Found chipmunk "floating" in toilet. I was given different room but nothing was offered to reduce my bill and staff did not seam to concerned about "chippy" the chipmunk. Both rooms need a good DEEP CLEANING, dust. trash, and other things behind night stand.
We had booked this hotel as part of a group of friends, When booking we had been assured that our group would have rooms next to each other...no problem we had all been told. We had also been told that we can pay for the room in cash and would only be held on the Credit card. When arriving we had been told that our group had been placed in three different buildings and they could do nothing about it. In regards to payment when checking in, they had charged the credit card and would not accept the cash. We are a group of 6 couples that are in the area frequently and will be making our future reservations at another are hotel.
We were part of a group of 8 in the area for the weekend. Admittedly we only chose this property because it offered smoking rooms and we still chose poorly. Making a reservation for 5 rooms apparently required calling the property direct. Unfortunately the gentleman that answers the phone is only slightly better trained at making reservations than my dog, check that, the dog is better trained. Only 53 minutes later we had our 5 rooms hopefully booked. Check-in was almost as smooth as the last riot I saw. Finally after much explaining and frantic computer typing we are off to our rooms. In my case I get 172 and I am greeted by a door that when closed almost seals against the jamb. At least at night being able to see the lights on inside my room through the gaps between the door and the jamb make seeing to unlock it easier. My trouble opening the door was resolved with the kind assistance of the prostitute working out of the room next door who explained I had my key backwards and thank her and her client for the help. I am finally in the room that I tempted to call a filthy dump, but as it turns out I saw the local refuse dump and with how much cleaner the dump was I figured that might be insulting to garbage dumps. The highlights were the collection of cigarette butts on the balcony never cleaned up, the mold stains on said balcony and the matching ones in the bathroom, the fecal matter found on the underside of the toilet seat, and no I am not asking how it got under there, the actual burn hole in the carpet, and the stains on the bed spread. The shower curtain rod for some reason is mounted in the center of the tub leaving only a few inches to bathe which came in handy because the water pressure out of the shower head I would equate to, well what I was doing while standing at the toilet when I saw the fecal matter. I also kind of enjoyed the thrill of shower roulette as it seems you only get hot water on half the mornings you stay here, may the odds be ever in your favor. On the phone it was confirmed the free continental breakfast was still being served. I again repeat confirmed on the phone since we are a year into Covid and nothing is assumed anymore so we asked. Once there I located which building it was served in by the signed indicating "Complimentary Breakfast Served Here", but come morning that door is locked. I went to the front desk to ask about this and was told we haven't had that in over a year and a half and it was never free. I did mention the sign using the word complimentary right? Or the fact we were told this on the phone? Good, because according to the guy at the front desk I was told this. So all in all, we still had a fun weekend despite the prostitution, mold, lack of water pressure or hot water, cigarette butts, and filthy room, but I will never even drive past this filthy place again. In fact the only positive thing I can say about it is it isn't as bad as a certain Atlanta hotel I reviewed here years ago.…
Horrible room. Keys didn't work and then we found out you didn't even need a key to get in, all you had to do was push the door open. Reservation mixup but the smoking room we were put in smelled better than the non-smoking room they tried to move us to.
This is our regular overnight stay when we stop over in Tannersville. It is comparatively well priced (for the Poconos). The staff is courteous, professional and welcoming. We have not had problems here.
