This is a lovely hotel in a location convenient to all Charleston offers. Staff went beyond expectations to be of help. The rooms are comfortable and a great place to relax after a day of walking. will definitely visit the Dewberry again.
Got here at 4. Check in time at 3 . Room not ready. Got in room at 5 with dinner at 6 for wedding event. Not enough time to get ready and get there. Sat at the bar no offer for a free drink while waiting. Ordered an Uber. Then saw a dewberry van that took u places downtown for free. No one told us at check in or info in room about van. Others got a welcome bag . They did not give us ours at check in with info about wedding event transportation. I’m disgusted with service here. Our room is so small. We have to go single file to the bathroom. I will never stay here again. We paid 500 a nite and got screwed. We could have stayed at Hampton inn across the street for 180. This is our first covid vacation and it’s been awful
With hotel services at a minimum due to the Pandemic, you would think they would go overboard with the amenities they were offering. We felt the service was average or below. No one seemed to be giving any extra effort.
The Dewberry is fantastic! The service, location, accommodations—everything makes this hotel a worthwhile and memorable visit to the Holy City. The valets are friendly, approachable and more than helpful to get your bags, take you to nearby restaurants and give you advice on where to go. Both bars (the Living Room and Citrus Club) off top-notch atmosphere and make incredible drinks. The rooms are quaint and sophisticated and offer all the luxuries of an ideal hotel. This is what hotels used to be like and I love the Dewberry’s approach. This wasn’t our first visit to Charleston but our first to the Dewberry and I must say it is now a mainstay when we visit the city again. What a lovely hotel!
The Dewberry is unique. The staff feels like family and we love returning each year. It's always a wonderful experience and one we count on for our anniversary celebration. The food and cocktails are top notch! Day & night Managers are fantastic, the Concierge was a delight to work with and the servers in both the Living Room & Citrus Club do terrific job. I will say that the price has gone up significantly which was disappointing but he hotel is trying very hard to adjust with the Covid 19 challenges. Mostly, they need to focus a little more on prioritising hotel guests when employing “no reservation” in the Livingroom and at The Citrus Club. With Henrietta’s closed it didn't feel as relaxing as the Living room was being used as a restaurant. Fingers crossed this changes. They could also stand to have more cars/drivers available for the “complimentary” car service. We were never able to utilize it this time. …
