We found this place on TripAdvisor and liked the comments by former guests. And they were all right: this is a great place to stay when visiting State College. It's only 11 years old, so it has all the modern conveniences, and, yes, the owners are the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. Very accommodating, helpful. They go the... More

This truly one of the nicest and most scenic places in the State College/Penn State area. Joe is friendly and helpful and serves a wonderful breakfast. His wife is lovely, as well! The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean! Access to the surrounding area - wineries, hiking, great restaurants, antique shops, Penn State, etc. is easy and nearby.

First, this home is lovely and quite new. It has everything that Chip and Joanne (from the TV show "Fixer Upper") would do when designing a house and more. Every room is spacious and clean; our bed was very comfortable. It has a large wrap-around porch, which is great for reading, chatting, or just enjoying the scenic, mountain views. Second,... More

Lovely B&B in an equally lovely setting. Joe is a very accommodating host, and serves an excellent breakfast. All rooms are spacious, bright, and spotlessly clean. We stayed in the Garden Room, which faces north. The couple with whom we were travelling stayed in the Oak Hall Room - on the ground floor, with a huge ADA-compliant bathroom. Bed was very... More

This is actually among the nices B&B I ever stayed. The surrounding and the views are superb. And the access o Penn State is easy and short. The place is rather new very testily recorated, but not rich on traditional paintings etc. Ihor Shust

Spacious, soothing, calm, and spotlessly clean B&B. The room and bed were super comfortable and Joe makes an incredible breakfast. Plenty to do in the surrounding area, but it was also easy to get back and forth to Penn State Law

My husband and I, along with our teenage daughter enjoyed a quick overnight at the Inn on our way up to Bald Eagle State Park. The Inn is kept meticulously and room pictures are accurate. Joe was very accommodating with our last minute change. The location is quiet, peaceful, and serene with deer frolicking in the back yard, all while... More

We decided on a brief break away and chose State College. We went when school had recently finished so was quite, but we really enjoyed the warm welcome and hospitality at The Rock Garden. In particular, Joe's breakfast was delicious.

We stopped at the Rock Garden on our way to Canada to break up our trip. Joe and Laura have created a lovely spot for travelers both inside and out. It is located outside of the hubbub of State College, but within a short drive to everything. Joe is versed on every topic pertinent to Happy Valley and beyond. He... More
