We were greeted by Kelli at the front desk. They had warm fresh cookies when we arrived. (I am sure it was just perfect timing.) They were so welcoming and kind. The hotel is always such a great place to stay.
I selected the Hampton Inn for their commitment to quality and a higher standard. And located right on the ocean made for an unbeatable experience! The entire theme of the hotel I would describe as “coastal beach living” . The lobby area is very open and inviting with multiple places to sit and relax. While by the pool I enjoyed the hammock just reading & relaxing. Very nice! My room was in the same coastal beach living deor and I liked it very much! My room felt very clean, very fresh, very airy and just seemed to blend so well with the beautiful view looking out onto the ocean!I Also noticed an absence of any type of mildewy, moist, musty humid feeling and smell that can be found in hotels along the ocean! ZERO odors at this Hampton Inn! All of the Hampton Inn personnel I talked to were super friendly in that South Carolina southern easy-going style but professional. This was the best Hampton Inn anywhere, until new ownership this year. The Dog Friendly policy and mostly new staffing has stripped this property of its stellar reputation. Barking dogs, dogs in the food area, poop baggie in stairwell, a non-welcoming front staff person..
Quiet in December. Beautiful ocean view from rocking chairs on balcony. Online Hilton had downgraded me instead of upgraded me so when I got to the hotel staff gave us a large corner suite. Hotel older but clean. Breakfast standard hotel breakfast food but served in a nice large area with a fire place. A couple issues. 1. No one explained the purpose of the blue wristbands at check in (apparently your supposed to wear them at breakfast and pool area but we didn’t see anyone else with them on). 2. Hiltons app omits the fact that this hotel is currently being remodeled. We didn’t even notice the construction, no noise etc. Breakfast in different area but this was not a problem. It’s just something that may be important to travelers. They come to the Hilton app for what they believe is the most up to date info about the hotel. 3. Multiple pools but only one spa that badly needed water. As it’s clearly not pool weather it sure seems like they would keep the spa in perfect condition.…
I'm in a wheelchair and stayed in an accessible room. The water pressure was phenomenal. Beware water will be everywhere in the floor. Mattress was a little hard for my tastes. Great selection for breakfast. Limited accessible parking but they allowed us to park in 15 min parking with placard.
Hotel with beautiful ocean view Clean Friendly, helpful staff Good breakfast (few hot items, yogurt, cereal, pastries, bagels, etc) We didn't get to use the pools because it was too chilly, but I'm sure they're nice in warmer weather. We did use the two hots tubs that are outside but covered. Felt secure because room key is needed to access the building. We had a great time.
We had property stolen from our room and the staff told us it was our fault for not putting it in the safe. They asked us to re-search our room and car before they would do any investigation with the staff. They were clearly not eager to investigate and continued to push us off as though it was no big deal. Eventually they said that it could not have been the staff (though two did enter our room before we ever checked out) because they were not the kind of people who would steal. I asked if we could at least be reimbursed for the cost of replacing what we lost ($150) and I was refused. I have been a Hilton Honors member for a long time but I have never been treated this poorly by hotel staff and management. We will not be returning to this hotel.
Everything was great. The people working there were great along with the location and the room. I definitely will be staying there again with my family. The view of the ocean was a bonus to be able to wake up to and go to sleep to. The hotel is in the middle of everything and just absolutely great
A friendly welcome was received when we arrived to a spotless lobby with ample rocking chairs and a spectacular ocean view awaiting.. checking was quick by a efficient staff. Third floor room has a nice view of the pool and the ocean front just as we requested.. Breakfast each morning was ample and varied with different eggs and waffles along with various dry cereals. Ample supply’s of bread muffins and danish’s made a welcoming morning start. In all a great stay with a staff that goest above and beyond.
We were just passing through, but are so glad we ended up staying here. From the woman who checked us in, to the woman who checked us out, and everything in between was very enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again if we go through Myrtle Beach in the future.
