Detailed Reviews
We stayed at the TownePlace Suites for 5 nights over Thanksgiving. The staff was quite nice, and the room was comfy for three of us. The breakfast was your typical breakfasts with a few variations each day. The fitness center was nothing fancy, but it worked to get the workouts in. Only a few issues cropped up. The first was that the pool was absolutely frigid. It said that it was heated, but I have a very difficult time believing that it was. The second is that the screen to the microwave is very bright (in fact, many things in the room were bright, but the microwave was especially bright). We couldn't figure out how to unplug the microwave, so we taped a plate from breakfast over the screen...and we could still see light from the microwave. It would be nice to have the option for a more sleep friendly environment.

Dear Princessebird, Thank you for spending your Thanksgiving Holiday with us and sharing your review on Trip Advisor. Glad to hear the staff was nice and you enjoyed the room along with the complimentary full hot breakfast. The engineering team is reviewing the temperature of the pool and making sure it is a few degrees below the temperature of the air which is the standard. Thank you for the updating us the brightness of the microware digital display as we have recently resolved this issue so the display can be shut off or we even have a way to dim the brightness. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you as we appreciate your business and wish you a Happy New Year in 2020. Best Regards Jonathan

The hotel is what is expected for the brand. They offered coffee and hot water for tea in the lobby. The room appeared clean. The breakfast was poor. Hot items offered were prepackaged sandwiches. They do offer a large pot of oatmeal (in lieu of the instant packets that have been offered at some other hotels). I took one bite of a blueberry muffin and put the rest in the trash. The frosted mini wheats do not belong in the rotary dispenser; they come out more like shredded wheat after turning the dial repeatedly to get any out. What did get dispensed were stale. There are no perks for those with Marriott status, not even a free bottle of water. If you don’t care about the bad breakfast, the hotel is decent. There is a Dunkin’ Donuts right next door.

Room was clean and spacious, and the front desk staff couldn’t have been more gracious or welcoming. The breakfast wasn’t great, but kudos for having soy milk available. Special shout-out to John S. who helped us get the conference room ready for a family event and checked with us often to see how he could help.

I was forced to use this hotel by a tournament organizer. When the tournament was canceled because of the pandemic, they still charged us for a night stay. The cancellation occurred after the 48-hour period but prior to 24 hours. Marriott changed their 48-hour policy to accommodate for the challenging time, but this hotel decided to not follow their guidance. Now I need to work with Marriott to fight the hotel to get my money back.

Dear KWorth36, I am sorry about the charge for cancelation and I appreciate you bringing it to my attention as we have refunded the full amount to your credit card. We have received higher than normal requests for cancelations and changes to reservations as this was missed by our staff in which I apologize. We appreciate your business and hope in the future our tournament will be back to the area. Best Regards, Jonathan

Beautiful hotel and clean with many amenities and close by to many restaurants and shopping! Friendly staff! Comfy beds! Breakfast was okay but nothing special and the plant based sausage wasn’t good. The only downside is the road noise and train close by! If I had ear plugs the stay would’ve been 5 stars cause we wouldn’t have heard the road noise at night! Starbucks and Dunkin close by for some good morning coffee! Close to the Turnpike and only 5mins away from the yummy Oakmont Bakery which is a must when in the area!!

Great hotel right off the PA turnpike. Friendly staff and clean. Great full free breakfast (eggs, sausage, potatoes, fruit, waffles, pastries, muffins). Lots of great places to eat close by and great restaurants in Oakmont. We will stay again.

I've stayed in many TownePlace Suites over the years and generally find them to be good places to stay. This is a newer property, which carries a lot of built-in design flaws. First, there is little insulation in the walls and you can hear noise from many sources, from carousing by the fire pit out front to babies crying in adjacent rooms, and traffic noise from the nearby freeway. Next, the bathroom shower has no door which results in the loss of capability to take a nice hot shower. Thankfully, there was no lack of hot water. Finally, the HVAC refused to go into heat mode so it was not possible to raise the temperature of the room.
The staff was friendly and the breakfast was forgettable.
Will probably stay here again due to proximity to relatives.

The rooms were clean but not spotless. The "suites* are the size of a normal hotel room, so the kitchenettes make things very tight. Breakfast was not as nice as Hampton Inns. The worst part was the staff members were not friendly. Guests are not made to feel welcome.

Towneplace Suites are generally comfortable but are laid out in an inconvenient way. No place to open suitcases, especially so if there are two staying in the room. The tv hangs on the wall that’s the path to the bathroom and hung too low. Still, we had a comfortable stay overall. Bed is comfortable, suite was very clean. Staff were friendly. We stayed near the road and that was pretty noisy. Pet friendly for a steep $75 fee.

We were invited to a wedding in Pittsburgh, and needed a hotel. So we immediately called the hotel. We were greeted by a lovely staff member named Cody Trinch. He was kind and caring and courteous. He assured us that he would take great care of us. Indeed he did! It’s a beautiful property. The room was very very large. But what made it that special is the caring of staff members like Cody. Please try to contact him if you go there because he is really special.

Guests in our hotel can receive packages. He will need to sign for it when he picks it up at the front desk. Please make sure to put to the attention of his name so we know it is for him. It is fine to send it prior to him arriving and we will hold it for him.
