In town for a wedding and wanted something close to the event center and turnpike, and inexpensive. Thought I had gotten a good deal, but the adage that you get what you pay for holds true for this hotel. We were checked in by quite a surly gentleman, who grunted a request for a credit card, then pointed to the machine. We headed up to room #235, and it took more attempts to open the door than it should've. At first glance and sniff, it wasn't bad. The phone messaging system was flashing, but we had no message, and we were unable to stop the flashing light. Called the front desk, and a man came up immediately, and removed the phone. The AC made quite a noise, and the temperature was set for 65. We reset for 80, and the noise stopped for the time being. We learned that once the AC had hit the set temperature, the noise would begin again. There were 2 sets of towels for us, and the sheets looked and smelled clean. The bathroom floor looked new, or at least it was shiny. The tub looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. The tub spigot was pulling away from the wall, and the knob for the shower pull was missing. The shower curtain was a tad mildewy, and there was no grab bar. In the morning we went down for breakfast which was 2 types of bread, with a toaster available, Cheerios with a pitcher of what may have been milk (or it could've been empty) in the fridge, the set-up for waffles (didn't bother looking to see if there was any batter), and a juice dispenser with orange and cranberry juices. At some point the man who had removed the phone came to the door and asked if we needed room service. I asked for a set of towels to exchange, and for a roll of toilet paper. We never saw him again, nor the requested items. Lights were not plugged in, and plugs were difficult to access. If any remodeling is to be done, access to plugs should be on the list, as well as a light at the desk. Light switches were very dirty, and the mirror must've been wiped down with a wet towel since it was very streaky. A red streak on the shower curtain was a concern. The parking lot spaces are very narrow, and people with decent cars should park on the side of the building, although the neighborhood looks a bit sketchy so that could be risky. The website states that valet parking for disabled guests is available, but there was no signs at the hotel. To get to the elevator, guests need to go up half a flight of narrow stairs. There is an empty, paint-flaking pool. To wrap up, there is much to be done to bring this property up to speed. Hopefully once it's renovated, Wyndham will invest in employee training. …
