We stayed in a two bedroom cottage with a loft for two nights and three days on a sold out Easter weekend. It was fun and we will probably return at some point. My kids enjoyed the amenities.

Don’t plan on checking in to a cabin early unless you want to pay an extra fee. We arrived early but decided to go to Pirates Voyage to eat instead of paying to check in early. That was fun, but it is pricey. After lunch, we headed back to the cottage. Our cabin was not ready at check in time, but they made up for it by comping the second parking pass I needed. You have to pay if you bring 2 cars. I appreciated that. It wasn’t a huge deal to me, and the cabin was ready about 45 minutes after.

What you need to know: Get golf gear from the general store. Mini bowling, laundry facilities, and arcade costs extra. The live music night was good and we could hear it all the way at the cabin, so it probably wouldn’t be good if you like to go to sleep early. I enjoyed it though. I don’t think a golf cart rental is necessary if you stay in the cabins because most things are close to the cabins.

Suggestions for improvement: Fix the felt on the pool tables, clean the cabins better (kids feet were black from walking on the floor) and the refrigerator door was sticky, footprints on loft ceiling, walls could be cleaner -beds and bathroom seemed cleaned, make sure to explain everything to first time guests at check in (we were handed a welcome packet-but a quick overview would have been appreciated. Update the outdated signs. A shuttle schedule for January and February was posted at the comfort center across from the cabins. It was April and no April schedule was up. I wasn’t sure if the shuttles were running or not. Staying connected to the Wifi was difficult. 3 adults had 3 different phones and all 3 of us kept getting disconnected. All video games were working day 1, but several were frozen on day 2. We lost some credits and waited for someone to come fix the games but gave up after about 30 minutes.

My kids liked the playground and pools. They swam for 2 hours in the indoor pool, but it was still a little cold for them. I think you will get the most out of this in the hotter months, so you can enjoy the water park and pools. I may return in the summer.

We have been RV camping for over 15 years and have stayed at all types of resorts. For my fellow campers I would like to offer some feedback both positive and negative.
First the pros:
1. The premium sites are large, level, and worth the money.
2. Check in, parking, and set up was a breeze.
3. All of the amenities are brand new, and beautiful. They all appear to be well-maintained so far.
4. There is a gentleman named Mike that supervises many of the activities for children. He is positively fabulous! Can’t say enough great things about him!
5. Restaurant (drinks and food) are really very good.

Now for the cons:
1. There is NO serenity at the “Serenity Pool”. It’s a great concept to have a separate pool for those that would like a little bit more of a relaxing environment, but Carolina Pines has no rules that prohibit small children or rambunctious behavior. We were told that “it was my problem” by one of the staff members (Les). He also said that while I was not the first person to complain about this, there is no plan to change because they need the pool space. So my $18 cocktail ended up with pool water in it and no one cared!!!
2. I called about this situation and the staff response/lack there of, and spoke with someone named Barb. She was seemingly very frustrated and angry that I would be complaining, but took down my name, phone number, and site number for a member of management to “get back with me.” I just checked out and 24 hours have passed and I am STILL waiting to be contacted!
3. They definitely seem be short staffed. Though to be fair, this may be directly related to the current Covid situation. The staff that is here could definitely benefit from customer service training. Very few smiled or greeted us. A few were great, Mike (mentioned earlier) and the gentleman that ran trivia (6/5/2020) was also very nice.
4. There are staff members on golf carts that drive very fast through the park and have very little concern/respect for guests that are walking or riding bikes.

Overall, I think this is an enjoyable park and we may return, but I sincerely hope that management will address some of the issues here.

Enjoyed a short weekend stay with the family. The resort is huge, definitely not one of those small cozy little places.

Positives: No lack of fun activites to participate in. We loved the indoor pool (mostly because we had it quietly to ourselves Saturday morning), the big pool/splash pad and slides were a blast with our toddlers. We didn't get to see/do everything but will note that the mini golf, arcade and bowling looked fun too! And we didn't go to the beach but love that they offer shuttles as well as private area to enjoy. Our neighbors were all quiet and respectful. The staff are very friendly.

Cons: The shower that I used onsite was not cleaned and the water pressure was pretty bad compared to other camp sites that I've stayed. Alcohol is allowed at the waterpark, while I'm sure many love, it's a turn off due to smells and a few drunks getting argumentative. Also, I feel that the park is severely understaffed as kids were not playing nicely on many slides and there was no one there to keep down rowdy behavior. The staff that I did spot could have done a better job. Our site didn't come with a picnic table or firepit, which was a bit of a let down. We'd plan to do smores with our little ones.

All of that being said, it was my kiddo's first time at a waterpark and he had sooo much fun. Love that there's enough for smaller ones to enjoy and not just big kiddos. I also appreciate that the place is mostly well kept and quiet in the evenings. And we will definitely be returning.

