Mansfield is a beautiful B&B set in an old rice plantation. The rice paddies, old trees and historic buildings make for a very peaceful scene. It's not unusual to see deer, there are lots of ducks and other birds and an alligator can occasionally be heard splashing about. My room was clean but smelled musty. The bed gave me a...

Thank you for taking the time to review Mansfield Plantation. We are so sorry to hear that we didn't meet your expectations this time around. Rest assured that breakfast is made fresh daily, and always from scratch. We use fresh vegetables, fresh eggs, and even mix up fresh batter each morning when pancakes or waffles are on the menu. Mansfield is a Bed and Breakfast that is the perfect retreat from the hectic pace of the world around us. Porch swings hanging from the trees overlooking the former rice paddies welcome the weary, and bikes available for all guests allow you to visit the restored slave quarters and chapel which pay homage to the labor and sacrifices to those...

Everything from exquisite, clean and comfortable lodging to five-star breakfasts was more than I had anticipated. We intended to have a working vacation and gave that up right after breakfast on our first day, instead opting to take a lazy two-hour nap in a hammock beneath the sweeping, stately oaks, dripping with Spanish Moss, listening to the birds, cicadas and...

We work very hard to keep Mansfield looking its best so that individuals like yourself can enjoy the experience. We are so thrilled you enjoyed your stay, and even more so that you decided to put your work away and relax on the hammocks. Cheers!

We stayed for 3 nights beginning of July and where almost the only guest at the BnB. It´s true that the place is a bit isolated and you can´t do much from here without using the car, which for us is always a downside. However, they had bikes that we as guests could use as much as we wanted to...

I wanted to visit a real in the middle of nowhere plantation to get a true feel of what it might have been like and I got that and more at Mansfield. My son and his wife stayed next door to at the adorable school house. The bed and room were comfortable and beautifully decorated, but the highlight was touring...

My wife and I took a week's vacation to the Carolinas in mid-March, this being the first time for either of us in South Carolina. We chose Mansfield Plantation as our first night's stay after reading the great reviews and seeing the beautiful pictures. The weather in Georgetown was sunny and in the low 80s, which is quite nice compared...

This historic collection of plantation buildings are situated nearly 2miles up a private driveway from the highway. We stayed in the old school house. The property requires some major upgrading especially the bathroom. The showerhead was loose on the wall and there was rust in the sink. We understand that the owners are maintaining the historic feel for these properties...

We enjoyed your visit and are delighted to hear that you enjoyed breakfast, the wildlife, and your overall experience. Regarding the shower head, we are so sorry for the irritation and wish you had brought this to our attention sooner, as we would have remedied the situation immediately. We were able to quickly fix the problem after you told us...

We spent 3 nights at Mansfield Plantation. It is a 1.7 mile drive from the main road to the housing but worth it to see the Deer, Turtles, Squirrels, Fox Squirrel and numerous birds. Accommodation was comfortable and of a good quality and the breakfasts are served in a lovely dining room and are plentiful and good quality. Would have...

We are so thankful for your visit and glad that you enjoyed your time. Mosquitoes can be bad at times in South Carolina, so we provide bug repellant in every room as a courtesy to our guests.

Mansfield Plantation is a lovely, green, plantation of yore, replete with mosquitoes and other biting bugs but worth the experience! You'll stay in a lovely, clean, updated outbuilding, and dine on a cooked breakfast in the mansion. Wi-fi is only available in the mansion when it's open, and on its porch. You'll need a car, as it's a couple of...

Spent two nights in the Middleton room. Located in the old schoolhouse, the room was quaint, quiet and extremely comfortable. Spent the days walking and cycling the 100 acres surrounding the houses. Beautiful grounds and lots of history. They are currently restoring some of the remaining slave dwellings. The breakfast was wonderful, and the atmosphere that Manager Kathryn provides is...
