We really enjoyed our stay at the Coral Sands from checking-in to checking out. We reserved 2-3 bedroom/2bath units. Everything in room was very clean, roomy, our beds were comfy (my son thought his was too hard), the kitchen had many needed pots, pans, dishes and so convenient to pool. I only needed to talk with the staff a few times, but from checking in to checking out they were great to talk with and answer questions.
I could make one suggestion... they need to do something about the trash disposal area. Trash bags fill one area of the bin because there is not enough room for them to fall and fill the whole bin. Then garbage winds up all over the ground around the bin. Well, actually two suggestions... we were on the 1st level of building H. The back sitting area/porch and furniture was very dirty, especially the little tables. That's all. Overall it was a very nice, comfortable place and we plan on going back!!

Check-in was easy and our three-bedroom condo was located on Nassau Street, behind the main entrance. Our condo was on the first floor and the bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice. The beds were very comfortable. The living space was big enough for 4-5 people with a chair, a couch, and a love seat. The patio area was perfect for enjoying coffee in the morning but was overlooking the pool which was loud at times. The reason I only gave four stars is that we had a pretty serious ant problem in the kitchen. Pest control came out right away and put out bates which eliminated the problem after two days. The location is perfect. You can rent bikes from Wheelz at a discount which is within walking distance from the condo and you can ride down to Coligny beach which is very close or out to Sea Pines, also very close. There is a wonderful children's park across the street and many restaurants nearby. Publix is close by if you want to stock up for the week. The washer and dryer also came in very handy since we exercised a lot. The free trolley down Pope Street is also a great way to get around. All in all, I would definitely stay at Coral Sands Resort again.

We visited Hilton Head during the second week of December. Staying at Coral Sands was an excellent choice. Our unit was very clean upon arrival and very well appointed. Every thing in the unit worked well and appeared to be fairly new. Check-in was easy and worry free. I believe our check-in was easy due to the time of year we were there I could see how the lobby could become a little congested in the busy season. Overall, I would highly recommend Coral Sands, the location is so close to shopping, grocery store, dining, and the beach that it would be easy to park your car and not move it for the rest of the week. Walk or bike with ease. Although we did not use the pool area due to the time of our visit it was very clean and looked like it would be great for families. Now for a few nit picking negatives, The shower in our unit had no where to hold on to or hang a wet wash cloth. (Did I mention this was nit-picking). The door of our unit was a little difficult to bolt if the door was closed too tightly. Nothing to call maintenance or worry about. There was construction taking place next to our building and it was was rather loud but there was not construction traffic through the property. We stayed on a top floor unit and could hear some noise from the unit below and next door but not enough to suggest "paper thin". Overall, Coral Sands was an excellent location and we would stay here again.

RCI exchange members should be aware that they will be put in a unit at Springwood Village not at the Coral Sands units featured on this website. These units are part of Coral Sands but are outdated and old. The two-bedroom unit's master bedroom has a king bed however, the second bedroom has two tiny single beds that a full-grown adult is going to have a hard time sleeping comfortably in. I am 5' 6" and I barely fit in the bed. It would be okay for two children but not for adults. The rest of the unit is just "okay". They say the units are upgraded every year. I don't believe that includes Springwood! There is a pool at this location that can only be accessed from the inside of your unit out the back sliding door and down the stairs. The main pool, fitness, game room, grills, and all of the "good" stuff is located at the main building, about an 8-minute walk away. You can drive there but, that would take longer than 8 minutes. Sure, everyone is nice, and the location is wonderful but, I will not exchange here in the future. Not what I expected.

Overall the stay was decent; however it took me about 5 days into our eight day stay to feel comfortable. At checkin, the process was rushed because the hours for the concierge office had changed to winter service, yet Coral Sands sent us an email with checkin information that continued an hour later. Everyone was rushed that arrived when we did, and the concierge team admitted no fault of their own. Some that were technically on time based on the email weren’t let in and pushed to after hours service.
I inspected our place while my husband brought up our luggage, and the home was filthy. Because we were now in “after hours” the only option I had was to clean it because no one was available for service. I had to wipe down and clear all of the drawers inside and out, knobs, handles, faucets, lamps, remotes, head boards, and bed frames. My wipes were loaded with dust, hair etc, and I had to use so many, my travel pack was emptied and I had to use my make-up removing wipes. Many of the stored dishes were dirty. The vent filter was clogged, the dishwasher had sitting water and was broken along with the garbage disposal. I then vacuumed the home and in every room you could hear the vacuum picking up debris. I vacuumed over and over until I only heard smooth sounds. All furniture and finishing were nicely updated, however the couch and reading chair were so old you could see tons of faded dark yellow and brown stains all over the turquoise fabric. I flipped the cushions hoping the other sides may be better, but they were equally stained.
The next day when I went to inform the concierge service, I was first met with “I remember you guys, you made it to check-in the last minutes before closing”. I informed them of the above issues and was given an apology, saying someone would be right out to handle the work orders, and that they would have been happy to send a cleaning crew over had they known. I declined the cleaners because I had taken care of everything, and they would not have done as thorough as a job as I did since the home wasn’t cleaned well in the first place. The work orders were changed promptly.
The rest of our stay was fine.

