Clean, well located hotel with an accommodating staff. Check-in was smooth. Breakfast area was clean and well stocked, keep up with demand from teen sports teams. Visited the casino which is essentially in the same parking lot. There is also a Texas Roadhouse next door which appeared very crowded. Hotel seemed to have sufficient staffing to keep up with demand which is not always the case these days.

We stayed in a king bed suite in this hotel for 3 nights and had a very pleasant experience. The lobby is a bit small, but clean and well kept. Hot breakfast is back! Each day they feature new hot items like omelets, bacon, sausage, etc. it was really nice to have protein on the breakfast. No waffles or pancakes though. It’s continental with 2 hot options.

We did not use the pool, but it small and is outdoor.

Very short Walking distance to Red Robin and Texas Roadhouse. We didn’t go there but the hotel told us we would get 10% off coupons if we did. There is a great local park and playground if you have kids. You could walk there or drive 1 minute across the highway. Very modern and clean park.

My only nitpick was the decor. The hotel feels like it hasn’t had a fresh modernization since the 90s. The wallpaper, carpet colors, decor could use some modern touches. They also do not have mobile room keys so the digital check in is kind of useless except for choosing your room. I believe the staff said it is due for a renovation in 2023. It needs it. The shower was also looking a bit old and the shower head needs an upgrade.

That said, I would definitely stay here again. Great location, clean, quiet, friendly staff. The staff was very welcoming to our young children as well. A few upgrades and an bigger breakfast and it would be outstanding.

It was about two week ago that my wife and I spent three nights at this very good hotel. Its location is convenient to move in and out of York, the rooms are relatively large and well fitted with all the amenities we normally expect. The bathroom was modern and very clean.

Our first contact with the front desk staff was very pleasant. We tried to check-in earlier than 4pm, but no room was ready, therefore we shifted our schedule with other activities, and by 1pm we were back and we got into a first floor room. All along the personnel was very helpful and understanding, guiding us on a map to the places we needed to go.

We were very happily surprised by the quality and variety of ingredients in the complimentary breakfast. Several types of juice, waffles, a good selection of cereal and yoghurt, and at least two kinds of fresh fruit. The coffee and tea were excellent. However, there could be improvement on the bread and pastries choices. Most of them looked very plain and unappetizing. I did try some croissants, but there was no easy way to heated up, therefore what I did, was to use the waffle gridles to do it. Obviously, the croissant was squashed, but it was quite edible and very warm.

In all, a very good hotel, with many pleasant details to enjoy, and one we do not hesitate to recommend to everybody heading to York.

Stayed here along with our daughter’s college swim team. Rented the meeting rooms to host team meals during the meet.
The meeting room was set up perfectly so they could all eat together & we had space to set out the meals.
The guest rooms were clean and beds very comfortable so all we’re able to rest up for their events.
The breakfasts were delicious & available early.
The Staff from front desk to kitchen to housekeeping were all so friendly, helpful & welcoming.
Highly recommend this hotel!
Thank you

My husband and I stayed here for the PSAC swim meet simply because this was the same hotel our son's team (WCU) was using and we'd get to see him a bit more often.
The room was clean, pretty. The bathroom was efficient. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and it was nice to have it run until 10am (seems like most places are done by 8am)

The hotel staff were friendly and quickly brought up a new bottle of conditioner when notified that ours was empty. That’s about all the hotel had going for it.

The rooms are completely outdated and musty. Even turning down the AC on the outdated AC unit didn’t help. The carpet felt sticky and moist. You don’t want to go without shoes or slides on your feet. The beds were AWFUL - they were so hard that it made it hard to sleep, the pillows have no firmness, the room is tiny and there isn’t much room to move around with any suitcases you may have. Additionally, the comforter was not comfortable.

The gym is TINY and most of the equipment doesn’t work. It’s also in the “laundry room” which creates a real funky smell - not a gym smell but a moldy clothing smell.

Overall I was very disappointed with my stay, especially for the cost that I paid. I would not recommend staying here and I won’t return.

If you ever want to see what the first ever Hampton Inns looked like when they were built, this is the place to go. This place hasn’t been updated since it’s original build date which I’m guessing was probably in the early 90s. We’re talking original brown granite countertops, carpeted floor moldings, no USB ports. It’s a classic.

What this hotel does have going for it is that it’s super clean and pretty well maintained. It’s also at a large intersection with just about every chain restaurant in American within 5 mins.

This is a serviceable, clean hotel in need of an update given that they’re surrounded by several more recently renovated choices.

Response from Phillip Murray, General Manager at Hampton Inn York
Responded Jan 20, 2023
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review, it is so very much appreciated. The hotel team is very proud of our hotel and the upcoming planned renovation this year. The hotel has had an updated soft renovation that included, mattresses, ac units, linen, duvets. etc. We strive for perfection, and we will order additional USB ports for rooms that may be missing them. Our renovation will be a complete renovation. that will bring us to the current look of the newest Hampton Inns of today. Thank you again for sharing your experience with us and we do look forward to having you return, especially when our renovation is completed. May you have a wonderful day.

Clean hotel, pleasant staff.
The breakfast was covid style, Bob Evans breakfast sandwiches to microwave yourself so we went to a nearby diner.
I would have taken a banana or granola bar if they were out. Also, could have used some water bottles.

I was very worried about traveling during the pandemic but needed to visit my family. We've always liked Hampton Inn and found it reliable, and this experience did not disappoint. The room appeared spotless and as clean as possible. Communication around changes in housekeeping practices and breakfast were clear. Breakfast was really well-done and filling, even with the needed modifications. And generally, the hotel was quiet; well-organized (ice outside hall corridor so it wasn't noisy; good stock of frozen dinners; tiny but good exercise room); and of course perfectly located. Additionally, I left something behind and the team helped me retrieve it, no problem. It was a great trip! Thank you, Hampton Inn.

Back when my stepmom was a manager there. This place was amazing. Genuinely friendly staff and great amenities. I can’t vouch for that anymore. Most of the staff is professional and at best courteous albeit a little clueless. As with any company one or two rotten apples can spoil a bunch. I found stained and bloody linen in my room. I was understibly upset, but calm. Told staff and they seemed clueless as to what needed to be done. I also had to deal with the temper tantrum of a young black woman who worked there merely for asking her to clarify something she said while standing in my paid room. This girl starts shouting and seemingly trying to egg me on. It wasn’t until my mom who was also there rounded the corner and asked her what the problem that this banshee proceeded to leave. I still don’t know nor care her issue. But it is ironic how quickly her attitude shifted when she realized I wasn’t by myself and there was a witness to her antics. As for myself I simply tried to deescalate instead of engage. Something I’ve been trained to do at my own employ.
