My husband and I with our 2 small dogs stayed 2 nights. Our first room was directly in front of the elevator, which is a big NO due to noise. The second room was handicap accessible, which was a much smaller room, no drawers, and missing the kitchenette sink. Also, the closet is about 4 ft high, so another big NO. Third room was fine.
Now the elevator....only 1 very slow, very dirty elevator services the entire hotel. On our first night, the elevator failed and no notice was posted on the elevator bank. So we stood at the elevator door with 2 dogs needing to do their business for many minutes before taking the stairs. Desk clerks tried to make the best of it, but a simple sign on each floor saying "the elevator is out - take the stairs" would have gone long way to ease weary travelers.
Our "housekeeper" did not make the bed, refill coffee service or tissues, even though we requested housekeeper service.
Only 2 hot food items were on the menu from the front desk. Renovation was the excuse for everything.
Maybe if the hotel is under renovations, they should close until the hotel is up to par. Disappointed in the stay....spend your time somewhere else.

We drove up to see the front door inaccessible due to construction. Around back all the windows were covered with plastic. Not sure what we were getting into. But we were greeted with very nice staff at the front desk. Inside was just fine. A lot of construction noise during the day but we were gone mostly. Night was quiet, well, except for the dogs they apparently allow. We say four large dogs that evening in the hall. The hotel had a notice to patrons beforehand about the construction but we booked through Expedia and were not forewarned. We had a very nice roomy king bed suite with living area. The TV was on when we came into our room playing a soothing sounding advertisment program to the hotel. The staff gave us several recommendations for local restaurants and we enjoyed a popular one that was very close. Enjoyed relaxing that evening in the room watching a movie. The bed was very comfortable. We were happy to find out check out was at 12 on Saturday as we were in town for a 2:00 wedding. So we had time to get ready and not have to wander around town until the wedding. We like that the sink is separate from toilet and walk-in shower so two people could use the bath at the same time. Breakfast had a variety of hot options and was good. This hotel was just off interstate and easy to find. We would use again but probably book directly.

Lidia greeted us and checked us in. She couldn’t have been any nicer and she made sure we were on the lowest floor possible when I mentioned our dog was 14 yrs old. The room was very clean, you could smell how clean it was, as well as the towels and bed linens. The hotel is undergoing remodeling and we heard some noise above us at when we arrived at 4pm but it was quiet all night and up until we checked out at 9:30 am. The bed was very comfortable and we missed breakfast so I can’t comment on that. Arlene checked us out and she was also very kind and helpful and gave us 2 bottles of water for our ride. We didn’t experience any inconveniences due to the construction as others had mentioned. We had a great 1 night stay and will definitely use this hotel again. Hopefully the remodeling is finished soon because I feel the price per night is a bit high for an older room not yet remodeled but I’m happy they are pet friendly.

For starters, I am a revenue/market research analyst for a different hotel management company; and I have wanted to work in the hotel industry ever since I was 6 (the hotel industry is my autism induced special interest).
One of my lifetime travel goals is to stay in at least 1 hotel of every brand in the US and document it, and I kicked off that journey here at the Hyatt Place Greenville Haywood, which was an AmerSuites when I was little and wanted to stay there while AmeriSuites was a brand.
The staff honored my room location request easily, and honored my request to be notified when the room was ready. The Gallery Host in the purple shirt did an amazing job handling my dinner request of chicken tenders, fries, ketchup, and a Peruvian chocolate brownie from the Placery. This is clutch because eating out has a million potential autism sensory triggers that I was not in the mood to deal with that day.
Although the room renovations are completed and my suite was absolutely spotless in cleanliness, my only frustration was the lack of plugs near the work desk (or if they existed they were not invisible enough for me to find and plug in my laptop to work for a few minutes).
Now I absolutely LOVE how the sink is separated from the toilet/shower, the Cozy Corner couch is a perfect replacement for an actual desk and desk chair when working (especially if I bring my lap desk and a strip cord). Besides, I usually work from a recliner with a back cushion and lap desk or a padded chair with a card table so the Cozy Corner probably reflects my usual work habits more than the typical desk does.
On the neutral side, this hotel has window climate controlled thermostats, one pro being that my heat sensitive self could lower the temperature to like 64.
Now in terms of room decor, it is completely beige and other muted colors to where it would exactly fit the “Sad Beige baby growing up without bold colors” but I blame Hyatt corporate for this, not the hotel, hotel’s franchisee, or the hotel’s management company for the lack of interior color in the suites.
Now onto breakfast, it is unique vs most other brands per brand standard so you will either welcome the change or walk to the Spinx. If you like healthy foods at hotel breakfast like Canadian Bacon, scrambled eggs that a team member prepared, french toast, potatoes of some sort, etc. then this is right up your alley. But if you are looking for sweet pastries like muffins and waffles, they don’t exist at Hyatt Places. The Canadian Bacon was wonderful and tasted like Ham and the French toast was a treat.
This hotel had zero autism sensory triggers from my experience. If you are the type that Hyatt Place is designed for, you will absolutely love this hotel and this brand period.

