I've traveled to many locations and countries and out of all, this is within the Top 10 locations I will continue to visit during my business trips and tours. Postives: -Mr. Kevin, I have seen your name throughout many reviews. Let me say, you did not disappoint. From the first greet, until the very end, you made me feel as if I was apart of the Emeline family. Between, you, Mr. Keith, and Mr. Vincent. I enjoyed our numerous conversations throughout my tenure at this locations. Your leadership and standards trinkle down to those who work for you as the environment was very hospitable and welcoming. Please continue this as this is the staple to customer service. - Being offered the DOTD, is amazing for those arriving to the hotel. Please keep this as it's a feature I haven't recieved as previous hotels I've paid $550 a night for. - Having a restaurant lists for visitors. Amazing as it's always great getting the locals views on tasty food. - Great tour choices and lists for diverse tourists - Room was AMAZINGLY comfortable. I had chosen the Collector's Suite. It was the perfect amount of space for me. -Drinks at Fannie and Fox -Location is walking distance to almost everything. Cons: - I understand many have different pallets. However, the food need a little work. I would have loved giving my money to this restaurant as I've invested in this hotel, however, I frequent nearby restaurants which was amazing. - Restaurant hotels and Brunch menus listed Something this hotel should also look into is having heated bathroom floors. Regardless, I had an amazing stay at this location. I will be back. I was a little hesitant due to a few reviews. However, I'm glad I followed my intuition and visited. I think you should try it as everyone have different experiences and views. Oh. FYI. If you would like to give me an upgrade or discount for my next visit. I will not be upset at all. Haha. Thank you for your time!!

Hotel's Favourite
Everything during our stay at Emeline was absolutely beautiful. Not only was the decor and aesthetic perfect, but everyone we came in contact with was so friendly and welcoming. Kevin was awesome and even sent us home with some goodies for the road trip back to Charlotte. The restaurant (Frannie and the Fox) is always one of our highlights when visiting- highly recommend the Negroni and tomato toast 🙂 They have kept the small details in mind when curating the hotel. Things like the water bottles in the gym for after a sweaty Peloton ride, the water stations for easy refills on every floor, free room service coffee and cute bike rentals to scoot around town on really make your stay extra special. Can’t wait to come back!

We wanted to try this new boutique property. Check in was easy, we received a complimentary upgrade- room was spacious, tv in bedroom and LR. Closet was an apparatus attached to the wall( had not been dusted on the top in a long time) -- it was an open device with hangers for clothes and drawers. The bed itself wasn't very comfortable-- the kind where it was mattress only, no box springs-- not the best for us. The real complain for the room was the bathroom-- really slippery floors especially in the shower( no grab bars). The restaurant was great- terrific server and service, good menu, not extensive but adequate. Go someplace else for coffee and...-- the place in the lobby is jammed and takes a long time.

We were very excited to try the Hotel Emeline and really excited to enjoy Charleston post vaccination. We had the option of either returning to the Belmond or trying Hotel Emeline. Looking at the reviews and the website, we decided on the Hotel Emeline. Poor decision. Best to go with what you know will be good. Even before arriving at the hotel, we had issues. Knowing that Charleston was getting busy, I tried multiple times to contact the concierge in hopes of making dinner reservations. I first sent an email, waited a few days and got no response, then I called the hotel, only to be given a different email address from the concierge (why they didn't just help, I don't know). Again, sent an email, and no response. Then I called again, finally reaching someone. Turns out the concierge doesn't really have a good grasp of good dining in Charleston. They simply look up restaurants on Resy and make reservations through Resy. We ended up having to make our own reservations. We also tried to call and talk to someone about charging our car. The lack of knowledge about options was a bit surprising. At arrival, we had to find a valet. No one greeted us, no one offered to help with bags. At check-in, I asked a few questions about Charleston. The response was that the person wasn't from Charleston and didn't know. They are incredibly under-staff and lack customer service skills. I called to get a pillow case for the pillows and lotion because none was provided in the room, and was still waiting an hour later. Finally had to leave for dinner and asked at the front desk for the items. The encounter with one really obnoxious staff member was sort of the final straw. We met a few other guests while having a cocktail and they all said the same thing... just not as nice as they would have wanted and lacked staffing to service the guests. Additional points: 1. Nice to have bikes available, but check the bike out before you leave so that you don't get one that has seen better days. 2. They offer NO room cleaning during your stay, supposedly due to COVID. This to me is an excuse to save on costs as I've stayed elsewhere where room cleaning is done on request. 3. Beds are comfortable, but the bedroom is tiny. 4. Fitness room is adequate. 5. Outdoor courtyard is a nice place for cocktails, BUT, they don't serve you tables in the courtyard, you have to cue up and get your drink. 6. Location is in the heart of downtown, so that's good. In short, I would not pay the money to stay here. I would recommend the Belmond or Wentworth Mansion.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in April. We arrived early, but were able to check in and given a complementary upgrade. The staff is friendly and helpful. Cody at reception gave us great dining recommendations — we needed help finding somewhere as my husband has a shellfish allergy and many restaurants in Charleston are seafood heavy. She took her time and made sure the places she was directing us to were open at the time we wished to eat as well. We really appreciated the attention by staff and enjoyed the outdoor area of the bar and restaurant on site after busy days sightseeing. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms were quiet. The toiletries smelled amazing. We loved the record player and selection of records available in the room. I would not hesitate to book here again and will consider the hotel’s sister properties for future trips as well.
