Enjoyed a long weekend at the park. Lots of activities: golf, archery, skeet shooting, boating and swimming (when it warms up). Three trails provide a variety of legths for hiking or mountain biking. Camping, cabins, lodge and barracks for all group sizes.
We visit every year after Christmas for a few days of fishing on Clark's Hill Lake. Cabins have been remodeled and have everything needed for a few nights. Boat ramp is just a few hundred yards from cabin.
This state park is South Carolina's best kept secret; it is beautiful; the cabins have been recently refurbished; the staff is friendly and welcoming; the lodge food is great;

me and my wife spent a week here in sept 2017 very clean quite and affordable Great atmosphere and many activities to do from hiking to canoe/ kayak rentals golf skeet shooting fishing and just relaxing. Can't wait to go again

The " cabins " at Hickory Knob are indeed quite close to the lake but are not lakeview per se. Also, the cabins were not individual structures similar to those I have stayed in at other facilities; they were more akin to a rustic motel. That being said however, I was very satisfied with the accommodations. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the Gillebeau House.
