Everything about this hotel was delightful. From the moment we arrived at the door, we were treated with friendliness and hospitality. The hotel was beautifully attended to which made our stay enjoyable.
Great location. Easy walking to EVERYTHING Charleston. Clean rooms and although COVID stopped them from cleaning everyday, they were very responsive to re-filling my much needed coffee supply. Great staff. Jay is the very best. He is pure southern sunshine.
Beautiful hotel in a great location. We visited Charleston for a mini vaca while touring the CofC with my daughters. There was a room mix-up (100% the fault of Expedia) but the staff was super accommodating. Ericka was the manager I worked with and while she couldn't completely fix the issue, she went above and beyond to ensure my family was comfortable and satisfied with our accommodations. In the end, everything worked out . . . but if it wasn't for the amazing staff, things could have been much worse.
We have tried the Grand Bohemian and other hotels in the area and found the Renaissance much more enjoyable than any other Marriott property. The staff was great, which we found many to be in Charleston, the gym was better than any others, and the small eat in or take out restaurant (Handy & Hot) had local foods and great coffee/espresso. And Laura from Handy and Hot (turned into a bar at night) made crazy good Tom Collins in the evening. My wife does not even like Gin but the locally distilled gin was perfect for this great warm weather cocktail. My wife's new favorite.
This was my families second time staying at this hotel. It does not disappoint. Jay Carlson the doorman was such a treat. JJ was extremely personable and charming. A man with real southern Charm to match the city.
