Staff and facility was excellent for our purposes. We felt secure cared for and comfortable throughout our stay. A popular place reservations are needed early. Both the main house and the carriage house recommended.

We stayed in room 7 and as the other reviews have said - it is small. Everything that you need is there, but the room is cramped. Being on the top floor was great because it was quiet. But, be ready to climb some steep stairs to get there. Bottom line, for the price, this is a good value. There...

We had such a nice little stay here. The staff was so helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The inn itself is so charming and homey. They had nibbles out all day long and even a little screwdriver happy hour at 4pm. We stayed in room 4. It was beautiful. (Wish I had gotten a pic!) When you arrive,...

The room was gorgeous, and the staff went out of their way to help us. We told them when we booked it, that I had a cane and they made sure to have a 1st floor room for us. The food was wonderful too.

We love staying at B&Bs and have done so in several cities. Since Charleston is known for it's historic homes and elegant architecture, we decided that a B&B there would be a great idea. Barksdale House Inn did not disappoint in that respect. It's beautiful. Our room was huge - on the street side of the house on the first...

Thank you so much for the wonderful review of our property. We are thrilled that you chose us as your place to stay while visiting Charleston, but are upset to hear that breakfast was not as enjoyable as it could have been. We always try to be as accommodating as possible, and this includes dietary restrictions. Since we don't often...

The overall experience was excellent. The food and service were outstanding. The house is charming if a little run down. The decor is terrible (mismatched floral wallpapers) but it somehow manages to be quaint. The mattress could be better.

Great location, including free parking. very helpful staff and we hadn't realized that we'd get more than a continental breakfast on the weekend. Nice surprise. Self-serve coffee always available, room was spacious. Yes, some things were a bit dated but it's historical!

We had a lovely stay at the Barksdale Inn. Great location with restasurants nearby. The staff was helpful and it was very clean. We were on the third floor in a king bedroom. The bed was great as were the linens. The climb to the third floor was a bit daunting on a regular basis. The food was good and...

All Barksdale staff were very helpful, and it had high standard facilities in an historical building. Well located to be able to walk to French quarter or to museum area. Good breakfast with hash browns, good parking option. Just try not to get a room on the third floor ; not good with heavy bags.

Went for a short stay in charming Charleston with one of my sons. We stayed in this charming Inn. We got a room with a lot of nice "southern" atmosphere. The location was great and a short walk to the main street
