The Harborview was a great place to stay. It was located close to or within a reasonable walk to many of the things to see and do in Charleston. It was also a short walk to many great restaurants. The hotel staff were excellent. Breakfast was great and delivered on time to your room if you requested such. Wine and cheese at 5 was very good. This was our first visit to the hotel. We would stay there again. Prior to arriving I saw comments from past guests about the construction noise. While there is construction at the pier across the street the construction crews didn’t start until around 730. This is part of life and didn’t take away from our stay at all.

Hotel's Favourite
The location was fabulous, walking distance to many sites, shops, & restaurants. Rooms were large & spacious (we chose the city/historical view). The wine down evenings are casual & friendly & the bedtime warm cookies & milk are definitely a perk. "Douglas" made our check-in pleasant & also very efficient in fulfilling any requests (towels, pillows, etc).

My wife and I stayed for four nights in our first visit to Charleston. The Inn is located on the city’s river front across the street from a beautiful fountain. An easy walk to dozens of good restaurants and the free city bus stops in front of the hotel every 20 minutes. Not a “mega-hotel”, the service was always prompt and courteous. Our room was large, comfortable and quiet. Complimentary breakfast options were fresh and tasty. (Ask for the Inn’s signature cocktail). Note: there is new construction on the Inn’s waterside, which may disturb late sleepers.

My husband & I stayed here for six nights on a visit to Charleston in late March 2021. Our arrival was not auspicious because we faced a lot of traffic and storms on the drive to Charleston and didn't pull up until 11:30 pm. The desk staff was friendly but we didn't get the typical "welcome to our hotel" rundown of things. We then got to our room which did face the harbor, but also a construction site. The next morning was Sunday, so there was no construction noise and we had a comfortable night. Monday morning, and the days following, the construction noise began at around 7:30 am. We didn't find it that bothersome, actually, as we kept the fan running and a white noise app. I was more saddened by the view. One of the hotel staff said it was likely to last another year, year and a half. That said, we really liked this hotel for the following reasons: staff were friendly and generally helpful; rooms were very good, including comfortable beds and pleasant showers; the location was very helpful for getting around the city; and the hotel was actually very quiet despite the harbor, traffic, and construction .
