My husband and I just returned from a wonderful visit at the Inn at Whitewing Farm. This is the third time we have stayed at this terrific B&B, and it definitely won't be the last. We love it there! The owners, Lance and Sandy Shortt, are wonderful, friendly, and caring people, and their whole family is just as friendly as... More

Sandy the innkeeper was just lovely. Checked into this pretty countryside retreat just outside of Kennett Square for our annual mother/daughter weekend. Booked the Hackney Suite - a pretty yellow and blue spacious room with a great gas fireplace and lots of windows overlooking the tennis court and beautiful lush grounds. Just perfect for the 3 of us. I planned a trip to Longwood Gardens to meet with my sister and her husband that flew into Philadelphia for a reunion. I wanted a place near the gardens and a lovely place as well. The Inn at Whitening was just beautiful and our room, which was the English Garden Suite, was just perfect with it's private garden for us... More

I have stayed in many B&Bs and Inns in the US and abroad, My wife and I rank this up with the best. Most we have stayed at were one building but this was spread out over a beautiful farm. Our Jockey room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was large and could accommodate both of us, not like some... More

The Inn is a very nice place to stay and we would definitely go back. I took my wife here for a long birthday weekend and we were pleasantly surprised how nice and convenient it was to all the local attractions. (Longwood Gardens, Museums, Art Galleries, Restaurants, Wineries)) They have a nice selection of rooms in multiple buildings on there... More

My sister and I stayed 1 night at Whitewing Farm while visiting Longwood Gardens. We were very pleased by the accommodations...the décor, the ambiance, tranquility, the country air. The "barn" was accessible for tea, coffee, treats...very nice. I would definitely recommend this B & B. The family has put in many work hours remodeling and decorating and it surely shows.... More

I was in the area for business, and it was so lovely to leave it all behind at the end of the day and stay at Whitewing Farm. Comfortable bed, lovely green spaces - quite a respite. Warning to Type A personalities -- I had some trouble with cellphone reception, and the wifi didn't extend as far outside as I... More

My fiancé and I stayed at The Inn At Whitewing Farm on a trip up to the Brandywine Valley to visit Longwood Gardens. Lovely place - innkeeper Sandi was very nice and accommodating. Room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Fabulous breakfast, and Keurig machine and snacks were available around the clock. Reasonably priced, too!

Other than the obvious beauty of the grounds, the hosts; Lance and Sandy, make this one of the best places for a retreat, small conference or wedding. the quaint rooms and cottages are perfectly maintained and the main room in the Hay Barn is perfect for intimate gatherings. The food that Lance prepared amplified his success as a restaurant owner... More
