Where do I start!? This hotel was amazing, not too big, and full of charm which made us feel special and not like a number. The location is great, right by the harbor, and walkable to so many restaurants, historical spots, etc. There is a lot of construction across from the hotel but is seems to be interior to the buildings so it was not loud and didn't crowd the streets. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted with a smile by valet; note: it is valet only parking at $40/nt, similar to others I researched. We then proceeded up the curved staircase to the 2nd floor reception desk to check-in where we were met with smiles by all, so warm and welcoming. Check-in was quick and easy. Then on to our 2 queen historic wing room that is down a hallway right off reception but it feels like you are tucked away, so very convenient and was breathtaking upon opening the door. While this level may feel close to the street, it is not ground floor and we barely heard a thing even as the outside foot traffic increased into the weekend. The exposed brick wall, 14 ft ceilings, soft colors, cozy bed, and champagne on ice waiting for us were so lovely. The room was so clean - not a hair, or crumb, just spotless. Plenty of space with the desk and chair, large armoire enclosing the tv, drawers, safe, and 2 areas for hanging clothing, as well as the large nightstand, bistro seating, an upholstered chair, and two luggage racks. The bathroom was nice - vanity with one sink separated by door from the toilet and soaking tub/shower. The room is equipped with a white noise machine which I love, hairdryer, bathrobes, a few hangers (bring more if you have a lot to hang and can travel with them), ice bucket, clock/alarm, soft blankets draped across the foot of each bed, and toiletries in small bottles. I'm sure I'm missing something. What also really set the hotel itself apart were the included amenities such as breakfast delivered to your room, with a paper if you so choose, nightly 5-6pm wine and cheese reception (+ live music on Thurs and Sat), specialty cocktail, nightly 8-9pm milk and cookies, cold water bottles always available by reception, and a cozy rooftop terrace with gas firepits. I cannot say enough good things about our stay and want to especially thank Gabrielle, Melanie, Tess, Douglas, Colin, Aubrey, and Noah who were standouts throughout our stay. Everyone was lovely I just cannot remember all names!

The Best!! Stayed in the historic wing, excellent location, definitely recommend walking down Queen Street to King Street, such a quaint area. Beautiful rooms, breakfast delivered to your room (or lobby or terrace), and waters, snacks, wine, and cookies/milk offered throughout the day. Excellent service. Love this place. Boutique and perfect.

This hotel is not inexpensive, but when you're there, you definitely feel like you got your money's worth. The location is great, it's secure and quiet at night, and you're spoiled from morning til night with goodies like a delicious breakfast brought to your room (or wherever you'd like to dine), wine/cheese/meats, etc. from 5-6, cookies and milk from 9-10 and candy, coffee, cold infused water and fruit 24/7. It is a shame that a huge hotel is being built on the harbor right next door. It definitely blocked some of our view and there was some noise during the day, but we could still look out our "balcony" doors and see the fountain and bay. As far as the balconies go, our was a "balconette", which means we had 2 doors that we could open, but they did not stay open and there was no screen. Needless to say, we didn't utilize them and would've been fine with just windows. The rooms are large and well equipped. The bathroom counter is big, and I was glad to have a tub/shower combination. Didn't need 2 showerheads, but I guess some prefer the waterfall kind. The tub and sink didn't hold water, but it wasn't enough of a problem to report it until we checked out. Appreciated having a safe and refrigerator. Beds were comfortable and the white noise machine ensured we had a good nights rest. Every employee we dealt with was friendly and helpful. We did not want Housekeeping service while we were there, but I'm sure they would've come in each day had we asked. The location is so close to restaurants, rooftop bars, shopping and the City Market. Walking in downtown Charleston, however, is treacherous! Hard to look up at all the amazing architecture without tripping. I have never seen sidewalks so poorly maintained in a major city. Should we ever return to Charleston, we'd definitely stay at Harborview Inn again!

We love this beautiful hotel! We’ve had the pleasure of staying here a number of times through the years and each time it is always welcoming. What do we love about this place?
Location-it is ideal! Right at the Waterfront Park. When you check in the valet will park your car in a covered area attached to the hotel and bring your bags to your room. We didn’t need our car again until we checked out. So easy to get around to amazing restaurants and shopping.
Rooms- We booked a King in the Historic section. Room was nicely furnished with comfortable pillows and soft towels. Plenty of amenities including a small refrigerator and safe. Housekeeping had our room sparkling each day.
Hotel amenities-Each evening you can select your breakfast choices (hot & cold items) and hang the card on your door. You can have the tray delivered to your room, the outside terrace or the inside area at your preferred time. Coffee & tea are provided all day in the main area. From 5:00pm- 6:00pm wine, cheese and other small snacks are served in the lobby. You can enjoy those items in the lobby, main area, terrace or even your room. Milk & cookies are provided at 9:00pm.
Staff- So friendly and helpful! Always greeted with smiles and nice conversation. The lobby area has a nice area off to the side with comfortable sitting that you can enjoy watching people at the fountain below or even just read a book.
Guests- During the evening wine & cheese time we met a mom & adult daughter on vacation from Minnesota that had never been to the area. It was fun discussing restaurants in the area for them to try. They had done their homework on things to do and places to go and mentioned things we hadn’t done before but will add to our list on the next visit.
We highly recommend HarbourView Inn if you are looking for a centrally located hotel with an amazing staff that offers that warm personal touch.

