We were reluctant to pay this much for 2 nights but the location was absolutely awesome. Close to everything in beautiful Charleston. The property itself is very historic and beautiful. Our room was adequate, well maintained. On the small size, but the bathroom was spacious although it has a heavy sliding door that didn't close tight. No refrig or micro. Bed was comfortable. Quiet room with nice view of the street and city. Valet parking was crazy - $38 per night. There is a public lot literally right behind the hotel with a ramp that walks right into the hotel for half the price. Nice pool area. Gorgeous fountain - be sure to check it out at night. Front desk staff very pleasant. Not sure I'd stay here again but happy I did once. Charleston is simply amazing and there are tons of room options.…
Family of five stayed at Mills House for five nights. If you choose this hotel you are choosing it for its fantastic location off one of Charleston’s most charming streets- Queen St. with amazing cafes and restaurants. This hotel is historic and one of Charleston’s oldest. The lobby is spacious and attractive. The rooms, though, are drab but spacious and clean. This is not a trendy hotel with luxury amenities. If the hotel refurbished its interiors it would be a good investment. Service at front desk and valet was solidly good. I do recommend the hotel implements better security policies since side doors were open to the public into the evening and delivery services for food were allowed up to floors. If you’re willing to compromise luxury and stay in a charming hotel in a great location at a good price point - this is the place. …
Nice hotel in a great location. Rooms were nice. Friendly staff. The only complaint, I do not think they were prepared for the spring break crowds. The hotel was understaffed. Everything took longer than it would normally take. Side affects of Covid I suppose.
We were amazed that Wyndham would put us in such a closet of a room. We thought they must have made a mistake. The food was good and the bartender was very friendly. We had a good time in Charleston even so, it is a great city. Ask more questions than we did, before you pay so much money.
Nice hotel but our stay was negatively impacted by an air conditioning issue. Upon arriving to our two rooms after checking in we found both rooms to be warm and stuffy. Playing with the room thermostats did not fix the issue. The windows in the rooms were sealed shut and could not be opened. We returned to the front desk for assistance and found out the air conditioning system for the whole hotel was down. No mention was made of this issue when we checked in 30 minutes earlier. Upon further questioning the front desk personnel indicated that the air conditioning would not be repaired till the next day. I would have thought that the hotel might have mentioned the issue when we checked in and might have come up with some compensation for their guests (free breakfast? discount on the room rate?) but the front desk attitude was essentially tough luck. Our travel companions decided to check out of the Mills House and check into a hotel about a mile away. …
