We arrived at night and the area as expected in historic area, is not fascinating. However we were told there is safety in town and the hotel is impecable and the halls smelled beautiful. The customer service at all levels is outstanding. Asked for room away from elevator and were glad. The walls seemed thin and noises go through. The...

I've been going to Charleston for 20 years and stayed in a few of the top 5 hotels in the city (one is just a block away) and just discovered this place while we were shopping for a last minute hotel deal for Thanksgiving weekend. The location is perfectly set between King and Meeting Streets. Our room was very large...

Arrived for a quick pleasure trip on a Friday evening. Caught a very good late meal at the Pooch? - forget name only s short walk away. Location is great to see all of historic Charleston! If you haven't been to Charleston you need to see it. Lots to see: old market, harbor, horse carriage tour just to name a...

Loved the location and service of this hotel. The room was perfectly fine as well. My only "complaint" was I found this to be a very expensive city to stay in, therefore, this hotel was a bit pricey for me. But, compared with other slightly cheaper and less centrally located venues, it was no question we went with a great...

My bf booked this hotel at the last minute as the rates had dropped lower than another hotel we had booked. One cannot complain about the location as it is close to just about anything you'd like to do and see in Charleston. They have bikes you can use (free of charge!). Yes the carpets in the hall and the...

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is great and rooms are large. We enjoyed the bar, the piano player in the lobby, and the breakfast. We would stay here again if we return to Charleston.

Really nice hotel, good mix of modern and old looks.Staff was extremely kind abd very helpful. Rooms are nothing special, but they are clean and well taken care of. Two little things were wierd though: 1. There are not enough outlets by the bedside table to plug in cell phones. 2. Wifi cost money if you are in your room...

The best upscale chain hotel you can get to be right in the middle of downtown Charleston. Tons of restaurants and bars nearby. The lobby was grand and modern as I expected. The rooms were a little dated which I was not expecting from the Renaissance family. The bathroom was especially dated with "Days Inn" kind of tile on the...

This is my go to in the charleston area. Great location with a friendly staff. You can walk to the more tourist area or to upper king for dinner. Breakfast is excellent in the morning. Rooms are always very clean although the bathroom is small.

Yes, the location to this hotel is key! Requested early check in and got it. Lobby, bar area, and all of downstairs in hotel is beautiful. Rooms were fine. Not the biggest, same with the bathroom but clean and just fine. Parking garage across from hotel is great for only $12. Stay here for great service and great location.