We had been in Greenville for my nephew's wedding and we decided to make a side trip to Charleston on our way home. I am so happy that I found the HarbourView Inn & decided to make a reservation for two rooms. Everything about our stay was fantastic! All of the staff we came in contact with were welcoming & gracious from the valets to the front desk staff. They made us feel like we were family. Great location for exploring Charleston -- tons of restaurants, bars & shops in easy walking distance. They provide a wine hour each evening with some light bites -- a nice touch. Breakfast which is included in the room rate was delicious & delivered to your room (or the roof top terrace when the weather is warm). Good size rooms very well maintained & nicely decorated. Our rooms (401 & 402) had a balcony which provided a nice view of the water. Would strongly recommend staying at the HarbourView Inn if you're in Charleston, SC.

From the moment we were greeted by the professional staff at the HarborView Inn, our experience was nothing less than perfect. We asked for a room on the harbor side and they accommodated our request. The room was spacious and well appointed and the harbor view was perfect. The HarborView Inn is in a great location -- we felt safe at all times, centrally located to the Charleston City Market, delicious restaurants, great shopping, and a lot of historic churches and other must-sees all within walking distance.
The welcome cheese/wine reception is delightful -- it is a way for guests to mingle with other guests and enjoy a delicious assorted display of meats, cheeses, crackers, nuts, fruit, etc., not to mention nice wine selections. We suggest making later dinner plans so one can enjoy the cheese/wine reception.
The continental breakfast is wonderful and a great start to your day. The choices are plentiful -- assorted quiches, baked items, fruit, cereals, juices, not to mention guests are able to order and enjoy mimosas and Bloody Mary's if one desires (these are at a very reasonable fee).
The HarborView Inn is the only place we stay in the beautiful city of Charleston.

Spent a week in Charleston SC, lodging at the HarbourView Inn. Don't let the name mislead you --- the HarbourView Inn is (IMHO), a 5 star hotel. Absolutely EXCELLENT hotel for service, hospitality, and friendliness.
Attendant at entrance door were helpful, friendly and courteous -- not only upon arrival, but the entire week we were there going in and out. Attendants were always willing to answer questions and help when asked. Additionally, the desk clerks, service staff and every single person we had contact with all week, were outstandingly polite and nice.
Breakfast served "in you room" every morning; Speaking of rooms, the room was spotless... clean and well lighted. The restroom was modern and extraordinarily clean.
Wine, cheese, crackers, etc., served at 5pm, and at 9 PM chocolate chip cookies and milk... Lemonade, tea and cold water available 24/7 in snack foyer area. Bottled water available in lobby 24/7. Three types of M&M candy dispensers in lobby for that 'sweet tooth. Oh, Did I mention all of the above are at no additional charge !! Where have you stayed who provides these amenities without dinging you for everything!
Charleston bay and Pineapple Park (believe that was it's name) just across the street. HarbourView Inn is situated withing a couple of minutes walking distance to many of the downtown stores and restaurants. HarbourView is not a huge place, as far the number of rooms, but the hotel decor and personnel make you feel "right at home".
After being there for a week of vacation, I believe Charleston SC is a neat vacation destination and the HarbourView Inn is a good place to stay when your there.

This boutique hotel is well located in Charleston, close to restaurants, shops and the city market. The personalized staff & service throughout the hotel are wonderful, hot coffee and various types of water are available all day in the atrium lobby. A small, limited breakfast is included and is served at time of one's choice to room, lobby or lovely rooftop terrace. At 5:00 PM, a delightful array of wines, meats, cheeses & fruits are available and included with room. Candies and cookies are available as well. The rooftop Terrace is delightful especially after a day of touring. The rooms are very comfortable, very clean, quite large and include 2 closets and lots of drawer space. The bathroom is well equipped, has a normal door offering privacy (not opaque or glass) and everything functions perfectly. This hotel provides an amazing experience and should I return to Charleston, I would stay at the HarbourView Inn. Barbara Butensky

This is our fifth stay at the Harbourview. There are many hotels to choose from in Charleston but we keep coming back to the Harbourview because of the location down by Waterfront Park, the cleanliness of the inn and quietness. I never hear neighbors above me or beside me. The rooms are large and well appointed. They even provide a sound machine which I really appreciate. Breakfast can be brought to your room or eaten on the top floor terrace, which is lovely. Everyone that works there is friendly and helpful. There is also a nightly wine and cheese reception and cookies and milk served later in the evening. We will always stay at the Harbourview when visiting Charleston.

We really enjoyed our stay. This place was really special. The location was perfect. Right across from the water and walkable to just about everything. The rooms were large and comfortable. The mattress was the most comfortable thing I’ve ever slept on. Breakfast was delicious and it was really nice that you could have it delivered to a variety of locations within the hotel. The wine and cheese reception was one of the highlights of our entire trip. We got to know other guests and feel like we have made great connections with them, We became like a little family. It was so nice that there was a refrigerator case of water in the lobby that you could take bottles from anytime you needed them. There were fresh bottles in the room, refrigerator most days also. Fruit, infused water, iced tea, and lemonade were available all during the day as well, we did not know this and had bought drinks that we ended up sending home with some of our new friends that had driven for their vacation since we did not need them. We did not use the bikes, but some of the other guest did and really enjoyed that. We did not know that there was a mini walking tour that was available twice a week in the park across the street, that was complementary. I can’t say that the guide was great and actually gave some poor information and recommendations, but he was very knowledgeable about the history of the city as he is a native. So it was enjoyable nonetheless. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and if we end up back in the area, we will stay there again. I do have a small complaint that when booking there was no indication of any discounted rates like other hotel chains do. I reached out via email to ask several questions and I decided to just throw it out there and see if they offered a AAA discount and I was very surprised to hear that they did. There was no clear way to select that when booking. But I was instructed to go ahead and book and they would take care of it on the backend and send me an updated confirmation. And they did. They were very patient and answered all of my questions.

The construction woke us up very early and was very disruptive. But we were there 4 nights and it was only one time this happened. Like others have said it's best to call the hotel.
