I stayed here one night to check out Charleston on my way to Hilton Head. I reserved a one bedroom suite. When I got there they said they only had a studio. I paid with points. I showed them my reservation on my Hilton App. Manager came and said he was sorry but no more 1 Bedrooms. Offered me 10,000 points. (Which 13 days later I still haven’t received so I complained on the Hilton App). The funny thing is there was another family checking in at the same time as me and they claimed they had a 1 BR too and prepaid and were being told the same thing as me , only studios. So that tells me something. Then later I called and asked if we needed to reserve a pool time (some hotels have such procedures during covid ). The person on the phone said no and just to use whenever. We got all ready (2 young kids with me ) then went down to desk to ask a question about eating out by the pool (it is outdoors). That person told me the pool was closed because some part they are waiting on. Kids got upset. They had no sign on the pool door and we weren’t told that at check in or when I previously called from my room. The only reason we stayed here was because of our points buying us a 1 Bedroom. If I knew it was going to be a studio, there were better options in the city or even in Mount Pleasant or West Ashley. The parking staff and bar staff were nice. However I think there is some serious miscommunication and even some dishonesty with the front desk staff.

Hotel's Favourite
We recently stayed here for a week while my husband was doing work in Charleston. We opted for the next tier internet because my children and myself were doing “remote school”, never once did we have an internet issue. Our room was very spacious and clean. The hotel staff is beyond amazing! Many thanks to Britton who gave us several suggestions of places to eat. While we weren’t in the “heart” of downtown we were still able to walk or use a Lyft to go wherever we wanted with ease. Very pleased with our stay!

To start, when we checked in there was no toilet paper in our room and only enough towels for two (not three to four per the room occupancy) then after I called down to the front desk to request these basic items no one came to drop any off. I had to physically go to the front desk and request them again hours later for them to finally bring me any. Maybe they’re still low from the start of the pandemic a year ago. The housekeeping staff was rude to us and clearly didn’t do their jobs because our room was dirty. Also, we asked to have our trash taken out and were told to put the cans in the hallway which we did around 8am. Obviously they told everyone to do this and after 5pm only a few rooms in our hall had their trash taken care of. I think all three of our trash cans were in the hallway more than 10 hours before someone took care of it after I physically went to the front desk to request someone take care of it. What’s the point of trying to protect people by not having the cleaning staff come in every occupied room each day of guest have to come to the front desk each time they need service. The housekeeping staff ignored us during multiple interactions and didn’t even speak basic English. Worst of all, while they were cleaning rooms they always had their masks around their necks or chin defeating the purpose of having a mask while interacting with guests in the hallway. Last of all, we believe Southern Valet scuffed up both sides of our car and refused to do anything about it. The General Manager of Home wood Suites by Hilton also refused to do anything about it.

This location was in a perfect spot to see all the attractions as well as being close to food, shopping, and other amenities. Very easy location to catch an Uber/Lyft from and quickly got us to where we wanted to go.
