My wife and I drove from South Jersey for a week of shopping, golf, and relaxation. The Bluewater Resort and Marina was nearly perfect (see below). Our 2/6 unit was spotless, the rooms were large (bathrooms, living space, bedrooms, and the furnishings were fine...all appliances worked, the beds were firm and comfortable, and the housekeeping and support staff were always smiling and friendly. We did not utilize any of the amenities - pool, fitness center, etc - and did NOT appreciate the $16+/day charge that was in the fine print when we booked our exchange. That was the only drawback, but paying the extra $115 for the week was okay since everything else about the place was great.
My only issue with the rooms were that the bedrooms only had bedside lighting but no overhead lighting...so at night the rooms were darker than we would have liked.

We would stay here again, but I would ask that the resort fee be waived for those who agree NOT to use the amenities. Don't know if that would fly, but I would ask.

The check-in was easy and convenient with helpful and knowledgeable staff members. The rooms feels welcoming and warm, the feel of being at the beach with bright colors but,not overwhelming. Bathrooms very clean and one for each bedroom with three TV's .My family and I felt comfortable and enjoyed the entire one week stay.
The convenience of having a full stock kitchen with all of the pots and dishes you would need to prepare a meal was an added delight.Chris Jolly made us feel comfortable with no pressure about an additional sale we made.He was great at answering and explaining my questions and concerns very positive experience with Chris.Due to our great experience and the assistance Chris Jolly gave I'm sure this purchase will enhance the lives of our family for yearsto come.

We booked our trip through Interval's certificate reward program. We live near Charleston so it is an easy destination to get to. We have stayed at The Blue Water Resort several times in the past and always feel welcomed to return. The staff especially, Chris Jolly, is always there to answer questions or make suggestions.

Check in is fast and easy. I called ahead to see if it was possible to request a unit on an upper level with a view. Although not always an easy task, but our request was granted!. We had a terrific view on the third floor. The unit was roomy and just perfect for us as well as for my brother in law and nephew. The furniture and unit amenities were great.

We love the location of the Blue Water Resort with great access to everything the island has to offer as well as the quick on and off access to Bluffton and Beaufort.
The resort has a variety of amenities to keep you busy. We love that they offer kayaking on the intercoastal waterways and gatherings to meet other vacationers.
The beaches are close by and alot of them are very private. The restaurants are plentiful and it is no easy chore to decide where to eat.

It is a great destination for everyone! I would recommend Blue Water Resorts.

We stay here for a week on an Interval International exchange on points. It's rated as a mid level property through Interval, and that would be accurate. The location is in a residential area and the property is attractive enough. A closer look shows some wear and tear and how it's come down since what must have been its heyday when first opened. However, it's a decent value and comfortable and clean enough for our standards. We had requested a building over email and via phone call from my husband to the main Spinnaker headquarters. However, when we arrived, we were told we had been assigned a unit nothing like what we asked for.
We spoke to Kerry at check in and told him what we requested, and he went ahead and switched out our originally assigned building and unit to what we actually had asked for. We're very grateful to Kerry for working with us, because we were in a top floor unit in Building 6400, facing the water and our balcony had great views and was quiet. In terms of the unit itself, I'm not a fan of putting bedrooms on the corridor. This means when you're trying to sleep, you hear every noise of every person coming off the elevator and walking back and forth in the hallway. The living area makes up for it though, with an open floor plan and windows all along the living and dining area. Other little things that could be improved but are minor.
If you're buying coffee makers, get the dark colored ones where the plastic pieces don't show their age with coffee stains. And make sure all towel racks are in good working order. Make sure also the couches and other furniture are updated. Who puts a dark brown dining table in a unit's living/dining area where the rest of the furniture is all white? Things like this don't mean all that much, but they are obvious nonetheless. Other than that, bathrooms were in good shape, decent hot water and water pressure. Pool areas well maintained and pool towels in the units are a nice touch. I used the gym a couple of times and it was in decent shape, but there were no wipes to wipe down the equipment after use, although there were two huge wipe buckets sitting on the floor. Those need to be replaced regularly. I'm also not a fan of limited hours front desk. We did an early check out and had to call the 24 hour front desk of another Spinnaker property to let them know we were checking out, which was easy enough, but we were promised an email receipt and it took three phone calls to get that sent to us. The timeshare 'free breakfast' pitch, as others have mentioned, was easy to turn down, as we already own at other resorts and were not at all interested in a tour.

We booked a getaway week through Interval and were more than pleasantly surprised by our stay. We typicall stay at Marriott or Sheraton timeshares but Spinnaker easily matches their quality of apartments and customer service. We particularly liked the location on the "quiet side" of Hilton Head and were able to easily hop on and off the island for excursions to Beaufort, Savannah, and Bluffton. We also hiked Pickney Reserve and were able to view our lodging from across Skull Creek. Other highlights were sunset on the deck, a day on bikes, and even some December time by the pool. Finally, the follow up from Chris Jolly about our stay just to check on our experience and ensure that we had a great time during our travels with this company was an example of Spinnaker's attention to detail.”

