The "soup and salad bar" lunch cost was $22.95 plus tax and tip!!! Are you kidding me? I know costs for all food places have gone up but this just seemed ridiculous! There were 3 tables of customers so that said a lot to me! This was always a good place to dine in the past, I won't be returning!
Lunch today. Hot turkey sandwich would have been nice if it was real turkey the buffet was okay where are the sweet potatoes the raisin bread the soup on the buffet where's the yogurt the noodles with the red sauce aren't that great. The staff and the hostess need help.
We attending a family wedding. The wedding was beautiful and the appetizers and dinner were delicious. We unfortunately stayed in a main building. We were in a "suite" on the 3rd floor. (having to walk up on several narrow stairways was our first clue to not a good situation). Room may be classified a "Charming" but the tilted floors, dated furniture, and dated bathroom were not satisfactory. Place was full as I am sure the experience would have been better if we were in one of the cottages with everything on one floor. From what I heard of others DO NOT stay in one of the older buildings; main lodge or gallery. Wedding was wonderful, wish we stayed elsewhere or in a cottage.
I have never had such an uncomfortable stay on a trip, and I have rented a hunting cabin. I stayed in room 2 above the check in counter. I reserved a room for 2 and got a room with a small, full sized, bed (maybe smaller). The bathroom was just big enough to walk into, the shower was the size of a coffin, the sink was the size of a shoe box. There wasn't even room to put down a toothbrush. My wife and I almost fell out of the bed several times during the night. We didn't get any sleep. If we were not attending a wedding there, we would have left right after seeing the room. If anyone were to ask, I would tell them to stay as far from your place as possible. Mark Nienstadt
So we made outdoor reservations for four people. When we arrived the sat us at a round table with 6 other people that was ridiculous since they made no mention of this during the reservation process. Chairs were uncomfortable and elbow room non existent. The food was average at best and servers in the buffet line must have been instructed to make portions small. When I got to the filet mignon station they had a half inch thick piece of filet mignon cut in quarter inch strips 5 inches long they gave each person one piece it was pathetic. Small pitcher of water on table that couldn’t server all of us while waiting for the drink order. Desert was not include additional $5 for strawberry tart. $25 per seat not including drinks way over priced. Paper plates with plasticware nice. Tried this place two other times for new year’s eve dinner different issues wasn’t planning on coming back oh well live and learn.…
The people at the front desk were miserable and nasty. The room we stayed in was extremely dated! The bathroom floor was cracked. The bathtub dripped. The bathroom sink was tiny. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. The window and windowsills were dirty. I couldn’t wait to get out of there and I’d never go back again! Oh! I forgot to mention that it was extremely overpriced!! I had stayed at the Penn Stroud Hotel and the rooms there were 100% better and half the price.
AVOID, AVOID. I purchased a 6 month pool and gym membership pass at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn December, 2021. On my 3rd visit to the pool, I observed a member loudly clearing phlegm and spitting his phlegm into the swimming pool each time he completed swimming a lap. Disgusting. I relayed this event to the Stroudsmoor Country Inn front desk. Next time I went, the man was swimming again. I got out of the pool and went to the front desk and again told the same lady at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn front desk the member was spitting in the pool, again. She said she’d again tell the manager and hopefully management would speak to the guest. The next time I went swimming the same man was there and he was still spitting in the pool. Next, I spoke to a young man who was working the frontdesk and he said he understood my viewpoint as he was a former lifeguard, as myself. He said it's difficult to maintain the pool area because there is no lifeguard. And, he said he'd relay my message to the manager. The only contact I received from management was that he was keeping my $100 I paid for pool membership. Next, 2 pool-gym pass members told me their dermotologist told them they each have contracted "Ring Worm" infection from the Stroudsmoor Country Inn pool and hot tub. Based on these health concerns, I made the decision to never return to Stroudmoor. I asked for my remaining 5 months membership to be refunded. Over a two month period requesting a resolution to this situation, the Manager failed to contacted me. Stroudmoor kept my $100….And they can keep their Ringworm and Phlegm-filled pool to themselves, too.…
Do not stay in the main building. First room was over the kitchen was cleaning pots and pans while playing loud music. They moved me to a room over the office which had no working heat and I could clearly hear talking and vacuuming the offices. Fortunately I had silicone moldable earplugs, wore a sweater to bed and woke up to an ice cold room. Staff explained "that's just the way these old buildings are". For $172?? NEVER AGAIN. Be warned.
We came for a wedding of a family member. Where the wedding took place was truly beautiful...the outdoors was picturesque and indoors was well decorated. The service was a bit off (drinks not served, food looked and tasted frozen/cooked out of a microwave, no announcements about things happening). The room we stayed was supposed to be a suite but consisted of the smallest queen bed and a pull out couch...others in our party paid less and got more (separate bedrooms, larger beds, etc.). I would not recommend anyone to stay.
I stayed here with my partner on a Tuesday night. That was our first mistake, all bars/restaurants on the grounds are closed on Monday and Tuesday, no room service either - this is not at all obvious when booking. The room itself was ok, but we quickly noticed stains on the bedsheets. Called reception to explain and ask for clean sheets, the lady didn't apologize or seem bothered, just said she would send someone up. 30 minutes later still no clean sheets so I went to ask in person. Same lady just said "oh I'll call them again", she seemed annoyed that I was even asking for clean sheets. After that someone dropped up clean sheets but they weren't the right size for our bed. The free continental breakfast is a plate of muffins on a table in the dining room and a drip coffee dispenser. Don't expect much hospitality if you do choose to stay here. Not worth the money in my opinion.…
