This was our second visit to Mansfield Plantation, and it was just as good, if not better, than our first! Our room, now our favorite, was quite spacious and was filled with lovely antique furniture and a comfortable king size bed. The bathroom is a little tight, but that is to be expected in an outbuilding of a historic plantation...

My wife and I haven't stayed at many bed-and-breadfasts that are located in antebellum mansions. Monmouth in Natchez, Mississippi, is a favorite. So is Madewood in Napoleonville, Louisiana. Add Mansfield Plantation to the list. Located at 1776 Mansfield Road, five miles north of Georgetown, South Carolina, off US Route 701. It is a well-preserved antebellum rice plantation that was established...

This B&B was the most wonderful place. The accommodations were outstanding and the staff so pleasant. The AM breakfast was delicious- luxurious and very classy without any pretensions. A friend I know introduced us to this wonderful place. The setting, grounds are lovely- there was firewood for our fire in the outdoor fire pit . Just a wonderful place- you...

Where do I begin? Our stay at Mansfield Plantation, circa 1718, in Georgetown, SC was excellent. Arriving at Mansfield and driving down a mile-long drive way is a story in itself. A beautiful brick fence lined parts of the tree-lined drive – some of the fence was curved; some straight; some bricks missing; all telling a story of a rice...

It's been years since my husband and I got away by ourselves without the kids. This was a wonderful place to get away to. There are only 2 rooms in each of the 3 stand alone buildings. We stayed in a beautifully decorated room (in the Old Schoolhouse) which was comfortable and quiet. The room provided almost everything you needed-water...

We've stayed at Mansfield going back many years. The setting is gorgeous: a long driveway through tall pine forests leads to an unassuming main house with guest houses set around a large pond. Full of wildlife and old plantings--good for birders--interesting history, once a rice plantation, old slave village to explore and a hidden cemetery in the woods. Great for...

Spacious room with private bath in a separate building that had previously housed the kitchen. From the understated entry leading to canopied drive through centuries old oak trees to the paths along the canals to the buildings, the property offers so much history and interesting architecture in an idyllic setting that reeks of days gone by.

This has to be one of our top "5" Bed and Breakfasts ever!! We have stayed in probably 50!! and this is a favorite. This is such a serene setting with history, and sweeping oak trees, dripping with Spanish moss. We thought it was a river out back but it was the old rice fields and it is only 2...

This was a great B&B that offers so much more than just a cute room and an awesome breakfast. In addition to the great breakfast Katherine, the inn keeper, serves she ensures that the rooms are fabulous. You also have the opportunity to explore the massive plantation grounds. They have bikes you can borrow to take and see the slave...
