Hyatt Place Greenville Downtown is often lauded for its cleanliness, with guests highlighting spotless rooms and facilities. The hotel's central location earns high marks for its convenience to downtown attractions. Staff members receive commendations for their friendly and professional service, though a few guests have faced slower service at times. While appreciated for comfortable beds and an indoor pool, the amenities have room for improvement, such as broader breakfast options. However, some visitors question the value, particularly regarding the parking fees.

I love Greenville and the location of this hotel is perfect. The rooms are impecable, the staff cordial and helpful, the breakfast is good, public parking across the street, Being a Hyatt Member also comes with great benefits like late checkout and the points program that we love.

We had a nice stay at this hotel but there were a few things we wished we had known that we would like to pass on. We were there for 3 nights for a little mini vacation. We had heard how dog friendly Greenville is (and we found that to be very true), so we looked for a nice hotel where we could bring our small dog. Our room was fine, just as we were told, with two comfortable queen beds, and a couch area that gave us plenty of room should we find ourselves "rained in". The indoor pool was clean and refreshing and the workout room was clean with plenty of machines and space. We did not know the area well when we made our reservations and thought it would be a good location, just two blocks off of Main Street, but kind of in the middle of Main street so we would have an easy walk in either direction. This would have been fine, if it weren't for our dog. The hotel accommodates pets and we felt very welcome there when we arrived with out dog. We were told that there was a designated spot for him to do his business, out the side door. That spot was less than 2' deep and only about 4' wide. It has a pole with doggy poop bags, which was empty of bags for our entire stay, and no grass. Just dirt and some large weeds. Our dog wouldn't go there, and I wasn't happy about the mud he would have had to get into if he did, so we ended up walking to the nearest grassy area, with our own bags. This was another block and a half away, not very well lit at night, and behind a construction dumpster at a parking garage. We did not feel safe there after dark. Be forewarned, if your dog is picky about where he/she relieves themselves, you may want to find another hotel. We were also led to believe that the hotel offered nightly self parking for $7/night if you did not want to pay the $20/night for valet. The $7/night parking was at a parking garage in another block, not at the hotel. Also, that was a public parking garage, so your car would have to be moved at least once during the day. Luckily, Greenville offers free street parking and we were able to get a space across the street from the hotel and did not move our car for the 3 nights we were there. You can easily walk, or Uber, to everything. A few things in our room were broken (the extra security flap/lock on the door, the door handle to the bathroom door, and the stopper in the sink which wasn't great for my husband's shaving experience). There also seemed to be a problem with the elevator twice while we were there.

Only 1.2 miles to Greenville Zoo , so a nice walk. 2 blocks to main street where everything happens! Gym and Pool were open. Parked in lot across the street for $7 a day vs $20 a day with hotel valet. Breakfast was better than expected
They have eggs, bacon or sausage, french toast sticks or potatoes prepared in sealed containers. Fruits pastries cereal boiled eggs
Yogurt coffee juices water
Room clean Beds good
TV stations limited
Don't know about chromcast
Didn't ask cause not in room that much. AC working. Front desk friendly and helpful. Housekeeping friendly. Definitely will stay again!

Upon check-in I was in awe of the beauty of this Hyatt and how well the building matched the surrounding area. The male clerk who checked us in was sarcastic and down-right rude. Certainly not the southern hospitality we have come to expect from the good people of Greenville. When asked about parking the clerk sarcastically responded, “This is a downtown hotel good luck trying or give us $20.00 to park you.” Obviously it’s a downtown hotel, thanks buddy. Next time start with explaining the valet option/cost vs the public parking options nearby. By the way public parking is free on the street and $7.00/day directly across the street. While on street parking is limited, there is ample parking in the garage across the street. Next, after we got settled into our room i decided to go for a swim in the indoor pool. I arrived around 9:10p at the door and it wouldn’t unlock using the “mobile key” on my phone so i went back up to my room to get the room key. I arrived back at the door to the pool around 9:30p. Door still wouldn’t open with the key. The sarcastic clerk at the front desk let me know that the pool was closed and that it was “close enough” to 10:00p. Disappointed, i left the desk and went for a walk. When I exited the hotel the valet was climbing out of a car he was parking that reeked of Marijuana and was coughing. I watched for a few minutes from a short distance as the valet continued to smoke marijuana on the job! I went back to the front desk this time i was greeted by a female. First thought, yes at least its nit Mr. Sunshine! I reported what i observed and the lady clerk told me the valet was smoking cigarettes and the smell was his cologne. She acted insulted that i said anything at all. My advice to anyone staying here is this, use the public parking option unless you’re ok with the valet getting high in your car (not me!) and avoid talking to the front desk ask much as possible!

