After getting our vaccines and being stuck at home, we decided to take a long weekend 5 hours from home. Skytop provides 5500 acres of nature. We went hiking and bike riding during our stay. The Windsor room had a great dinner to get dressed up on a Saturday night. After dinner there was a musician playing a guitar in the lobby. Tap room had good lunches. They are plenty of activities such as crafts and yoga. Staff was very friendly. One downside is that there was no room service. We will definitely consider another trip here soon.

We stayed at the Stream Side Cottages, which were large and set apart from the main building. Perfect for us with 3 kids to run around and listen to music and hang out on the porch between events. Our friends & their kids were in other cottages. Fernando in the dining room was awesome. Great server, patient, attentive. Food is very good and fairly priced. The guys who run the rock climbing wall were great. Friendly, helpful, patient, funny when dealing with our 8-12 yr old kids. We did a guided nature walk which was a huge highlight. The guide was also a local college professor in forestry so he knew every bush, shrub, tree. Very impressive awareness of everything around us and he did an admirable job keeping 10+ kids educated and entertained. The falls we visited were beautiful. Overall we were lucky with excellent weather throughout our stay, so we could really enjoy the grounds with lots of hikes, biking, etc. My only gripe is the 18% service fee applied to the rooms. It makes a $530/night room into a $680/night room (including tax). Keep that total cost in mind.

My girlfriend has been to skytop with her family a few times and as a result we had really high hopes for a couples trip for my birthday. While some interactions at the resort were great, others were a complete failure. Great: Staff at Windsor during breakfast service. Absolutely couldn’t have been any nicer to us and the food was excellent. Starter at the golf course - what a nice, friendly man. Very helpful in getting us out for a late 18. Front desk staff on checkin - gave us a room upgrade and a coupon for a latte for my birthday. Service at lakeside. Waitress was nice and seated us outside at the fire pit. General condition of outdoor activities - the hikes are beautiful. Golf course was in decent shape given the recent rain. Cookie service at 4pm: keep up the good work. Outside look and feel of the resort: exterior is very beautiful and there was a nice set up of chairs and activities. Needs improvement: Both staff and food at the taproom. The food was expensive, took a long time to come out, and wasn’t exactly what we ordered. The staff seemed like they were scrambling to get orders filled. Covid protocols - look, I understand that resorts exist to make money. And I get that if PA says you can operate at 75% capacity then by all means do that. But please have more options for outdoor dining with heaters. My girlfriend is a physician who often treats covid patients. She’s probably more cautious than most. Fauci says he won’t do indoor dining yet. If you’re going to be a four diamond resort, go above and beyond the state standards. Also, current covid trends in PA are going in a bad direction, so it’s more important than ever to stay vigilant. Value at lakeside: prices are too high for that menu. Food was average at best. S’mores: apparently in years past, campfire s’mores were complimentary. Today, they give you marshmallows and sticks and expect you to buy the graham crackers and chocolate. Your hotel runs $300ish per night. Why are you nickeling and diming on the s’mores? Room interiors: furnishings and finishings feel very dated to me. Coffee maker didn’t work. Outlets are poorly placed. On the whole I still enjoyed my stay, but think the value really isn’t there for the money.

Expensive with very little to show for the cost. They charge a 22% facility fee so you can empty your own garbage, make your bed, call for clean towels. Rooms are dark and the furniture can best be described as shabby chic. In the Windsor dining room the service was perfect, unfortunately you cannot get your $30.00 steak grilled as requested. The excuse always begins with "Covid" . Enough with the covid excuse. It has been 12+ months . For a 4 diamond resort you could do much better.