They have several pools that beautiful. The waterpark is great for kids. We were there without any kids so we enjoyed the adult pools. The sites are basic but very nice. There really any trees for shade so it gets really hot. All the roads are paved so it is great for cruising around on your bicycle. The wifi was not good so I paid to upgrade because I work remotely and it still was not great and very frustrating

We found it! We have travelled all around the world and officially found the worst spot!
This place was an absolute dumpster fire from start to finish! Not a single staff member had a mask on, even after I had double checked with our booking. We get to our cabin and it’s dirty. Like disgusting dirty. Rando hair in the shower and floors so filthy it ruined our socks. They tried to send someone up to clean it, but of course her mask was around her chin and there was no way I was letting her in our cabin, especially after I had repeatedly and politely told them we had a medically fragile, handicapped son and wanted to make sure we were coming to a clean place since it was our very first outing in over a year. Coupled with tone deaf karaoke singers Friday night blaring on the site’s speakers and Saturday a live concert (that we literally had to shout in our own cabin to hear each other until after 11pm), it made for a terrible Mother’s Day weekend after a historically crappy year. We ordered food from the restaurant on their website, it charged our card, then cancelled the order for some reason. We called the front office twice, they told us they didn’t have any dealing with the food service, so we went down there (inside the building plastered with “mask required” signs and not a single employee or patron in a mask) and they didn’t know or couldn’t answer either. And it was from the park’s website! So we had to call our card company to dispute the charge. Oh and the TV signals don’t work either, no matter how you try to troubleshoot it, and the staff definitely doesn’t know. Thankfully we had our own HULU account we could log into.

Just take down your stupid mask signs, because obviously no one can read, including your employees! Seriously, this place is a “trailer park on a trial bases experience” at best. Amenities, sure 🤷‍♀️, literally everything else is trash! The best time we had here, was when we were away from the park. First and only time we would ever be caught in this place and we’ve never been so happy to leave a “vacation”. If you have zero standards and expectations, this is the place for you!

When I made the reservation for this week, the Waterpark was supposed to be open daily after Memorial Day according to what I was told by the person making the reservatios. Got here with a couple of 9 year olds and a couple of 14 year olds who had been so excited about the waterpark. We showed up for our reservation this week and the waterpark is closed. We recieved no communication and along with several other guests, we paid "in season" pricing especially for the waterpark. The resort has great amenities (when they are open), but zero customer service. When I went to front desk I was told that it was posted on their website and on Facebook. Also that there would be NO DISCOUNT due to water park being closed!! So...am I supposed to call (no one answers phone) to make sure everything is open?? I don't check Facebook for campgrounds that I am going to either!

When the MAIN attraction is not open, it should not be full price!!

Could they not send emails to people who have reservations and let them know about things like this? They sure are do send emails if you haven't paid!! Extremely disappointed in Carolna Pines!

This is a great campground with lots of amenities but many are hard to enjoy due to the wild kids running around unsupervised. Tonight we had plans to sit by the fire around game area. Kids were climbing on the cornhole boards games and tossing the bags across the lawn. The kids were abusing the gym equipment. The lawn games were taken apart, the kids were sword fighting with the parts and throwing the game pieces across the lawn. Where are the adults? Parents? Who are you expecting to have to clean up this mess? In the future the campground should lock the gym and put away the lawn games as no one could enjoy them anyway. What a complete disaster. It looked like a war zone. Kids need to have fun but fun and destroying property are two different things.

We were looking forward to trying out this new place. Called to find out their policy on golf carts and found out that personal golf carts are only allowed if you are staying over 30 days. With a handicap husband and young children we will not spend $50+ a day to rent from them when we have our own. The excuse of insurance ect. is not valid, other campgrounds require proof of insurance on your own cart, problem solved. This is just another money grab by forcing you to rent from them. Sad.

So we were there spring break. Filled to the max. not enough staff. beach club. water park and restaurant closed. Office or store did not open till 9 but bath house music was on all night and blowers and mowers started at 7 am. Speed limit was 5mph but kids on motorizes devices were speeding everywhere. But stopped me sitting beside my granddaughter teaching to drive the golf cart slowly and safely. painting shuffle board court and closed during busy time seemed like poor planning to me. Not enough pool chairs. little kids dominated the hot tube. pool side service closed. store staff overwhelmed. We left the park and went to the beach for food and entertainment. Will not stay there again. Poorly managed and staffed.

We recently spent a weekend at Carolina Pines with our 8 year old son. We just got a camper (the week before) so the updated and easy to use hookups were ideal! We had a great time getting to know the other campers around us and enjoying the many amenities! My son loved the jumping pillow and putt putt coarse. We ate at the restaurant and it was SO good! I would recommend reserving a golf cart before if you plan on it because they were out when we went to get one. Looking forward t o returning for a longer stay over Thanksgiving!!
