Right off the highway - you better be in the right lane after going thru toll stands - or you will have a bit of a puzzle figuring out how to loop back to it. Overall felt clean and looked clean. Desk clerk was super helpful and friendly even though I had a heck of of time hearing him through the mask and plastic shield. Sad how the pressboard and other cheap materials used to furnish and decorate the place can't take wear and tear .. nicks and chips and marks everywhere - but it felt clean so it was okay. Bed okay. I would stay here again if passing this way and needed a place to sleep one night.
I stayed here 1 night. I made the mistake of accepting a room on the first floor. I could hear people in the room next to me talking, and the kid above running back and forth. The noise stated around 5:00 AM. There is some truck facility next to the property and I could hear diesel truck starting and running. Next I heard doors opening and closing in the hallway, and employees talking to each other. I even heard 1 person whistling. There is a big gap between the room door and floor which is probably why it was so loud. The employees need to be considerate of guests that are still sleeping. As for the room itself, the blue and brown walls made the room dark. It had cheap furniture - open the door of the cabinet under the TV and it scrape on the shelf. The microwave was stashed in the cabinet under the TV which makes for a clean look, but it was impossible to see the buttons on the microwave without the aid of my cellphone light. I would not stay here again.…
We were greeted by Ian and he was so friendly and informative. The room was large and very clean. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were very soft. Breakfast was served even though Covid restrictions. Eggs, cereal, oatmeal, and cinnamon rolls and biscuit gravy and sausage. Good shower and hairdryer. Big tv. In room coffee Perfect stay. It was difficult to find even though right off toll road and could see it but couldn’t find road to get there.
Everything you need for a short stay. Clean rooms, helpful staff and even a spa to have a swim & steam. Breakfast was also very good. It is only a quick cab ride to town and vivery park so a good location if you are going to a concert at Vivery Park. We would stay again.
My husband and I enjoyed a 4 night ski getaway at the Holiday Inn Express Somerset. Although the property is located close to the tollboth of the turnpike, our room located on the top floor at the back of the hotel was quiet. Furthermore, the room was clean, comfortable and equipped with a microwave, a large fridge, and a table with 2 chairs. In addition, the breakfast area was well stocked and immaculate. Shout out to Gloria and Barb, two obviously dedicated and hard working staff members. Located within a 20 to 30 minute drive of 3 ski areas and minutes from several local restaurants, this property offers a quality experience at an affordable price... a combination that is hard to find at a ski resort.
