I was in town for business with the University, and I was looking for something nicer than what I could find on campus. I booked this hotel based on reading reviews. The location is inside a neighborhood, and the hotel is very small. There is no front desk, but check-in involves speaking to the person in the front office, who...

My daughter and I stayed here during a visit to Penn State University. We were able to check in a bit early and walk to the spa which is located at the end of the hallway on the first floor. Also, upon arrival we were given a $30 voucher for the spa :). The room was very comfortable and nicely...

Thank you for your kind comments and review. We are a unique property here in State College and offer much that other properties do not. We are very happy we decided to stay at the Carnegie Inn while attending the Penn State vs Iowa basketball game. The staff are very friendly, the sitting area with its warm fireplace is welcoming, the housekeeper is helpful, and the room is spacious and tasteful. Even the bathroom is mammoth with a separate tub and shower, a wicker basket...

Stayed at this property for a quiet weekend get-a-way and it did not disappoint! The property is wonderfully tucked away on the edge of all the "bustle" State College brings & we didn't even feel like we were in a college town. Nestled quietly amidst the trees of Toftrees Golf Resort, makes for a peaceful and relaxing environment. The food...

Thanks for that great review. There are many amazing things to see and do in the town and the area. State College is a true destination even for those who see us as a "college" town. Many great restaurants and hotels (ours is tops). If you are looking for a place to get away or you have business here, the...

I stayed at the inn one night for a business trip. I did not expect to be treated like royalty, but that is how I felt. The staff went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. I was greeted promptly, shown to my room, and after 20 minutes the manager called to ask if everything was OK....

Stayed last Saturday night, 1/30/2016 and place seemed luxurious. Upon arising Sunday morning, 1/31/2016 found we had no hot water to bathe in shower, sink or bath. Lukewarm at best. We let water run couple times for awhile but to no avail. Tried calling front desk for 20 minutes but no answer. Frustrating. Walked to office and asked why no...

We certainly apologize for the inconvenience that you experienced while staying at the Carnegie Inn and Spa. The inn was not completely occupied as there were two rooms available. We didn't experience hot water issues in any other rooms which was why that was offered to you. We are truly sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. A...

Due to a job relocation, 2 kids in different colleges, and a busy work schedule, my two college-aged daughters and I ended up celebrating our Christmas Eve at this cozy, beautifully decorated, friendly Inn. This is a very small hotel. It had the atmosphere of a bed and breakfast but you did not feel like you were in someone's home. The common areas were warm, inviting and peaceful. The room was soothing, spacious and beautifully decorated. There was plenty of space to relax. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again.
