The breakfast menu for the following morning was posted ahead of time and Nancy was very willing to make any dietary adjustments if needed. Speaking of the food, the breakfasts that Nancy prepared were in a class of their own. Her culinary skills and warm presentation of each of the three courses were wonderful. We stayed in a beautiful room equipped with a mini fridge, cold water, a very comfortable bed, cookies, plush, high quality linens, and a complimentary carafe of wine just to name a few amenities. We also enjoyed time in and by the clean pool, as well as time in the lounge chairs on the grand balcony. The area of Mount Joy itself gives a refreshing small town feel and we thoroughly enjoyed walking in the town. If you like Mexican food, Tres Hermanos is a delicious and reasonable spot for lunch or dinner. Overall, our stay at Olde Square Inn was remarkable and provided the rest and relaxation we were hoping for. We would definitely recommend Olde Square Inn to our friends and family.

We have stayed at the Olde Square Inn in past years but it was better than ever this time. If it was possible to give "6 circles" in praise we would do so. Nancy is indefatigable in creating a comfortable and relaxing environment for her guests. The accommodations are spotless, decorating is cheerful, and personalized requests are met whenever possible. The breakfasts each morning are absolutely delicious and presented with care. We will be back.

My husband and I stayed at the Olde Square Inn for three nights. The owner, Nancy, was so welcoming and cooked amazing gourmet 3 course breakfasts. We so enjoyed our conversations with Nancy and the other guests. Our stay was in the midst of a heat wave and after touring in the morning, we would come back each afternoon to cool off in the pool in the backyard. The backyard was a quiet little oasis. We stayed in the Carriage House and the air conditioner was very quiet and kept the room very cool. The room was quite large and beautifully decorated. I would highly recommend staying at the Olde Square Inn.

We love to stay with Nancy at The Olde Square Inn every time my husband and I are in the area. We’ve stayed with Nancy three times and have already planned our next visit! You won’t find a better host or B&B - that’s guaranteed! Nancy is so warm and welcoming, you’ll feel like she’s a part of your family! She goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is comfortable and your breakfast is first class. The Olde Square Inn is a beautifully-decorated, very clean, and quiet refuge centrally located to many Lancaster and Hershey attractions. Also, be sure to buy a copy of Nancy’s cookbook. Thanks for thinking of Olde Square Inn. We do not accept dogs of any size - we blame it on our kitty cats. They wouldn't like it.
You might try B.F. Heistand House in Marietta, which is just about 12 minutes from where we are. They do accept dogs and would be happy to welcome you.
There are more places to choose from in the Mount Joy area.
