I was in York, PA for a wedding. This hotel was the designated place for all out of town guests. After a four drive from NY I arrived at the Marriot Courtyard at 2 am on a Friday morning. I was worried because I hadn't made reservation for Thursday night/Friday am arrival. The front desk person checked found an available room which I was able to check into immediately. Since I had reservations for Friday and Saturday night they were able to just roll over my room into the Friday/Saturday reservation. I did have to change rooms but it was only a couple of doors down the hall. I came in early because I was invited to play golf with the father of the bride. Covid protocols were observed at all time with masks mandatory, hand sanitizers stations, and social distancing. The service was attentive and helpful. The room was typical hotel room it was clean and comfortable. The hotel was conveniently located next to a shopping mall where shopping and food were readily available. The after party for the wedding was at the same hotel which made it convenient without having to worry about taking Uber or shuttle. I enjoyed my stay at the Marriot Courtyard.

Check-in went smoothly. The room key machine was having difficulties and the staff member was frustrated. My room was nicely appointed with little signs of wear or tear. Room was nicely cleaned. Comfortable stay. Ample parking onsite. Nearby shopping and dining options. I would visit again if in the area.

Let me start by saying that we travel a lot. From check in to checkout everything at this hotel was at the expected Marriott high standard level. Staff were super helpful and friendly including the Manager William. Rooms were modern and very clean. Lobby and parking areas were tidy. Location was ideal in that it was just off highway but not too noisy. This is why we choose Marriott properties.

We have stayed here several times, and this stay was awful. The most impactful issue was the fact that the hotel made no effort to manage covid safety. People were permitted to congregate in the lobby in large numbers with no masks on. On one night of our stay, there was a sports team having an equipment issue event, and they took over the lobby and bistro, and every nook and cranny of the first floor. I'm talking about over a hundred people crowded in that space for over an hour. The new manager was on site and did nothing to solve the issue.
Outside of covid safety, there were other issues. The hotel is clearly a popular place for sports team weekend travel, but the hotel does nothing to publicize or control any kind of curfew. So, with parents partying in the lobby, this means kids in large groups are running the hallways at all hours. Noise travels very well in this hotel, and it could be heard not just from m the hallway, but the adjoining room, as well as the room above.
Bridget at the front desk was the one and only staff member who belongs working in hospitality that I encountered. She was kind, helpful, and can clearly juggle a lot.

I stayed for 2 nights at the Courtyard York. Overall, the rooms are comfortable and the staff are friendly. It just seems like the hotel is trying to do the very bare minimum, though. We stayed in a room with 2 queen beds - there was one bath towel, one bar of soap (not even one for the sink and the shower), and one of the beds didn't have a duvet - just the top sheet. In general, the place is poorly maintained - there is dryer lint all over the front sidewalk, the interior stairs have rubbish strewn in them, and multiple ceiling tiles were water stained. Definitely not living up to the normal standard for Marriott properties.

I've stayed here 3+ times, prior being about a year ago. The location needs some work - the entry has yellow warning tape around it and my bathroom needs some TLC (peeling wallpaper, toilet seal coming off, etc). Also, I'm a frequent traveler and need to do laundry on long trips - it's $7 in quarters per load, no change/card machine and the front desk doesn't make change. Who carries that?! I t feels mercenary.

I've stayed at this location many times over the past several years. As such, I've come to know what I need to make this a good stay. The walls and floors resonate sound, the area seems sketchy, and even after trying the hotel that basically connects by parking lot, this has been the lesser of evils. I think next time I'll try one of the new properties that I had been avoiding.
After communicating with the front desk and being assured some room requests would be met, when I checked in, they had not actually held to their commitment. So, I had to deal with noise from sides and above way later than is reasonable.
Next, after staying here many times over the past several years, I was hit with a parking fee of $3.00. For parking in York. Seriously? What's next, a towel fee? Don't kid yourselves, this is not some city-location where parking is tight and this fee is justified. It's a rural/industrial area with a massive empty parking lot for a distribution center across the street. Work your costs into your rate, but don't nickel and dime us, it's just insulting to your customers.

Disappointed that we were charged a COVID fee and yet only one of the two elevators was working. Given there was a large wedding party using the elevators, making it necessary for me to wait for the elevator to cycle for them three times before I could use it the evening we arrived.
The next morning was the same. I had to use the stairs to get down and up in a timely manner.
The attendant at the desk was not aware the elevator wasn’t working.
When you are trying to get your luggage up and down and one elevator isn’t working add the COVID makes it uncomfortable to be with others on an elevator.

We have stayed here before since we enjoy visiting the York area. The hotel is nice and comfortable but; we had no maid service the two nights of our stay. We were out for four hours the first day and two hours the second day. Two house-cleaning carts were in the hall both days when we left our room. The trash was overflowing, the towels were wet and nasty, and I miss having nice crisp bed linens to climb into at night. Sorry, this is one of the reasons I like going to a hotel. What happened? Why no maid service? There are other hotels to choose from that hopefully take care of their guests. Definitely not Marriott Bonvoy quality/service.

Stayed here one night on business. Recommended hotel by our York PA, local business partner. Nice, modern amenities, showing some problem in the details. 3rd Floor Room had low shower pressure & flow. The shower door seal was not working, leaving a puddle covering half of the washroom floor. My room, 331, was missing the number plate. So I had to use deductive reasoning to guess…. Fresh baked cookies on arrival were nice… As was the location/proximity to shopping.

Courtyard by Marriott offer a bistro on site for breakfast purchase. Courtyard by Marriott rarely have complementary breakfast, unless it is part of the specific rate you purchase
