Detailed Reviews
Went for one night to celebrate my son and nephews birthday. We purchased the stay and play package and it was definitely a money saver. The hotel was accommodating and clean, I’d suggest bringing pillows if you tend to sleep with firm pillows. With the package you also get a $25 coupon for the pub located on the premise; food and drinks were great!! Loved the beer on tap selection!! Prices and service were great also! Not too much to do in surrounding area unless you drive about an hour, but this is a great one night getaway for families. The tubing was perfect for coupes up kids of all ages.

My husband and I spent an evening at this hotel as part of a quick golf weekend getaway!
The pros... The golf course was awesome, my husband enjoyed playing both days (Sat & Sun). And the food at the on-site restaurant (Avenue Ale House) was quite delicious.
The cons... The hotel/resort is quite dated looking, and could use some upgrades. The bathroom was incredibly tight with hardly any space to move around. And although the bed was pretty comfy, I didn't get a good night's rest because we were given a room directly next to and across from a loud, drunk wedding party! They made noise all night and then again in the morning without caring at all about the others on the floor! Thanks to the paper thin walls we could hear everything, and it was truly disruptive. A bit of a suggestion to the reservation and/or front desk staff is to maybe not book rooms directly next to wedding parties, especially when you have rooms available on other floors! It's not fair to those guests who expect and actually look forward to a good night's sleep!

We had an excellent experience with Heritage Hills in using their meeting rooms for a week of meetings. Due to COVID, it was important that we make everyone feel safe, and they did a great job of doing this. We had a lot of changes throughout the week but the event planning team was so flexible and easy to work with. I highly recommend.

I am a single mom with a 4.5 year old and was thrilled to find something fun & outdoors to do that would be Covid safe. I drove 2 hours, booked 2 nights and it s 12:40am on night one snd the noise is so bad, my som finally fell asleep an hour ago and I’m still wide awake.
There are groups of 10 or more people on my floor and inside the resort without a mask, no enforcement and a total lack of consideration for others. I tried to handle on my own and I was met with hostile behavior, I was sworn at infront of my son and I’m scared to leave my room.
I contacted the front desk, he could not have been nicer but he is 1 person on a property of over 100 rooms without any authority to enforce the state regulations.
Stay FAR away!

Thank you so very much for sharing comments about your experience. We apologize for the experience that you had. We did follow COVID-19 procedures and did our best to enforce the mask mandate at that time. SO glad that you had a great interaction with the Front Desk. We hope that you give us another chance if you visit the area again. Stay safe & healthy. Warm Wishes and Safe Travels.

HH has been our family’s Go To spot when we gather from out of state. We’ve been staying, playing, and dining here for decades. We’ve even held a family wedding here and have many happy memories. Sadly, the new management/owners have done nothing to maintain the hotel. I’d like to say it needs a “refresh”, but in fact, it needs a renovation. The furniture, decor, carpets, and wallpaper have not been maintained and are now dark and stained. There was no more than one person working the desk throughout our 4 day stay and often times, the desk appeared to have no one working. The furniture has been removed from the lobby, causing the hotel to look dark and abandoned upon arrival. There were beer bottles and empty cigarette boxes in the floral arrangements outside the front door for several days. There was a pervasive smell of smoke (and it wasn’t cigarette) throughout the hotel. It was clear from all the signage that the owners are invested in the new restaurant “The Avenue”; Happy Hour in particular. This comes at the expense of families or folks who aren’t there for happy hour. Another family member and I tried to arrange a dinner party for 6 at The Avenue, to celebrate a birthday. Over the course of two days, we were unable to access a restaurant manager. Although there was a helpful waiter the first day, who assured me we could bring a bakery cake in, when we came back the following day cake in hand, we were unable to get restaurant staff to open the doors. It was five minutes after they were scheduled to open. They also did not answer the phone when we tried to call for assistance. It’s very sad to see such a significant decline in what used to be a beautiful and special place for our family. While I understand that Covid has put a strain on all businesses, the condition of the hotel and lack of service in general couldn’t be written off to Covid. We were grateful to the dedicated, long time staff person who worked at Mini Golf, as well as the hard working waitress at The Avenue our first night there. Next time we will take our business and spend our money elsewhere.