We are timeshare owners at Spinnaker Bluewater Resort in Hilton Head, SC. We stayed there for our fourth time in December 2019. It was nice, but not as good as usual. The first problem we had was at our arrival, the lock on the door didn't work and a maintenance man had to come and fix it, which took about 30 minutes. We have a one bedroom which is large, nice and clean, however the carpet in the bedroom this time was frayed and the bathroom walls were stained. Unfortunately in the winter there is not much to do at the resort and most of the activities that they do offer are for children. I would like to see more activities for adults. I also noticed that there is a charge for an exercise class, which I believe should be free for owners. I am glad that when we purchased this timeshare that we chose a contract that is for every other year.

Had a call this morning from customer service representative, Chris Jolly, concerning my review of our recent visit to Bluewater by Spinnaker. It’s reassuring to know our responses are read and responded to. We purchased a week at Bluewater last year and actually took a “getaway “ week in December last year. Both times we found units to be clean, comfortable, and well stocked. The grounds were well maintained and the weather good. Chris and I discussed my review in detail and covered each topic. I appreciate his thoroughness and how well he understood any concerns. Our only real negative comments were regarding the “owners update “. We have been timeshare owners for four decades, so this wasn’t our first rodeo. Owners spend time preparing for our vacation and making the trip to our destination. Upon arrival, we are happy to finally be there. We are tired, but check-in is usually simple. The only negative is being routed immediately to another desk where you must pick up a parking tag. The invitation to the “owners update “ is at the top of the agenda. We don’t object to the gathering as long as it is as advertised. Information on events of the week, can’t miss experiences, best places to eat and shop is a great way to make the best use of your time while on vacation. Even coupons, brochures, and an island map can be a real help, especially if this your first visit to HHI. We owners find them useful, too. A thinly veiled sales or upgrade presentation starts the week off with less than a bang. We own seven timeshare weeks in the U.S. and the Caribbean, and many of them offer real, useful information for newbies and owners alike. Chris discussed our concerns and promised to refer them to staff who might act on them. Bluewater is a really good destination with a cordial, responsive staff, so I feel our review will be received in the manner it is intended. Constructive critiques is how good things can be made even better. Thanks to Chris and management of Spinnaker for listening.

The good: The resort is on Skull Creek with beautiful views, and sunsets. Great to sit on the dock and relax and watch the boats come and go. There are a couple of organized activities each day. They do have several kayak tours throughout the week (I would suggest you partake, since you are charged a $20 per day amenity fee). Bike rentals are $6 (I think) per day and need to be returned each day by 6pm (unrealistic). There is a lagoon with a large and small alligator, turtles and birds. There is a lazy river/pool, another outdoor pool and indoor pool. Basketball goal, pickleball court, small basic mini golf, cornhole, horseshoes, bocce ball, and shuffleboard (shuffleboard court needs refurbishing...it's not flat). There is an area by the water with a nice covered outdoor kitchen, firepit and several chairs. There is also a floating dock that you could tie up your personal boat. It looks like there is an area where you can park your boat trailer also. The 2 BR units are good size and the kitchens are well equipped with enough essentials to prepare decent meals. It is next door to three great restaurants - Hudson's, Dockside, and Boathouse. The bad: Manditory $20 per day amenity fee. I find that extreme, unless you are using the kayaks. I feel the Marriott's have just as nice (or nicer) amenities and are ocean front - they don't charge an amenity fee. The lighting in the units is horrible, except in the Kitchen and Dining Room. It was impossible to read in the bedrooms or the family room. Light kits need to be added to the ceiling fans and the light bulbs need to be a minimum of 60 watts. I couldn't even read the tags on my clothes without walking into the bathroom with them - no lie! This is totally uncalled for. Both bedrooms face the public walkway, so you couldn't leave the blinds or the windows open. It is no where near the ocean. There is no one onsite during the night.

The units are well maintained and spacious. The staff are wearing masks, following the mandatory masking policy right now on HHI. if you find something not properly working please notify maintenance and they will come repair it. The indoor pool is nice for rainy days and the outdoor pools are great. Beach access is usually available by shuttle, but you can easily drive to a public beach nearby. We ordered groceries and picked them up which was convenient. The pier is well used for fishing or relaxing.

Wanted to thank Spinnaker for a much needed vacation at the beautiful Bluewater Resort in Hilton Head. With everything that is going on in the world right now it was nice to get away. The people at Bluewater did everything they needed to make us feel welcome and safe. And wanted to especially thank Chris Jolly for his kind call to check and see if we had a nice vacation. We are looking forward to returning next year.