We stayed here a few times normally stay with the beach house, so this year I decided to book here again to bring the whole family for my wife’s 50th birthday our stay was to be august 5-9 the hurricane was starting the 5th so I called NOT for a refund but to just change the dates I was told no date change or refund so we decided to try and make it there it was raining so hard we couldn’t see and ended up in a horrible reck and totaled our car, so when we got back we called again for a reconsideration we were denied! Coral sands is nothing but money hungry does not care about the repeat guest, or there safety or the fact that they just robbed us $1500 our only family vacation we saved all year for and lost our car trying to salvage any kind of vacation or birthday celebration possible because they refused us to change our dates. I have worked in hospitality for the last 18 years In pigeon forge tn and have never seen this from any resort or hotel here, we refer many places to our customers coral sands will never be a place again I wouldn’t send anyone to get treated like that have treated us we will never stay with this place or any of there sister resort again, very good way to lose good customers

We are here in Coral Sands now. I brought children, grandchildren and a-great grandchild. We were in one of the older 3 bdr units with an unusual split of bdr space. The beds were comfy but the living room furniture needs replacing. You could actually hear and feel the springs on the sofa bed when you sat down. We are owners here and I wonder where our maintainence fees are going. The children’s pool area, lazy river and hot tub were not working. No pumps to filter water or move the lazy river and children’s fountains. I have a problem with this. We actually chose this resort for the pool. Our son was here last week and it did not work then. Perhaps they could compensate us for points used or maintainence credit. We should have at least known of the problem before hand. I know that the resort is older but we have stayed in other resorts that were better maintained. Hopefully the problem can be attended to. We weren’t even notified of the issue at check in.

When booking this resort, I was given a perception of a luxury resort. I will give the good points first: Comfortable bedding, comfortable living area furniture, tv available channels good, that’s the good. The Bad: This building was bought and is actually separate from the rest of Coral Sands. This means ; The pool needs a card to access and leave pool area, No grills in this area, Will need codes to access Coral Sands North pool and clubhouse(7 or 8 minute walk) 19 steps needed to access unit, with another 14 steps to access the 2 bedrooms upstairs There is a small deck area with shared spiral staircase to reach the pools. This is the only way to reach the pool. Small kitchen, limited utensils Master bedroom with a very small bathroom only for 1 person at a time Zero towel hook’s in bathroom or bedroom areas Zero shampoo provided Trashy walkways, steps This is definitely not a Gold, Silver, nor 3 star, more like a 2 star hotel I am giving this review on our second day here and we undate later in the week

Simply …. Do not stay here! Upon check in we were told that unit wouldn’t be available earlier than 4pm because it was carpet cleaning day. While this should have been a good thing it clearly was not. Carpets were filthy and damp to walk on but also whatever they used to clean with left a strong musty mildewed odor that was unbearable it kept us both awake all nite. Smell finally dissipated on 3rd morning. We booked this thru RCI and were put in the Springwood Villas. If this is where they place you insist on being moved. We tried and were told nothing was available the entire week we stayed. Be advised that you must walk up 19 steps to get to your front door and another 14 to where the bedrooms are. The 2 bdrm “villa” was old outdated and just dirty everywhere you looked. One shower still had someone’s hair clip attached to curtain. The Springwood Villas also have a small pool but when we asked how to enter thru side gate between buildings we were told only can access pool from the spiral staircase from outside our balcony. How dangerous is that! trying to go up and down a spiral staircase carrying towels, bag and wet flip flops! We never used that pool again after trying it once… very slippery and again dangerous! I could go on but I’d be here for a while, this place is advertised as a gold crown resort thru RCI and after staying at other gold crown resorts I can 100% tell you this is falsely advertised. Customer service is non existent and needs to be addressed. Trust me when I say go elsewhere!

The resort is located in the perfect spot can literally walk to the beach. The rooms are quite comfortable but housekeeping could give abit more attention to bathroom fans. And they need to do something about the roaches, they are pretty bad, made the stay less enjoyable when we came back to our condo

The pool? Probably not heated, so very cold
Three different options, Recently we booked a two bedroom in a separate area adjacent to Coral Sands. The photos on the website are not representative. There is only one building in this complex that requires 19steps to reach the second floor and more steps to reach the 3rd floor bedrooms, very small bathrooms, pool area reachable only thru and down a spiral staircase. Access to main part of Coral Sands is not easily accomplished. Make sure before booking a two bedroom, or 3 bedroom unit you are in the main complex
There are more places to choose from in the Hilton Head area.
