Twice now, each time a year in advance, we reserved a 4 day & 3 night stay at this unpretentious historic Lodge built in 1928. Both times we arrived in the fall when the larches turn color. Located in the remote backcountry of the Continental Divide/British Columbia, you only accessed is by hiking, skiing or helicopter in & out. Because...

We were fortunate enough to accompany Claude and Annick (Park managers) on an early winter trip to Assiniboine Lodge in early November 2016. We were all amazed by the outstanding snow conditions this early in the season with around 65cm of early snow fall. We spent our first day exploring the Niblet by snow shoe. This took us pass what...

What a place! You cannot find enough words to describe this place! Sure we see the Rocky Mountains from the highway, but to be immersed into them like this is incredible! You are flown into the lodge by helicopter, the ride is worth the price of admission on its own. It is maybe a 15 minute flight but you see...

This back country lodge, located at the base of Mt. Assinoboine in Mt. Assinoboine Provincial Park, is amazing. It doesn't have running water in the rooms or cabins, although warm water is delivered to your door in the morning. There is a shower in the sauna area for all of the guests, as well as one in the main lodge during...

The staff are everything you could want. Friendly. Helpful. Very good food served family style. The surroundings are amazing. No wonder it is almost impossible to book a room. Start early if you want to go. I mean very early. By December they were almost completely booked for the summer. We stayed in both the lodge and the cabins in...

Wow. This was on my bucket list. And am I glad that I knocked this off. Being an old backpacker but now 75 years old I took the helicopter in and out, and the views were fantastic. It was mid August and clear skies, full moon, warm, but cold in my tent at night. Loved the afternoon tea at the...

I wanted to leave a review that gave more information about the Lake Magog campground and ability to use the Lodge. First, I flew the 12 minute helicopter ride from Canmore into the Lodge area. My husband and son hiked in from Sunshine Village which took about 9 hours from the trailhead. I brought some of their gear with me...

I've stayed in the lodge before but this trip was in the Naiset Huts which is also run by the lodge. The accommodation is simple and affordable and they have a well stocked cookhouse with pots and pans and stoves for guest use. I love assiniboine for the seclusion and scenic beauty and would highly recommend the lodge if money...

Would highly recommend Assiniboine Lodge. We went for the hiking and were not disappointed! Lots of great marked trails, but Claude (one of the operators of the lodge) took us on some amazing off trail hikes as well. We would highly recommend Assiniboine Lodge.
