My daughter and I stayed here for a couple days. New Years day. She went skiing - I just chilled. Very nice clean hotel. Great location - right on Main Street near restaurants, shops. But I have to give kudos to the STAFF. I have stayed at many hotels etc. but the customer service was 5 stars. Polite, helpful, knowledgeable. Left behind a small orthopedic back pillow valued at $50.00 so I wasn't too happy leaving it behind. The staff got right on it - found it and returned it to me ASAP. What a pleasure. I will definitely return to this hotel. I wish more hotels had a Staff like this.
We stayed here during the week for a few nights. Our room was clean, staff friendly and location was great. Right on main street in center area. Easily can walk everywhere for food, drinks, shopping etc. Easy and close access to I-80 to travel places. Breakfast was a high end continental and plenty to eat.
Had a great time. Rooms were spacious and comofrtable, location is ideal, parking is free, and breakfast is as-advertised. If they wanted to improve anything, it would be the breakfast, by adding some "non-carb" things. There were muffins, danish, bread, and bagels, but eggs and yougrt were only available one day.
Pros: New rooms Friendly staff Awesome location-right on Main and plenty of restaurants in walking distance Very moderate/economical price Cons: We were asked if we wanted housekeeping due to low staff and we said yes. They never came. The front desk was clueless and said maybe they just didn’t get to everyone and offered nothing else. I had to push that we were specifically asked and we wanted it and they finally offered to change our garbage and give us sheets. The thermostat was faulty and not working our first night. Also the bathroom had no heat in it bc it was significantly colder than the room. These are basic things I’d expect from a hotel, so was disappointed. They definitely need to better train their staff and emphasize customer service. But if put in a better room we’d consider coming back because of the convenience.…
Everything about this hotel was so well done. From the super absorbent towels to the bed firmness and bedding everything was super comfortable. The breakfast are was well lit overlooking the street scene which is lovely. I sat and ready book in comfort. The staff were helpful and friendly. Ample parking and the downtown has so much to do all within walking distance. Hotel well situated for day trips too!
Sadly my expectations of a nice hotel were not what my actual experience was. When I made the reservation online I requested a quiet room and by all appearances it should have been as we were given room 301 at the end of the hall. As it turns out, the noise was far beyond anything I would expect from a hotel. The people above us sounded like elephants although I really doubt they were. We could hear every step they took. We could hear voices (to the point we could discern what gender was speaking) in the room next to us, and also above us. Aesthetics wise, the room was clean but the lighting choices were horrendous. The glare of the energy efficient bulbs cast a gray pallor on everything and frankly gave me a headache. Why would you spend money on the interior and then ruined it with horrendous lighting. There are bulbs that are both energy efficient and create warm tones. It shouldn’t be a choice of either or. The breakfast was nothing to speak of but I’m sure it’s fine for most. As for giving management a chance to correct things I called the front desk about two hours before the noise stopped and received an apology that they would try to caution gas to be quiet. The noise continued until well after midnight depriving us both of about two hours of sleep. I also received a reply from somebody named Keyur Patel online apologizing but not offering any kind of remedy to the situation. Sorry only helps if there is sincerity with it. I hope I don’t have to return to Stroudsburg but if I did I would not stay at the Penn Stroud. For what we paid we deserved a better accommodation. I am not giving one star for the rating because the front staff did accommodate my request and provided me with an exercise mat to use in the room which I thought was quite nice of them, and extra towels as we were initially given a very minimal number of towels. Note to future patrons: some of the rooms require you to go up or down stairs to get to the room should this matter to you.…
Wonderful accommodations! Comfiest bed, good shower, great location. Maria, “the breakfast lady,” made us feel like family with her warmth and hospitality. Convenient to Delaware Water Gap (1/2 hr drive) and its beautiful waterfalls, trails, and scenery. Located in the heart of Stroudsburg, the hotel is within walking distance of art galleries, shops, and restaurants.
The clerk said that this hotel was just opened 2.5 years ago and you can tell. Everything looks updated and fresh, very clean. Since we have started traveling again post covid, this is by far and away the cleanest hotel that we have stayed in. Located in downtown Stroudsburg, so you can walk to restaurants, etc. The breakfast was nothing special, cold cereals, muffins, etc, There was plenty of food & the attendant was very friendly. No hot food at all however. We would stay here again.
It’s a clean and convenient hotel that has multiple restaurants. It also provides continental breakfast. Parking is available in the rear of the hotel. The king size was a regular king size bed and mattress was firm. Starbucks is also close to walking distance and we took advantage of it.
The place was clean and Nice we did not find a single spot, its Nice to find a clean place after 4 days on the Road with many different nasty hotels. We Got some good service aswell. So if you need a Nice place to stay we highly recomend This place.,
