I am staying in Sailors Loft for business. I work for a New Zealand boat manufacturer which has just relocated the USA sales office to Bristol. Cara contact was timely and our booking from New Zealand seamless. The apartment is ideal. Good cooking facilities, but with a great choice of restaurants walking distance from the apartment. The apartment is spacious,...

I visited The Sailor's Loft this past weekend. I read previous comments about the hard bed, and saw that Cara was going to replace it for a softer mattress. However, this has yet to happen. I ended up sleeping on the pull-out couch, because it was softer than the real bed. The loft is nice, very spacious. It was clean,...

Thanks for the review! Just to let you know the new mattress arrives this week - we ordered it from a local mattress factory in Fall River (Ecin Industries) -- so sorry you're a week too early! Also, I wanted to clarify that we are not a bed and breakfast -- the Sailor's Loft is a self-catering rental. We do...

Hubby and I shared a long-overdue stay at the Sailor's Loft in wonderful Bristol, RI during Restaurant Week, Veteran's Day weekend. We had scheduled our celebration originally in June, then August, but had to postpone both reservations because of family commitments. The proprietor, Cara, was most accommodating and worked with us to reschedule each time. The off-season value is excellent!...

The floor was softer then the bed. Refrigerator had mildew inside and the vent was covered with thick dust. The toaster oven was full of crumbs. The view from loft was beautiful but you couldn't leave the windows open: Directly behind the loft there is a restaurant that vents all the cooking odors into the room.

Dear Judi R. - Thank you for highlighting these concerns. We're going to get a new mattress — probably a pillow top. I had not read yours or the previous comment until yesterday, so unfortunately I was unaware that people had been dissatisfied with the mattress. We'll also do a better job of cleaning – no excuses. Thanks again!

The Sailor's loft was a true blessing to find. We were in Rhodes Island due to a death in the family. we were going to be in town for a week and this was defiantly the best option. Cara the owner was easy to work with and very accommodating. The apartment is located in a prime spot you can walk...

Katie S - Sorry for the slow response - I didn't read your review until yesterday. Thanks for your feedback. I wanted to let you know that we are getting a new mattress and will make a featherbed available for the sleeper sofa. We'll keep an eye on the hangers too. I would love more specific feedback on the shower...

I hesitate to write this review because it seems that everyone has discovered my gem in Bristol and when I try to book it I find that someone has "beat me to the punch". I first booked this for my wife's birthday and surprised her with an overnight stay in Bristol. I had packed her suitcase and products and snuck...

We stayed here while settling our daughter into RWU. It's a large one room studio and that makes it very spacious . We were 5 adults and had enough room for a weekend stay. There is a almost-full size kitchen (no oven) but everything we needed. Queen bed along with a pull out sofa. We brought some blow up mattresses...

This large studio apartment was the perfect retreat in the center of Bristol. The room is sunny and well equipped and designed beutifully. Private for one person or a couple, could be a bit crowded for more than two.

The family that owns the Sailor's loft actually operates three properties like this -- all lovely, well-situated, well-equipped apartments. We recently had the pleasure of staying in the Garden Loft, which was charming. We were a family of four -- two adults, two children (ages 7 and 12). The large studio was spacious and well- equipped: there was a comfortable...

Guest suites seem to be popping up in the area of Bristol, RI. It was a delightful, relaxing, quiet, restful stay at the Sailor's Loft in March. Off season rates can't be beat. Location was perfect. Walked to breakfast and dinner within minutes. Sailor's Loft has a view of the Harbor, and is within 2 minutes from Independence Park and...