Hotel was nice, clean, and comfortable. Room doors are too thin and all hallway noise goes right into the room.
Restaurant food is good. The breakfast however a buffet only. No a la carte options. We wanted a very light breakfast but ended up having to pay $15 for basically some fruit and yogurt.
Everything also is served on plastic and the hotel has no recycling receptacles anywhere.

They double booked us at the Farmhouse and canceled our reservation after significant travel arrangements and expenses were incurred by 4 couples traveling in from 4 states. We were offered same price accomodations at the hotel, but the very outdated hotel is not close to the same quality of accomodations, we asked them to comp a couple rounds of golf to make it right and keep our business for next year and they denied us. The Farmhouse right on the course is a unique and beautiful arrangement! It's something we could have made an annual trip but their disorganization and unwillingness to make their mistake right leaves a 1/5 experience

This place is fantastic. The rooms are a little dated but clean and spacious. Golf...amazing, Becca and Matt in the Pro Shop, Johnny at the front desk and Logan at the bar/restaurant made everything come together. Friendly and overall great service and food too!
The course (only played front 9) was in great shape and challenging. The rec center was a great surprise. It has everything!
This resort is not a usual stop for me, but I was visiting family. It was a great experience all around.
Also, the people that obviously were "locals"
Made me feel comfortable and welcomed.

Played heritage Hills today. Resort? Seriously? Cut the crap. Played the front 9 in 1 hr, 55 minutes, then went to hole #10. They jammed AT LEAST 3 groups of totally incompetent "golfers" with zero golf etiquette in front of us. They are too cheap to hire any course marshalls to handle these buffoons they take $$$ from. After playing 9 holes on the front in under 2 hours, we played 4 holes in 1 hr, 40 minutes. Eventually we played 4 balls each on one hole and bailed. I've had the honor of learning golf from 2 PGA of America Presidents. I've had the honor of playing with a former USGA President. This "Golf Resort" (Joke!!!) is a total insult to serious golfers. If they have the guts to contact me and offer a refund, I would be shocked.

My family and guests all raved about the accommodations provided by Heritage Hills Resort during our stay for my daughters wedding on Sept. 5, 2020. The staff was very pleasant and obliging during our stay within the COVID-19 pandemic. The rooms and common areas were very clean. We had a fantastic view of the golf course. We were fortunate when Heritage Hills Banquet room was available to host our rehearsal dinner. Luckily, they had an availability due to our original venue cancelling due to Covod-19 and the number of guest we had. The banquet room was huge and lovely. The appetizers and buffet were all delicious. I can't thank the Heritage Hill staff enough for a wonderful weekend celebrating my daughter's wedding. Dee G

The Harley Davidson factory is about 5 miles north and offers tours. My in-laws are not bikers, but they had a lot of fun. York has a minor league baseball team that plays in the historic downtown (the Articles of Confederation were drafted in York, so there are historical markers and buildings from pre-Revolutionary War).
Gettysburg National Park is 35 miles west. Hershey, PA (35 miles north) has an amusement park and chocolate exhibits. Codorus State Park (25 miles southwest) offers all the classic summer fishing/hiking/boating recreations around a big lake. Several museums (e.g. watches/clocks and railroads) are in and around historic Lancaster town (25 miles east).
And yes, Lancaster county has tourist-friendly Amish and Mennonite sites and shopping (produce, dairy, woodworking, antiques, textiles). But if it's summer, I'd recommend just getting lost on back roads to the east and south of Lancaster town. That's the Pennsylvania Dutch land that is so pretty--highways 23, 340, 772, and anything smaller than those. And watch out for horse-drawn buggies on the roads!
