The hotel is very nice, and the staff are incredibly friendly. Concierge is a bit pushy with the offers. We lost power on the last day of the trip and had no air conditioning all night, making for a really rough night of sleep, and we had to travel home on little rest the next day. When maintenance was available, they were extremely quick to fix the issue and very nice and friendly. But maintenance was not available 24/7, meaning we had to suffer in the heat all night.

The resort said that my hotel was cancelled upon arrival, my husband came to tell me what had happened. I went in to the hotel myself. suddenly they found my reservation, no longer cancelled, told me I owed them 1000 dollars on top of the 400 i put as a deposit. Please is a scam and they are taking peoples money under the table for themselves Kids were screaming and swimming in the pool at midnight, my daughter did not have any sheets on the murphy bed, housekeeping never came, but never sure if front desk told them. Please was a waste of money for what they offered. i would never spend that kind of money again, and really want a refund. breakfast was not buffet, its like any other hotel breakfast... dont let them fool you!!!

Like many Myrtle Beach hotels, The Breakers suffers from the same worn out feel with a shortage of employees. We were in MB for a Cheer competition and the Breakers is conveniently located near the convention center. We were in The Palms tower with an oceanfront room. I would give the cleanliness a 7 out of 10. As mentioned before we found a lot of hair in the bathroom and kitchen area. We were not in the room except for to sleep so it was tolerable. The housekeeping staff is VERY loud starting around 9 each morning. Very disruptive. The lobby areas look really "tired". On a brighter note, our daughter had a nice time in the shared pool, and having the beach right there was nice. The bartender in Rusty's bar was super nice.

The worst things at The Breakers complex: 1) there were not enough handicapped parking spaces near the door; 2) NO VALET PARKING, yet seasonal valet parking is advertised, & the parking garage is across the street - all difficulties for a person using a cane. Registration is also at a different building, '3 doors down' from the "Paradise" condos, & there are NO seats available; fortunately, check-in didn't have a line at the time (no excessive crowds because it wasn't Spring Break or Summer vacation time for families, I suppose). You have to circle back to drop off passengers &/or unload. 3) from my balcony, I could see what appeared to be a non-operating "Tiki bar" near the pools - MANY people would prefer to eat lunch (& the adults have nice "adult beverages") SEATED at the bar, on the premises, in the fresh sea air, as we've done at other resort-style condos. It's far easier than having to stop having fun & go get cleaned up & dressed differently to go out to eat. A couple of GOOD things: there were luggage carts readily available when we checked in, about 4:30-5:00. The free buffet breakfasts were done well , but they now charge for juice, if the machine had worked, but it didn't. The beds were fine, but they were skimpy on kitchen supplies - no automatic dish detergent packets, only 4 coffee mugs, only 1 reg. & 2 decaf packs for the coffeepot, for a 3-night stay, & since registration was in a different bldg., that made it harder to ask for more. No paper towels, & only one coffee-sized spoon in the cutlery drawer. The living room TV was pretty small. The couch was like many condos; the cushions "bottom out" when you sit, so we supplemented with bedroom pillows. Kitchen felt smaller, more like "apt.-sized" space, but that was OK.

Bad experience due to The Breakers MB having a time share company posing as concierge in their hotel check in! I had asked check in if there were any discount tickets for attractions available and they directed me to what they claimed was concierge. That person at the desk was in fact a Club Wyndham person that tried to sell me $70-$115 discount tickets in exchange for meeting with Club Wyndham in North Myrtle Beach for 2 hours. Ironically, the check in clerk called me over and asked me to hand a piece of paper to the time share person. I didn't know what it said, but I noticed later that it said the person's name and the word SALE! I didn't even buy anything but I guess the Breaker's employees get a small commission if they refer a sucker to the time share people! That should not be in a hotel! I watched several people innocently try to pick up attraction brochures and then get sucked into a sales pitch! I am not comfortable staying in the hotel again. It's a shame because I otherwise enjoyed the hotel.

Dunnes tower is older hotel. This is what we got when had a choice of poolside room vs ocean view. This was a poolside room. Room was clean but light fixtures had rust on them. Very dated. They could put some money into it to update it. Other buildings are part of the Breakers resort. This one is old.
