I rarely stay at Marriott hotels, but every time I give it a try I seem to get burned. I was really excited to take my daughter for a college visit to Charleston SC. It was more the experience of showing her around this beautiful little town with great food and amazing pre-civil war architecture…and also to experience the history...

Room very nice, recently remodeled ( although bathroom wallpaper a little odd, black and white rabbits???). Clean. Being a long time Marriott member, I expect more from a renaissance hotel. Had to unload my own luggage and take up to my room. Valet outside, but I unloaded my own luggage. Was told to bring the luggage cart back down when...

Recently renovated rooms were lovely. Hotel staff was helpful and friendly. They offer self park and valet parking. The restaurant was not open due to the renovations, but who wants to eat in the hotel when you are in Charleston. (it was open for breakfast) There were plenty of restaurants within walking distance and while we didn't do any sightseeing...

Friendly and accommodating staff. Good location for walking around historic district. However, the restaurant/bar were closed (not mentioned when I made my reservation). They did have a complimentary "continental" breakfast (so so) and complimentary wine/beer in the afternoon (nice touch). However, this is a pricey hotel and they should have let me know when I booked that there was no...

We had our 48th Annual Reunion at the Renaissance Charleston and it was amazing. They decorated our event space beautifully and rhe food was outstanding. I was truly amazed. Everyone loved the hotel and the event. The hotel is perfectly centered for downtown Charleston. In the middle of everything. We had a lot of elders in our reunion and they...

Our stay was from February 23- February 26 (3 nights). In the Marriott system, this hotel is rated an 8 which is the second from the highest rating given. Based on our visit, it does not deserve this rating. When we arrived at our room, there were inadequate drawers to store clothes. Except for one small night table with accompanying...

You should expect room service to be available. It wasn't. I called down in the morning for coffee to be sent up and was told they we not providing room service. You should expect laundry services that get hour order right. I travel over 100 nights per. hear. When i send out cleaning, i always request that everything be folded...

This hotel is in process of renovations which are whimsical and lovely. There is a small amount of work noise during the daytime, but it is minimal and does not go on in the evenings. The restaurant is closed, but they have managed to work around the issues providing a continental breakfast and wine in the evening in the lobby....

The guest rooms feel like a cozy apartment. The wall art is amazing and evokes a playful sense of adventure that the city inspires. This place is beautiful and really close to the best shopping streets in Charleston. My room was large, the beds were very comfortable and the amenities were superb. The TV was large and modern. Everything was...

While the staff are very friendly and the location is great, this will likely be our last stay at this hotel. We have stayed here before and really enjoyed the property but we were not at all happy with what the new rooms have. If you are like us when staying several day, unpacking your suitcase into the furniture drawers...
