Beautiful restoration of a 1925 hotel. But. Street noise and inside party noise were intense at times. Beds lumpy. High tech light switches we could not turn on without calling front desk - in a handicap accessible room! There should be a motion sensor activated light as you enter. Breakfast was nice but having a choice between regular smoked salmon or pastrami smoked salmon would be nice. Service was 5 stars - every single staff member was polite and courteous.

Room Tip: Parking for handicapped is difficult. We got pass for side street parking, but it's not ideal.

The Yorktowne Hotel is what I would describe as a quaint and comfortable hotel in downtown York. Finding the hotel is pretty easy, but the parking is not the best. There is limited parking in the back, but you will have to park in the garage across the street. If you have luggage, I suggest dropping it off in the front before you park in the garage, or you will have to navigate the steps with them.

Check-in people were extremely nice, and the lobby area was warm and inviting. One thing the front desk did not tell me was that I received a $30 food and beverage credit a day for being Diamond. I didn't discover this until the last day which means I wasted that $30 for almost four days.

The room is also decorated as nicely as the lobby and the carpet gives a relaxing mood. I found everything to be spotless in the room and bathroom. While I would not call the amenities high-end, they were nicer than a standard Hilton Garden Inn.

The amenities in the hotel were also a notch above your standard hotel. The workout center had a lot of decent equipment and was clean. The hotel bar in the center of the lobby served great drinks and while I did not try the restaurant, I heard the food was very good as well. If I was ever in town again, I would stay here and take full advantage of that $30 credit. :)

The front desk ladies were welcoming and inviting.
Check in was hassle free. Once checked into our room, we had to request for a housekeeping to re-clean the room , even then so it was not done properly. The bathroom was not stocked with towels, nor wash clothes. There were still garbage in the bathroom trashcan from previous visitors. The hotel rooms are spacious. We enjoyed the rooftop lounge. Parking is across the street from the hotel in a parking garage.

We had our dream wedding this weekend and couldn’t be happier with the results! Perfect weekend from start to finish. From the rehearsal on Friday through Sunday brunch with our guests.

The staff, decorations, food, service, flow, 100% knocked it out of the park.

The hors d’oeuvres were so creative, the dinners were a hit, and they created a special drink for our ceremony with our favorite bourbon.

The rooms were great, all our guests stayed the weekend. We had a suite so we had plenty of room for hair & makeup, snacks, and wedding craziness.

The venue is a mix of modern & historic and was exactly what we wanted. 100% recommend!

This is a High class establishment, the atmosphere brought by the combination of modern amenities and classic pieces truly brings a new level of hotel experience. Service is prompt, and the staff seem to be eager to aid in providing a relaxing effortless stay for whatever may have brought you to their gorgeous location. The rooms live up to the high expectation! I highly recommend a trip to York and it must include a stay at the Yorktown hotel!!

We went for two nights. The place is refurbished - and they did a good job with the refurbishing. The issue is disclosure and cleanliness. The hotel is branded as "pet friendly". I guess this is true, but they charged us $100 extra to bring our 18-pound poodle mix for two nights. And then didn't clean the room in between (despite the pet being out of the room the whole day). What was the $100 for? My pet did no damage, didn't bark, and didn't shed. This wasn't well disclosed and the staff didn't note the charge - it just appeared on the final bill.

I travel extensively for business, and I'm a loyal Hilton chain customer. I also like historic hotels. They've done a great job remodeling this (although I personally would have picked some different carpets), the staff is very friendly, and the location is super. Breakfast is delicious, and its nice to order what you want, as opposed to the usual 'breakfast' in other hotels, which is not ever made to order.

I stayed here on a bike trip with 2 other friends. We decided on a king bed suite with "sofa bed". My friends had a comfortable night sharing the king bed, but I had a rough night on the tiny trundle cushion that rolled out from under the couch. It was no longer than 5 feet and no wider than 3 feet. My 9 year old *might* have been able to sleep there comfortably, but no one older or larger has a chance of being comfortable.

The staff was lovely. They had accomodation for us to secure our bikes safely overnight. And when checking in, to their credit, they tried to warn me about the bed. But I thought sharing a queen would be a worse night's sleep than the pullout. I was wrong!

Hopefully someone at Hilton will read this and put actual sofa beds as advertised.

What a great stay and very competitively priced! This recently renovated hotel is top shelf. Historic flair with all the modern amenities. Rooms and staff were great, Very good menu and food. A nice bar in the lobby and great bar on the roof with excellent views. Nice to have a number of nice restaurants within walking distance - nice urban feel. Worth any minimal premium in price and the inconvenience of parking across the street - staying in the suburbs is boring.

We stayed at the Yorktowne shortly after it reopened with its new renovations. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everywhere in the hotel was extremely clean. The design and theme of the hotel brings together the old charms of the original hotel and updated modern amenities with the guest in mind. Some of these modern updates include easy to access charging ports in the seating areas of the lobby, saving electricity in the rooms with key inserts and fast charging stations on the night stands. With the original room sizes of the hotel, the rooms are HUGE and bigger than any standard hotel room. Our stay at the Yorktowne was wonderful!