I should have read the most recent reviews on this hotel prior to booking - they were overwhelmingly negative - and they were correct.
The room was absolutely disgusting, to the point where I am now doubtful that even the bed linens had been changed; although the bed was made, so I'm trying to be optimistic.
We checked in later after 9pm. Shortly after settling in, we noticed the floors were sticky and there was human hair/weave littered around the room. The pack & play we'd requested in our booking was not in the room, and we had to ask for it at the front desk.
When it arrived over 30 minutes later, it was too gross to put our child in. It was stained in multiple places and didn't appear clean. In the bathroom, there was what appeared to be a dried-out bandage on the wire rack in the shower. Additionally, the elevators were dirty and needed a servicing - they were slow, noisy, and lurched.
The restaurant was closed for renovation - a fact that wasn't mentioned on the website when we booked. Because we knew we'd be checking in later in the day, having a restaurant on site was one of the primary reasons we chose this hotel. We ended up paying $32 for 2 frozen dinners from the little mini shop in the lobby - they would have cost us maybe $4 each at a grocery store - something that feels like an outright insult given the rest of the stay.
The next morning at breakfast, the highchair that was brought over was sticky and gross. We resorted to cleaning it with wet wipes and hand sanitizer in order to make it fit for use.
Breakfast wasn't great, but I wouldn't recommend it, either.
This was the first hotel I've ever checked out of early - we were supposed to stay 2 nights, but we checked out the next morning and went elsewhere. I cannot in good conscience recommend anyone stay at this hotel.

This location needs to be closed for about a month or 2 for serious renovations. Inside, this hotel is falling apart. Not a good look for a Hyatt. One of the elevators, while I was inside attempting to come to the first floor, got stuck on the 3rd floor. Luckily the door opened and i was able to get off, otherwise my story would have became even more interesting. The rooms that I was given, and yes I said rooms, were subpar to say the least. The first room unfortunately I was unable to enter due to the room key not working. But I requested a change because it was right across from the elevator. The second room I was given was a nightmare. Firstly the toilet would not flush. Second, this same toilet had pubes and urine all around and under the seat. The couch inside the room was ripped and the innards were exposed. I requested a different room; the third room was decent but outdated. I also noticed that this room contained zero time telling devices (clock, alarm, etc.). The TV was old, and there were drilled holes exposed underneath the vanity. Weird. Breakfast was subpar also. French toast sticks were all burned, sausages were very greasy, and coffee was more like brown water. Front desk staff, upon checkout, asked me how my stay was. When I stated that It wasn't good, I was given the response of "oh ok." In conclusion, this hotel needs major renovations.

#1 worst hotel stay. Their incompetence would’ve been hilarious if they hadn’t overcharged me hundreds of dollars. I was omy to deal with my house in Asheville post hurricane Helene and just wanted a shower and a nap.
I paid through a 3rd party, then was charged again by the hotel. They first sent me to a room with people in it. Then I was sent to a dirty room. They here were dirty dishes in it, long hairs everywhere, dirty sheets, and no towels. THEN they showed up at my room while I was in the shower. THEN called to ask me to come back downstairs bc they did something wrong when I checked in. And I had to go downstairs to fetch towels because no one answered the desk phone.
It took hours to check in. The first time I tried, the worker at the desk was eating and didn’t bother to move her half eaten plate out of my face.
She couldn’t find my reservation at first, so she called another manager, told her I was “some white lady,” and laughed in my face about losing my reservation. I would’ve told her I’m only 1/4 white, but I’m tired of explaining my ethnicity to people as if it were their business!
I told the lady on speaker phone that I worked in hospitality and she called me a liar. Then she proceeded to scream so loudly, for so long, that I could hear her tearing up. As you can hear in this video, I was blamed for them sending me to a room with people in it.
Customer service has not returned my calls as they promised 3x now, after being repeatedly put on hold and hung up. They refused to return any of the money that they promised to, and they refused to show me an itemized receipt. So now I have waste more of my time to reverse my payment through the bank, post reviews, and report them.
Worst of all, they are taking advantage of people displaced by the hurricane in Asheville.

The front desk lady during check-in was extremely rude. One of the worst we've ever experienced from any hotel. The room was clean and spacious, however, the shower extraction fan did not work, which made showering difficult from the mist and dampness. The beds are comfortable, but at 5am, we were woken up by men outside out door using loud radio's during an elevator issue trapping a guest inside. My husband opened the door to ask them if it was necessary to be so loud on the hallway of hotel guests and their reply was yes. The elevator was nowhere near our room, but suddenly, after being woken and approaching them, they became quiet as they dealt with the elevator. We will never stay at the Hyatt Place Greenville/Haywood ever again and would not recommend this location to anyone.

Having read the reviews, I already knew the elevator would look very dingy and unreliable. But it was still disappointing to experience. The room was nice and clean and the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. But I could tell there were systemic issues as I had several discrepancies throughout my stay. Eg. I was assured I would be getting a room with a microwave, only for me to call a few hours before checkin and speak to someone who was completely unaware of that arrangement. Also, my room key stopped working several hours before checkout. So I got locked out of my room, and when it was replaced it still didn't work. But I must commend the staff who went above and beyond to make sure that I was satisfied everytime something went wrong. I could tell they really regretted the inconveniences I had experienced and did everything in their power to make amends. Overall, I nice hotel, if the hotel itself is not the "main attraction". I felt safe, I slept well, and the accommodations provided everything that I needed for my trip.

There was a water stain in the room. I do not know where the water was leaking from. The bathroom had two shampoo bottles and no conditioner. I called the front desk twice about getting shampoo. A half hour passed and she did not call me back to let me know that there was no employee available (housekeeping) to bring the conditioner. The elevator had a problem and my sister-in-law and her grandson were stuck in the elevator for 20 minutes. The fire department had to be called to get them out. It was a traumatizing experience.