On a recent trip to visit family and friends in the Southeast, we were very much looking forward to an overnight in Greenville, SC. After a three-hour morning drive, we arrived at the Hyatt Place Greenville Downtown Hotel. We had never stayed at a Hyatt before and decided to treat ourselves to what we thought the Hyatt brand would bring. We arrived at the hotel at approximately 1:00 p.m. and were told that although our room was ready, we could check in before the 3:00 check-in time if we paid a $15.00 early check-in fee. Who ever heard of such a thing? We said “Thank You, but no thank you,” no way would we pay this. At 3:00 p.m. we returned to the hotel and checked in. The room looked fine and we decided to take a short nap before continuing our exploration of Greenville. Since we had just used the restroom at lunch, neither of us found it necessary to use the toilet. When we got up, my friend went into the bathroom to use the toilet and I heard her shriek that I must come to see something immediately. And there, we were horrified to see was a bowel movement in the toilet. Probably the most shocking thing I have ever seen.

We immediately went down to the front desk and told the receptionist what we had found. And we told her, imagine if we had paid the $15.00 fee, only to find what we found in our toilet. The woman told us that she agreed this was totally unacceptable and that she would not charge us the $20.00 overnight parking fee. She also said that she would go up to our room to clean the toilet. I was horrified that she would do this rather than call Housekeeping. She replied that at this time of day there was no housekeeping staff on duty. Hard to believe that in a large downtown hotel there was no one on duty to respond to an extraordinary incident. We were horrified that in a Hyatt hotel, the front desk receptionist would have to clean a toilet.

The next morning, we arrived at breakfast a few minutes after 9:00 a.m. (our own fault, of course), only to find breakfast being dismantled and the coffee pot being removed. There was no way that we were able to extract a morsel of food, and only after pleading with the attendant were we allowed to get a cup of coffee!

What a place! No traveler should be expected to be treated as we were at the Hyatt Place Greenville Downtown. This was our first Hyatt experience, and it is guaranteed to be our last.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hyatt. It was in the middle of downtown and close to everything. I stayed just one night with my girlfriend as we searched for apartments and it was a nice getaway. The room was immaculate and the service we received was great! Simone served us some drinks and we talked with her for awhile as we relaxed: wonderful conversation. Valet parking was $20 and for one night it was well worth the money. Definitely will come back!

I attended my nephew's wedding in Greenville. I was pleasantly surprised at the accommodations at the Hyatt Place. The main lobby was set up with many places for group, couple, or single conversations and eating...depending on your needs or preference, The breakfast was grab and go, with a wide variety of choices. I also felt the room prices were reasonable and could easily accommodate up to six people if needed. The nearby park and waterfalls are within walking distance and made the trip even more enjoyable. Beautiful city. Pleasant accommodations.

This is a newer spot right off the main thoroughfare of Downtown Greenville, so it is excellently located. Parking is sparse, but you can pay for valet parking ($20/day) or park across the street in a garage for $7/day. We chose the latter. The rooms are a good size and exceptionally clean, as are the common areas in the hotel. We had a few minor issues with the A/C and the toilet, but they were taken care of in a prompt fashion. The bed was too soft for the liking of my wife and I, so the sleep was a bit wanting. However, I'm not sure how a hotel can provide a bed that everyone who stays there will be comfortable with? Hyatt Place provides you a pretty good free breakfast if you like, with meat, potatoes, and unfortunately fake eggs. Decent coffee and some other carbs as well. They need a bigger breakfast room though as said room is basically the lobby of the hotel. They also have a small bar area in the lobby should you want a drink. Anyway, the hotel was clean, covid compliant and close to everything, so it's pretty hard to give them a bad grade. Highly recommended.

The hotel itself was fine. However, their parking policy in regards to handicapped parking is offensive and possibly illegal. You decide. The hotel does not offer self parking, only valet at $20 PER DAY. However, handicapped spaces, as required by law, are there in name only right by the door. The disabled like my husband and myself, are NOT allowed to use them! They are strictly for show, to meet the letter of the law but not the essence. Instead, we were told we had to pay the $20 , $60 for the 3 days we were staying, or we could use the public garage about 3 to 4 blocks away where disabled parking is free. The hotel's GM told me that he was required by law to have a certain number of handicapped parking spots. But, why bother if we aren't allowed to use them? He did finally let us park there but when we went out to dinner, the spots were filled with regular cars from the valet leaving us nowhere to park. The GM said he is going to allow the use of the handicapped spaces by the disabled but I sincerely doubt it. If this relates to you, please complain like we did, or contact the hotel prior. Seeing regular cars in the handicapped places and being directed to a distant garage, or pay $60 is offensive.

We had a great stay here. The location was excellent! The parking lot across the street is convenient and around $8 per day. Valet is $20. The king room with sofa was very comfortable with huge TV. We had a frig but a Microwave would have been nice. Warning for those of you with pet allergies. They do not have specific pet friendly rooms. I asked because there were quite a lot of pet guests there while we stayed here. The front desk said they do extra cleaning after a pet leaves but when we walked into the room and all looked clean, we found that the carpet still had a good amount of dog hairs. Everything else was spotless in the room except for the coffee cups which were not washed. So, during this time of Covid and pets being allowed, each room has to be detailed perfectly or you wonder what else didn't they clean? They did not offer individually packaged milk, yogurt, etc. for breakfast. It was buffet style and I still don't feel we are ready for that quite yet so I avoided all cold buffet items.
