Hotel is as nice as it gets. Free snacks and drinks in the room, which the kids enjoyed. Room was a nice size and very comfortable. The staff goes out of their way to make your stay memorable. We will definitely be back.

Hotel's Favourite
We were looking for a short isolation getaway to Charleston and this was our second stay at The Spectator Hotel. It did not disappoint. In addition to their already "over the top" service, the hotel and staff had implemented safely measures that made us feel very comfortable with our decision. Days before our arrival, I spoke with Nick, the concierge, to ask about the protocols. He was very helpful and professional. Everyone was masked up and you couldn't miss all the hand sanitizing stations and packets. Enough about Covid though. The Spectator has beautifully appointed rooms and I even inquired about the manufacturer of the mattress. It is so comfy, I think I just might have to have one. They have superb butlers (thanks David), great in-room breakfast options, and the Spectator bar is one of my favorites in all of Charleston. The ambience is very relaxing and the craft cocktails by Alan and his crew are top notch. The location is perfect for walking to all your favorite spots. I love this hotel and can't wait to return. Cannot recommend enough. Thanks to everyone for a memorable stay.

This was the only hotel we stayed at on this trip that offered the amenities expected by their 5* rating. The staff was absolutely fantastic. All very friendly and helpful . The valets, when asked how to get to a restaurant, walked us out of the hotel and pointed us to the correct path to walk, Our butler, Dennis , was kind and very helpful as were the front desk people. You are greeted by a delicious rum concoction. Our room was not ready by the assured 4 pm. The front desk people, unasked, made this right for us. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Service, even in these days of covid is impeccable. Included in the room rate is a snack basket as well as a minibar filled with non alcoholic drinks. Amenities are lovely. So glad we chose the Spectator! Made us feel well pampered and back to the luxuries of pre-covid. Kudos to the entire staff.

If you want an "experience" and not just a hotel, then the Spectator is for you. The staff is genuinely interested in making your stay as comfortable and carefree as possible. Their presence is everywhere but not intrusive. Our room was extremely clean and well-stocked with amenities not found in most establishments. The location is central to downtown restaurants and shopping. And the hotel bar was reminiscent of a jazz speakeasy. At every turn, the Spectator delivers.
